Good news for once!

I had my 1st ever joint age about 16 at a party with my mum. I noticed some friends of hers smoking it and I asked her if I could get a go as I was interested to see what it felt like. We talked about it and her only concern was the tobacco aspect and that I might get hooked on cigarettes as she had once been a fag smoker. So she asked her friend to roll a pretty pure one and I just had a couple of little puffs and felt great. Had she said no I would have gone underground with it and done it anyway with school friends but because of her attitude I feel I can share most things with her. I went through the uni weed phase and now 20 years on don’t touch the stuff and never smoked cigarettes.

Don’t be a hypocrite. Just sit down and voice any concerns you have about it and don’t make it a rebellious thing.

If she doesn’t enjoy it or never really did then I would stop fighting it and suggest selling the bike. If it’s down to other reasons like falling out of the habit and struggling to get back into it due to fitness and mental hurdles then talk to her about a way back in maybe new bike or ebike and build it up gradually starting local rather than holiday trail trail centres and uplift which can be very intimidating when you’ve not ridden much. When I was just getting into biking my oh persuaded me into biking holidays abroad and whilst they did help my progression in a in at the deep end kind of way they left me bruised and battered, tired and anxious quite a lot of the time and though I love riding now I actually prefer my holidays to be about relaxing with a little bit of cycling perhaps.

Muslims won’t have dogs in their houses as they think they’re filthy animals. They’re right.

They may be but studies have found people with dogs have stronger immune systems so them being dirty is a good thing.

I  stole a small plastic figure from another child when I was aged 5. I was so racked with guilt and fear afterwards that was the day I hung up my loot bag and life of crime. Can’t even take a pub glass these days!

I have the same recurring dream! Sometimes it’s a levels sometimes degree I got good results in both. A more recent development in my dream I’m sitting the exams and have done no study whatsoever but I’m totally carefree about it because I know that I’ve gone on to be a self employed gardener and didn’t need any qualifications and i’m so happy to being at uni but without the stress!

Excellent well I’m sure the dog will be ok for a bit longer. Heading off tomorrow! Can’t wait for a bit of proper wilderness as I’ve never been that far north and it will be nice to get away from the crowded south coast for a while.

Not done that well since summer kicked in and work/doing fun outdoor stuff overtook time to spend on homemade things although we bought a natural sponge for the dishes but haven’t tried it yet as finishing up the pack of scourers we had. Switched my dog onto raw food diet and it comes in compostable cartons so no more tins or plastic food sacks. Stopped buying clingfilm and use tuperware or put a plate over things or use a plastic bag that has been saved from something else like empty pasta bag etc. Tried shampoo bar but it made my hair horrible so abandoned that.

It’s been a great one but I am gutted it’s over as I truely felt I came alive during that heatwave (so did my tortoise and she’s hardly left her greenhouse since the weather changed). Not to be ungrateful but it was a bit of a shock when it came crashing to an end in August as was hoping for another good month or so but it’s been cool windy and rainy the last few weeks. I think I may be part tortoise as I feel like hibernating in winter and my routine changes from outside nearly all the time with loads of energy to not wanting to go out much and fireing up the wood burner and xbox.

Just near Mungasdale round the bay from you! Something we can do in 4  to 5 hours max as we’ll be leaving the dog behind. Not to fussy on type of riding bit of xc scenic or techy trails are both welcome.

Yes the trails over Leith are definitely worth a ride. There’s several nice fast flowy ones north of the rhody maze mentioned. If standing at the tower looking north head into the trees to the north  west or take a look on Strava.

Try to avoid agencies they are a total rip off. Try spare room.com. I find all my tenants that way and they have all been great.

Definitely report to vets/shelters. I have a friend of my dad’s who’s only company at home was his big tabby and he went missing 2 months ago. He is so sad and constantly posting on Facebook how he’s been to look at a cat at the shelter that might be his and it never is. It would have been so nice for him to have closure but I fear someone hit him and he’s probably in a bush or bin.

I don’t think there’s any legal requirement for your neighbour to look after your side especially if there is no access. My mum recently went halves with a neighbour though to keep relations good when he wanted her conifer hedge cut right back so none came over to his side even though it is miles from the house and doesn’t cause much shade on his huge garden.

Let us know how it goes when you’ve chatted to the neighbours though. As a gardener myself I see so many disputes.

It doesn’t sound that accessible from their property? If you have hedges and trees bordering neighbours gardens do you go round to their side to cut them when you do your side?  Surely the done thing is to maintain what is on your side whether or not it originates in your garden?

Oh there is a river running down Ditchling Road… tyre changes might be a good idea but have a feeling there will be plenty of offs!

If I’m doing a night ride I have a bigger meal at lunchtime and then a smaller meal like a sandwich and crisps at about 5 so you could maybe eat with the little one? I always feel bad if I eat too much to close to the group ride as it’s not slow.

I’m enjoying a great glut of Japanese wine berries. Like little raspberries but a more subtle flavour.

Exactly what I was thinking! Also It’s not about politics or opinions. It’s a fact that being homophobic is not acceptable today but that people have suffered in very recent history but that they no longer have to suffer due to loving the wrong type of person.
