This is sick. I ride with my dog and whilst it is very unlikely she would get in a cyclists way she is an incredibly friendly animal and might run up to say hello. If you kicked her you’d be getting a boot back!
Another yes from me. I have them as my summer riding shoe and also use them when cycling into town as they are great to walk around in. Had mine 18 months and still in excellent nic
New Sids which i just got back from being put up to 120. Still waiting on cranks, shifter and wheels to arrive…annoying but it will be a very, very long time before i ever splash out on a build like this again so will be worth the wait i hope!
I did a goat curry with hunks of goat from the local butcher the other weekend. Marinaded the meat in spices over night then whacked it in with a load of veg after browning and went out riding for the day. So awesome to come home to a meal when you’re starving and tired!
Flight mode worked a treat in the Surrey hills today! Loads of battery left after 6 hours of strava and the added bonus of no pesky phone calls interrupting my ride!
Mikertroid there is no cost to a new phone as I’m due an upgrade but really wanted to know if anyone has experienced battery life with strava with new HTC as my other half has no issues using the iPhone 4.
I get what you’re saying about having a proper gps but i’m trying to avoid spending yet more money on this ‘hobby’ and i really like the Strava app and loading the results up on the go rather hooking it up to the computer and having one less gadget to charge and remember to pack…although i surpose christmas isn’t that far off!
Alas not yet. Waiting on parts to arrive. Actually can anyone recommend me some wheels to compliment this build? Want nice light tubeless ready but not sure what to go for. I’m not a particularly aggressive rider…
I bought a tin of dulux the other day but have to take it back as mine seems to be missing an old English sheep dog…it’s just full of paint. Not the bargain I was expecting…
I have been using xo grip shift with a 2 by 10 set up for a year and a half now. I had to trim the grips down so I could reach my brakes but they are working well and I’ve never shifted unintentionally. I am about to do another build with xo1 but think I’m gonna go trigger purely because I think it looks nicer and less uneven than having one grip shift on the bars.
Me and the other half spend most of our disposable income on bike related stuff. But then neither of us want kids so I guess that makes it a lot easier. About to set foot in the land of mortgages soon though so might have to rein it in a bit : (
No dropper for this one as want it to be mega light, rear mech will be Sram xo1…will post pics of the finished article but it may be some time. Well done Kinesis!
Think 15 might be a bit small. Best to try for size before buying. You can play with things like tyres later. Carbon bars and seat post will also help soak up vibes. I got into riding in a big way 2 years ago started out with an old alu hardtail with old fashioned race geometry which was harsh on rough stuff and not fun downhill so a year ago invested in a full on expensive full susser trail bike and don’t get me wrong its lovely and comphy on fast technical singletrack but its a heavy climber so I still end up opting for my old hardtail for longer cross country rides. As riding is now my main passion I’m going the whole hog and building the 3rd dream bike over the next few months. It will be a ti framed hard tail so the best of both worlds I hope. Good luck choosing. Best thing you can do is demo some bikes.
It does really sound like a hard tail would be better suited to what you described. Bonus is much lighter so easier uphill, get more for your money and less maintenance which is good if you’re inexperienced..if you get a carbon hardtail it will still soak up some of the trail vibrations….
Mucky nutz for looks and minimal mud reduction, stops most mud from flicking up in your face and is so neat i left mine on all summer but you still get mud up your shorts.
Right i’ve changed my mind about 10 times now but fox and endura are off the list and Gore is on. Would rather spend a bit more if they are actually going to work…
