I'm getting excited now. I work from home, just moved a TV into the office. Sales might be down for the second part of June 😆

We are a small company (3 UK and maybe 20 US employee's) and I know the people sending the mails so I'll keep it friendly but I do feel the need to reply……..

    A comment from the article:
The force has been using more conventional mountain bikes for years but say the BMX model is faster and easier to ride.[/quote]

I haven't ridden a BMX for years but I really think an MTB will be quicker?

I thought the world cup was last week and England won (the men's anyway)

Thanks for some of the info and comments!
Macavity, it is the US having ago at the Brit's, not all but some. I feel for them big time ref this disaster and every time it's on the news I feel a bit sick, however they do have this attitude of "it's not our fault – we are the worlds do-gooders, let's blame someone else"
Apparently there were anti UK demo's in Louisiana recently and it wasn't that long ago they were banning French wine.

    Gary_M – I don't really think it's all downhill, just a little attempted humour 😆

anokdale – I agree ref BP's failings but am sick of some of my colleagues superior approach and just want to let them know the US isn't so good on this front either.

Isn't it all downhill from JOG to Lands End? Going the other way is tough 😉

Why are so many people so anal about the George Cross? I'm not a particularly big footie fan (although I will be supporting England) and certainly not right wing.
It's our national flag and why is it wrong if people are happy to display it. When I lived in London (now in Devon) at the last world cup loads of different nationalities were displaying their flags on cards etc and I thought it looked great. Maybe more non right wing non football fans should fly it then it would lose it's current perception….

Is there a STW law saying no dogs to be mentioned on threads not originally about dogs? I bet cr*p in bags p1sses me off more than the mention of dogs on threads does you 😈

"Dog owners too, out in the country and they bag the dog shit…but leave the bag!!! The shit will dissolve after a few good rains…the bag will be there for hundreds/thousands of years. "

This REALLY bugs me. What is it with this? How stupid can you be to put the cr*p in a plastic bag then leave it, usually hanging off a tree. Words fail me

Thanks TJ, the general thing seems to be do it if it doesn't hurt. I have booked to go to Spain biking in Sept. If I can't ride for the summer then miss / not be fit for Spain I'll be sooo gutted. Have looked into going private but it's almost £2K 🙁

Same with me, popped in and out a couple of times. Was in when I went to the doc. It popped out again later so I called the doc. He said no physical exercise but it's already driving me mad! (Just got texts from friends as I write this asking if I'm riding tonight) It aches a bit when in and hurts when out (to the point it's difficult to walk)
I've just been told "do what you want but stop if it hurts" Gotta try a slow easy ride tomorrow and see what happens…

Difficult one this, I think kids nowadays get away with far too much due to many reasons including inadequate discipline and too many restrictions placed on teachers. I was a fairly disruptive kid and we had a couple of teachers we would antagonise to see how far we could push them. BUT I don't think you can go about hitting kids over the head with dumbells whilst employed as a teacher. (I presume he is no longer a teacher??) I know we don't know the full story but how would anyone on here feel if it was their child that was battered

    wasps do pollinate http://www.fs.fed.us/wildflowers/pollinators/wasps.shtml
however they also try to steal my sandwiches, drink my beer and sting me when I am riding my bike. My revenge is to kill them (but no torture)

I work from home 5 days a week in sales with maybe once a month a customer visit. I use the thought of commission to keep me working!!!! Sometimes it's cr*p but then I try to look at the positives. More time watching my kids grow up and more time out on the bike as no commmuting!

My son is 18 months old and seems to be heading towards vegetarianism! We can't get him to eat meat/fish, all he will take is the odd bit of fish in a stew and occasionally a bit of sausage. I eat meat 2-3 times a week and my wife maybe once a week so nothing to do with us. He does eat mountains of carrots and pasta though!

I was wondering whether soft bags would take the rigours of a flight and baggage handlers and the hard bags are soooo expensive
