    Hi Megan,

I’m here, I just wish he was too.
    I miss him.
I’ll certainly aim to be there & I’ll ride over from Telscombe.

Hit me up if anyone wants to meet up & ride over – off-road from Woodingdean through Stanmer & down the Beacon should do it.

I messaged Mark after Christmas & this response is how I will remember him. Simon xx

Hello fella, your offer to come and comfort me with cake and acerbic conversation is damned tempting- alas, in my current state I don’t think I could. Not you I promise – but I don’t even resemble the superhero you make me out to be, and am currently a shameful shell of a man. My shame is great. You can, however continue on your punk-related expeditions and continuing to air them on FB as they cheer me immensely,,,,

    Be safe old friend x

    Thanks for coming everyone!

We had a great day putting it in for you.
I’ve just completed operation ‘clean sweep’ and there’s hardly anything left – you wouldn’t know that we’d been there!
Even the football pitch is in perfect nick and ready for some injury feigning activity.

We’ll announce next year’s date in November when B&H Council publish their 2016 Agenda – expect more thrills, spills and belly laughs. And a few nice surprises…

    Thank you!

Met Rob Colliver at 17:38 east of the A27 at Lewes & rode with him and Carl (his outrider) for a few miles before I flatted.
They’re now heading to Alfriston with an eta of a 38 hour-ish triple.
Aiming for the water tap on the A27 by Lewes at 23:30 on the 4th leg tonight & 54 hours est. total time. He’s remarkably clear & we chatted about the Tour Divide, kayaking & welding.
Photos on FB – search for me (name in profile).

Not your exact spec’ but I’ll mention it anyway, I have un-used Reba RL tapered Maxle forks for sale if you would like to make an offer:

I brought these new in January and I’ve never used them. They are boxed and they haven’t been fitted to a bike.

First time I’ve seen an in-line seat post on a Jones.
Would like to swing a leg over this at some point.

Tim – are you on your Jones tomorrow?

Thank you for all of your kind comments & general feedback.
We’ll have an event de-brief later this week – please post here if you have anything that should be considered for next year – BigDog 7th Edition.
We’re aiming for Saturday 8th August 2015 and that’s subject to Council approval in November.
    Patience required.

Thank you all again – we wouldn’t do it if you weren’t all so awesome! x

I don’t have the fat fork & run a 2.4 Ardent – suits me well and it could take a much wider 29 tyre.

    A slight hijack..

Does anyone from Brighton area fancy doing a smash ‘n’ grab raid to BikeFest?
Leave very early Sat am, ride 6 or 12 hour event then hightail it back home?

    Any interest?

    Hi Everyone,

Pleased to see so much interest & the usual suspects on this thread.

Saturday August 16th confirmed for the 6th edition with the after party at the Velo Cafe.
Course to be decided with safety, challenge, fun and being cool with all other park users as our priorities. More course details to follow in due course. Of course.
Nice mug colour this year and maybe a third marquee. I think that CX bikes are ok; not sure what wouldn’t be ok tbh.

Not much more to add at the moment – great to read your interest and enthusiasm.

    Cheers

Well I like it! Said Florence, hopefully.

Jeff Jones article very good; always enjoyed what I’ve read in it but I don’t always get the time to spend reading it that it deserves.

I can vouch for Hummerlicious’s credentials; he can’t half ride that there bike quickly around Stanmer Park – as seen at this year’s Brighton BigDog.

Thanks for your kind comments and feedback – you make it all worthwhile.
Glad the new course worked well for you all.

Well, I was on site at 6am and it was empty, lots happened, then I left an empty park again at 22:15.
    How did that happen?

    Same again next year?

    Thank you for coming. Peace.

Prestige Cycles will be there to fix stuff and they will carry limited spares but no Giant or Freedom Bikes this year so bike components will be limited. Contact Prestige now if you need them to bring anything for you to buy on the day.

Plenty of traders (Morvelo, Lazer, Marin, Apres Recovery Drinks, i-Ride, Privateer, Broken Riders, Mr Bamboo Man, Green Oil, Kinesis, Chickens, Exposure etc.) but no components as such – we did invite them but..

Food’s gonna be good again – Sue’s burgers ‘n’ things, Dinkycino coffee, Tea and home-made cakes in the marquee, Stone baked fresh Pizza, Hawaiian meats BBQ and Handlebar Juice (he cycles to pulp fruit, you drink).

Oh, some beer too (Dark Star), 3 separate masseurs and the Ride Journal DJ’s (spinning and tag team racing). Bring enough water with you.

Hi, really glad to hear that everyone’s looking fwd to it. We’re super excited with the new course.

The solo pit lane will be tighter for space this year because of the route being used back into the arena. We will be trying to squeeze more cars into a smaller area and we’ll insist this year (unlike previous years) that that area is for solo’s only and we’d prefer you to pit using the back of the car or a box rather than a gazebo in that area – but we’ll see how it goes. Please bear with us – the layout is new for us too and we genuinely need to configure it in a way that works for the majority.

We’re marking and taping the course from 11 tomorrow – please look ahead for us and add time to stop and day ‘hi’ – the actual day passes so quickly and we don’t always get the chance to spend time with everyone despite being on site between 6am and 22pm (last year anyway).

Still looking for general help in the Arena area if anyone’s at a loose end (my email is in my profile). And Rory, Nigel and me are trying to ride as a team of 3 this year – say ‘hello’ if you see us on the course.

    Woof woof!

No, super silly light at the front and skips around like an excited puppy until it’s been trained.
Carbon wheels probably don’t help in that respect; but my, does it climb & ‘float’ – a great bike, which will be even lighter when I go 1 x 10.

    Hi Clubber,

    I’m 6’2″ with a 33″ inside leg & I ride an XL DD at 58″ with a 110mm stem & an in-line seat post.
It’s really comfortable and I could play with a layback or a defferent stem but it fits ‘just right’ as it is.
I’m in Brighton if you’re ever around to swing your leg over it.
    Cheers
