yeah heard they aren’t for everyone and it would be my “most of the tiome bike” hence wanting to try one. I ride everything, prefer riding techy rooty stuff and hacking round the local trails.

thnx JPcapel, I’m 5’11” and 16″ frame sounds small (the Whyte is 18″) so would want to try on before laying out the cash methinks. I would be building it with my 150mm revs and an uppy downy!

I did not long ago (post below) was brilliant but a bit scary and as soon as you put your foot on the pedals it was very difficult to see as the rain was that heavy. We finally cut the ride short due to the lack of vision and one of our group questioning whether our battery operated night lights would attract lightening!

Hope. Did three years of winter riding mostly through the parts destroying “Woodbury grit” and just replaced one bearing!

I’m 5’11” – I tried the medium first (I have a medium Whyte) and it was too small, went for the large with a shorter stem (60mm) and felt perfick!

We are all making assumptions. Either they have lost a child due to extremely unfortunate circumstances and have to live with that guilt for the rest of their lives or they playing a strange game of keeping the case open and in the media spotlight. Whichever, some comments on here seem to take STW to another low. If I had lost my child and saw this thread I cannot comprehend what emotions and feelings would be pummelling me now!

Happens a lot in certain parts of Woodbury, we think it’s dog walkers. It’s always in the same small area. Small ones we can hop or build kickers to get over but they then drag huge ones and put them at the bottom of drop offs etc to ruin the flow 🙁
I wouldn’t mind so much but they do it on trials that are only there as bikers built them!!!!

My Joplin 4 has just gone back for repair for the second time – leaking oil. First time 2Pure had it back to me within a week of receipt so pretty good. It’s such a shame these seatposts have issues as when working they are an amazing product!

Screamadelica here, I think when it came out it was one of the best albums ever although Leftism is pretty awesome as well.

Didn’t know there was was going to be a storm and we did wonder if our lights would attract lightening! 😯 Woodbury is nice, good fun, I ride there regularly and love it.

Brilliant, only on STW. I cannot believe we have a 3 page thread on the delicacies of wiping ones arse! F to B man myself. Don’t make the mistake of checking the results after first wipe though – you leave the potential for a piece of poo to stick to the loo roll then flick into the air and land just about anywhere in the throne room being used!

The red and blue run are pretty bland but there is some techie off piste stuff, post up when you’re down and get a local to show you round

I don’t worry what anyone else thinks and yes I have a fairly agressive riding style, when combined with not great balance and a need for speed (when not going up) I wear if for my own good. I was interested to see what the “body armour is for pussies” brigade might say (or of course the resident trolls)

Cheers all, just got back from a quick local ride, looks like I have some listening to do!
Dez b – you can’t say UB40 killed reggae? Or am I missing something?
(and Bagariddim and TheUB40file are classic albums IMHO)

Cheers TJ, just found Richie Spice on you tube. I still see the odd “old timers” gig – seen Toots, Third World Sly & Robbie & a few othersin the last few years, I just wanted to see if there is anything new out there…………….

Live near Exeter, thanks for the offer, my brother lives in Bristol so I am up there ocassionally. I can’t afford one for at least a few months yet, (unless a used one comes up then I might have to break into the savings when Mrs nacho isn’t looking)

Thanks both, richc I ride at least 3x a week, a bit more in the summer although generally only 2 hour rides as I have 2 young children. Try to squeeze longer rides in during the summer when I can ( the odd day to Dartmoor/Afan/Quantocks)
I don’t need another bike but want one 😉 and the ASR-5 seems to has really grabbed my attention.

PMSL @ Ernie – “I like to consider them the Tories of the insect world : nasty mean-spirited greedy little feckers. Although labelling any of God’s creatures as such, probably isn’t fair”

No-one says how much they like (or not) their ASR-5’s – any feedback please? I am contemplating one as my next purchase (just gotta keep trying to save or wait for used ones to become available) and am interested on peoples thoughts. I currently ride a Lge SC Heckler and M Whyte 19 HT. Used to have a Whyte E5.

Just got a set of Wellgo mg-1’s, £25 delivered from Hong Kong via e-bay. One of my mates has the wellgo’s on one bike and Vaults on the other. Due to massive difference in cost he says there is only one winner!
