How does the CCDB air heat up worse than an RP23?

It doesnt, the adjustments of an rp23 is much less sensitive than a CCDB so easier to get a “happy medium”

A CCDB coil can be a bitch to get setup properly as it is as the 4way adjustments are very sensitive…throw in ever changing spring rates with air….

IMO I would go for the coil with a ti spring..

I am currently running a rp23 kashima on mine and its an improvent over the monarch…

I have tried the CCDBair and to be honest the rp23 out perfoms it and is much lighter. where i ride the differences in the spring rate (heated air expands and changes characteristics) means the 4 way adjustment of the shock means dick if your spring rate constantly changes..

A CCDB coil with a marz 55 RC3ti is going to be on it shortly….cannot wait..

Reverb anyday, but the tidy cable routing of the KS is great..

As for the Fox unit its 3 years out of date and more expensive..

I have had a reverb for 2 years without issue (i am a mtb guide so is used a lot) it only now needs a service..

I run mavic sx as a bike guide and they get hammered for 9 months…thats 5 days a week alpine riding mostly DH…. they are in their third season.

BUT as Juan said they need constant attention especially in the terrain me and Juan ride (Maritime Alps), and the spokes do break and bend, but I get bits and bobs from Mavic, so for me no issue.

In the UK though they will take less abuse and you should b ok.. and they do look ace, and the mavic program means you get re built wheels as a “service”

worth the extra? over anything stan’s….Yes.. but a hope hub with the top end mavic tubeless rim will be my choice

saracen had a huge problem with production, they were suposed to be delivered in February…and are now only arriving.

Shame really as we wanted their bikes but in the end we went with nukeproof and to be honest they are very sinilar bikes.

I own rivierabike based on the western side of Liguria.. there is loads of riding available.

For accommodation hotel medusa as mentioned is right on the beach and Florenz is 1km inland in finalborgo a lovely walled mediaval village. Both are part of the Italy bike Hotels and have access to guides and have bike storage etc… florenz is owned by the president of the 24hr race..

for guides and shuttles contact finalefreeride.com or elicaride.com. In fnalborgo there is a bikeshop rivieraoutdoor.com they can also help with guides etc..

Also pick up the local 1:25000 map there are waymarked routes above the sea (Noli, Orco, Le manie, Varigotti) and it is possible to ride up to the Nato base if you have the lungs and do some of the rides…

As mentioned also contact Fulvio at alpidelmarefreeride.com for some riding in Calizzano faster better and not blown out like some of the finale trails…

Florenz should be able to help with airport transfers…Genova is about 30mins away… but ryanair are ba********

Problem with the traffic/vivaro/primastar is that they built with CAR components and NOT commercial components, you need the bigger vans for this, its one reason I got a fiat ducato over any other vans, its huge and boxy but the running gear and engine will go on forever….body panels and interior is another matter though!!!

I have friends who have had to replace gearboxes, cutches, alternators, loads of electric problems etc.. in the vivaro/trafic

If you are going to use it more as a car you should be fine, but second hand means they have had commercial use, so find out what its done…

At 70k the aternator will go, and look to replace a gearbox at 100-150K

A Lancia Fulvia HF rally replica…based on a 1.3S, 90hp from a nearly 40 year old 1.3 engine….5 speed gearbox too….way ahead of its time.

…..now in my garage with a silver 1.3s in standard form (for my mafia outings)

You get what you pay for, and if you can keep that in mind, you should be OK..

When I was yonger…and skint, I did very cheap boarding and bike holidays. 5 people cramped into a room, 1 bathroom for 10 people etc… but because it was cheap it was OK and the riding and skiing is still the same, so we had a grea time

These days I want creature comforts and prepared to pay more for it.

    Hi Jo

The LUST have thicker side walls so can be used for tubeless.

The EXO is just a new name for their single ply’s.

Jo’s bike has the LUST as she keeps pinch flatting the EXO ones.

OK got 40 litres of paint and some thinners.

I have wire brushed bits of the concrete and basically fired up a Stihl BR600 leaf (dust) blower and not a patch of dust or anything.

Questions are, how much should I thin the first coat?

Secondly what type of roller, the fluffy ones?

    Hey Stu

I would recommend you stop off at Nava/Calizzano on your way to the alps…awesome, like finale but not cut up and no germans 😀

Souz D’oulx seriously dont bother…bardonechia also….very badly set up half done italian style…when we were there they would only open one of the 3 lifts on alternate days… may have changed now when I had a right go at the head of alpibike resort..

Pila nd La Thuile are a must if heading to Les Arcs… Me and Jo will be spending 3 weeks around there in August so hopefully catch up.

There are tons of stuff over the border in france but be prepared to pedal..

Trek slash 9 on agrifoglio (a mental 9km descent) factory spec except for a 50mm sunline stem and hi roller II tyres.

Will convert to a single up front, some light E13 wheels and tubeless and BOS suspension… some other bits of weight saving and she should be about 29.5 pounds
