    How bizarre!

Anyone else noticed that Alice seems to get really pissed quite often these days? I reckon they might be setting her up for a story line of alcoholism in the future.

I feel I have to stand up for Mrs OOB, she deffo works more than her peer group in what I regard as a proper job, but I still resent the accusation that I’m the lucky one who is oppressing her when I’d be delighted for her to work 7 days a week if she wanted.

Where has anyone said you are oppressing her?

I think things have got a little confused in this discussion. Just being a white male doesn’t necessarily make you more privileged than a white female. Wealth has a lot of influence on the outcome. I happen to be a white female and because of family wealth and a good foot on the ladder plus lots of hard work I feel extremely privileged and have no grudges to bare. We need to stop bringing up individual examples of either a privileged women or unprivileged man in this argument to argue a point which is not about an individual person but an overall group.

Things are going in the right direction and equality hopefully will get there at some point benefiting both men and women along the way.

Hopefully the changing of traditional roles means there will be less unhappy men feeling they are carrying the burden of work but this requires more work on equality in the business world and around maternity and child care costs.

Just had a quick Google and couldn’t see anything about it being withdrawn apart from a petition someone started. Beech has been taking it for 6 months with no issues and we just picked more up a few weeks ago. Her vet is a personal friend of mine and we got beech as a puppy from a friend of his so I trust he wouldn’t do anything to risk her health but will ask him about it next time I see him.

I like a good Thai massage. The stronger the better. Will be a bit sore the next day but feels like it’s doing good releasing the tension build up from manual labour job.

Bills. I went to the first one before it became a chain then went years later to a different one and it was an even better eating experience.

I was served chunks of spam in a pork belly noodle soup type dish the other day (It had real pork in too) from the non western part of a Chinese restaurant menu. Wasn’t expecting it but it was fairly edible.

What are the walls between your neighbours like they could be coming in that way if easier. Almax chains and extra screaming padlocks. I assume the bikes are already covered or would be rusty mess?

Homemade soup. Was beetroot, orange and coconut milk last time. Would love to have tea but just tastes rank to me when it’s been in the flask stewing so sometimes take hot squash.

Have it come on to 18.5 for a hour before getting up time to make climbing out of bed easier. Set to 14 as a minimum but very rare the house drops below 16 with heating off in day or overnight. On manual from about 4.30 till 10.30 between 19 and 20 depending on whether moving about doing chores or lying watching TV. Stays off if we fire up the wood burning though and living room will be around 23 with that on and the rest of the house 18ish. Bedrooms all have thermostatic rads so lower temps up there.

Fortunatly these dinosaur head in sand poor little men types are dying out. Can’t happen too soon

Yep I don’t know any in real life. They just pop up here occasionally but thankfully are far outweighed by more modern thinking men.

Yep. The aim of equalizing it is fair. Suddenly changing it with little notice is not. A more phased approach would have been better.

    Nail on head.

Yep Cape cod and Martha’s vineyard. Ate whole lobster and swam at the beach where they filmed jaws. Have American family so will be going again at Xmas.

Awesome! I wonder if clubs are quieter these days due to h and s. I definitely have hearing damage from a particular night at fabric a long time ago. Also noticed smelly people and emptier clubs after the ban as half the audience would be outside smoking at any time.

Doubly jealous of you seeing Roni size and being in Perth! Bet the weather is better than here today.

Saw him at Ashton Court festival in Bristol and New forms was the 1St d and b music I ever bought. Enjoy.

3 halves?! Not trying hard enough! There was a thread on this a while back which caused me to buy a toasty machine. Sausage and ketchup is lush.

I’m pretty sure I’ve had dim sum at China China in the eve. Can’t imagine gars not doing it in the eve either but maybe drop them a message if not sure.

James I don’t follow any blogs but the Facebook page ‘restaurants Brighton ‘ has heaps of reviews and write ups of the best and newest restaurants and food pubs local to Brighton. Picked up many a new place to try from that.

Gars if you want a more modern take on Chinese food in a nice setting and easy access in central Brighton amongst all the shops and pubs.

China China for a more authentic but much more basic setting and a little further out from the centre but on Preston Street which is packed with restaurants whose menus you can check out.

Other excellent places to eat Asian/Indian cuisine include Moshimo for japanese so could get gyoza instead of dim sum.

Chilli pickle is my absolute favourite for Indian and they do momos which are Nepalese steamed dumplings (I think)

Indian summer and curry leaf cafe are close second.

To be honest I could write an essay on good places to eat as I’m a foodie and making it my mission to work my way through Brighton’s best places to eat.

64 degrees is just a stunning if you want to spend a bit more and experience modern dining in an informal setting. Gets very booked up though.

Shoes, poo bags, ball thrower, wet coats till they are dry enough to come inside. Porch not big enough or heated enough to keep nice coats in all the time.

Good watch that video! 30k profit for running all that seems crazy. The risk of losing money with all that kit, premises and staff seems insane. You could clear 30k as a sole trader doing all sorts of things without all the risk and commitment that comes with being an employer.

Read this from start to finish and felt at times both sides were in the wrong or right.

Glad to see OP may take something away from this experience and be a bit more cautious with spending in future and good luck to you with getting back on track in whatever work you end up in.

Maybe Ling will think about clarifying her contracts and cancellation fees and check up on the legality of the cooling off to avoid future hassles like this too…

I was thinking the same op. His crusade is nothing new and will make no difference. If he really wants to help his restaurant staff he needs to look at the hours that hospitality staff work as coke and booze are rife in the industry as are long late hours and not enough days off plus low wages.

Also agree prohibition is not working and legalisation, regulation and education are the way forward. Remove the monopoly of the black market and the suffering in Colombia will reduce eventually.

Those using spread because you can’t spread butter from the fridge. Seriously guys get a butter dish and don’t keep your butter in the fridge. Spreads like a dream (advice suited to UK residents) if you’re in Australia you don’t need butter to be happy you have sunshine.

You have liability insurance to protect YOU, not your customers.

Absolute tosh. It’s also for if we cause damage to other peoples property or person during our work. My insurer recently paid out for a customers broken car window with no quibble whatsoever.

Your plumber should have public liability insurance for this. Don’t use yours why on earth should you? I am self employed accidents happen and that’s why we have insurance.

Also next time you have a leak you can’t source or stop immediately turn off your water at the stop cock so further damage can’t continue whilst you sort it. The ceiling could have come down leaving it like that.

Omg I had totally forgotten about that! I was 11 and had no experience of watching anything supernatural and I completely believed it was real. By the end I was in tears and really scared and it was only at the very end in the studio that my mum realised what I was watching and told me it wasn’t real but I was distraught by then. I have never liked supernatural horror since then.

Edit wow just read the article! No idea that there was such a back lash. At least I wasn’t the only one to be sucked in then! I remember Sarah green vividly but can’t remember Craig Charles! Perhaps I hadn’t watched red dwarf at that point.

Usually do this however I’ve had so many chillies this summer that I now have a years or 2 supply in the freezer, made into chilli oil and chilli and garlic paste and the plants are infested with green fly that I can’t shift. So thinking of ditching and starting again next year. Peruvian lemon drop if anyone wants to try them they are beautiful bright yellow fruit and hot and fruity taste.

Thought it was awesome. First hour I’d give 10 out of 10. Based on the whole film I’d say 9. Was totally immersed from the first scene which 3d at imax had me mouth hanging open and wide eyed. Cinematography stunning and sound track great. Not many films have me pondering after but this left me thinking about a few things. Did think it felt rather set up for a 3Rd film but can’t really blame them considering the costs these days.

Is deckard a replicant or is he human and therefore the child the 1st hybrid was one thing I was pondering….

In Brighton it went from a normal dull day to so dark all the street lights and solar garden lights came on in the space of 15 mins at about 3pm… I went to see bladerunner at imax last night and thought I’d been transported to that opening scene I even had the ominous soundtrack playing in my head actually got a little panicky the sun had died or something!

The salad we get in our veg box keeps for 2 weeks. It hasn’t been washed which is why it doesn’t go slimy like supermarket stuff. Maybe try buying from a grocer if it’s unwashed?
