I’ve been several times. I really like it. Split is a nice place to visit. Good weather, nice countryside and coast line and really good fresh seafood.

It’s so important and can have a big effect on weight gain too. I get 7 to 9 hours most of the time. Your previous setup sounded horrendous! If I have an early start for some reason I make sure everything is done the night before (pack lunch, shower whatever else) so as to maximise time in bed in the morning then I can be up and out in 30 mins with time for tea and toast.

It’s freezing in my loft too but the unit is in the hall and that’s the only place I notice it being slightly cooler. As others have said it’s easier to heat dry air than damp air but it does sound like you might want your heating on a bit more. Piv was no more than £300 fitted easily ourselves and if you’re really worried about cold air you can get the one which warms the air before pushing it in. This is what I have in the rented property but in my own it’s not heated. Our bedroom in the eaves is very poorly insulated and noticeably colder than the rest of the house which was where the black mould was worst as the moist air finds the coldest places to condense. Also if you’re worried about running costs I would think several dehumidifiers would cost much more to run and more faff than one Piv unit. Seems silly to use something to remove moisture from the air when you could just push that moist air out of your house instead.

I don’t spray mine either actually. I just water it a tiny amount once a month or something. It’s in a small ramakin in a gritty soil.

Yes very easy. I do almost nothing to mine and it’s multiplying.

If it is condensation the positive pressure ventilation is what you want. I’ve got it in mine and a rental property and it works miraculously. No messing about with dehumidifiers. If it’s still a bit damp after a good few months get decent extractor fans put in bathroom and kitchen

We had an albino stag almost run into the side of the car recently on the a27. Utterly breath taking as I looked it square in the eye.

Why do you need bags for the freezer cinnamon? Can’t you use tupeware? Would have thought it stacks better and better for reheating in microwave?

If you think it’s going to hurt then it hurts more. If you can’t afford spend private dentists with nice drugs try and dose yourself up beforehand with valium or whatever you can get your hands on.

But no one is saying that. Not really sure what the argument is about. Most obesity is caused by over eating and under exercising but a scientific study shows there is a genetic component that can affect some people making it harder or easier for them to lose weight compared to others. Hardly controversial and no one is saying that means people can give up trying.

A zero waste shop is opening down the road from me so I should be able to start buying cleaning /washing products there, taking my own bottles and also dried goods like grains, nuts and seeds. It will take a bit of discipline though to not just buy everything at the supermarket in one big shop as I currently do. I hope they are not ridiculously overpriced though as that will make it a harder decision.

Doesnt mean it was good for her

Life would be very dull if we just applied a set of rules about what is good for us and our children/pets and rigidly stuck to that. Is beer good for you? Are sweets good for your children? I love my dog with all my heart and I decided that she could come on some bike rides with me which she loved. Those rides were tailored to her not my usual riding. As she aged I made the decision that she could no longer do those so please get off your high horse. Same to the usual preachers telling us dogs can’t be controlled or safe whilst riding. May be true of some trail dogs or owners but as with anything there are irresponsible people in every sector and you may have met them doesn’t mean you ban all because of the few. My dog was actually most well behaved whilst cycling as she loved it so much and was so focused on the trail that she would ignore everything else but me and the bike.

Do you think there’s a link?
Dogs are for walking with not biking with imo.
Not particularly. 60% of dogs over 8 years of age have arthritis and it was absolutely her favourite thing in the world to do so I’m glad she got to experience it for the majority of her life.

I got this just before red dead came out and got very frustrated and gave up on 1st boss! Then red dead arrived and I was happy to just play that instead.

Lemon, ginger and honey are antiseptic/anti inflammatory. Chicken soup make with proper chicken stock and lots of garlic is apparently antiviral. Avoid lempsips and drugs to bring your temperature down unless you are desperate. The fever is your bodies response to the virus it is making you the host an unpleasant place to stay so if you counteract that you may actually make your cold last longer. Your body needs you to rest so look after yourself eat well, drink plenty of hot drinks and try to sleep. Good luck 🤞

15 miles on the bike might be a bit much especially in summer. My lab has had to retire from biking now she’s 9 and has arthritis but she used to do up to 10 miles OK. They will run themselves to death though so you have to be careful. My friends long legged lurcher, cross collie type dog could do mega miles on the bike until recently and he’s 12 now.

It terms of managing to feed 5 on a budget look up bootstrap Cook on Facebook or find her blog/cook book. She’s an amazing woman who has been in the situation of surviving on £10 a week for food. Her recipes are all priced out per portion and use really cheap ingredients and the cheapest cooking techniques (so as not to waste gas and electric) to produce really tasty and nutritious meals.

How did you get £80 per hour? Even if it did only take 3 hours that’s £65 and hour before paying to get rid of and the time to drive to the green waste site. Height of the tree really isn’t an indicator of how long it would take. A fairly young tree might have only take an hour if it was previously well looked after but a really old tree that hadn’t been touched in years could take ages. Pruning apple trees can be very fiddly and you do need to know what your doing if you want decent fruit and a good shape for the future.

I did my 1st ever mtb holiday with roost in malaga. It was in at the deep end for me. Super loose and rocky… I was black and blue by the end. Think I would fair a lot better now!

I’m enjoying Wanderlust at the moment. British comedy drama with Vod from fresh meat and Muriel from Muriels wedding plus Paul Kaye who I’ve always liked.

I’m really enjoying a random Sci fi purchase called Rosewater. About halfway through and it’s making a great holiday read. A bit unusual for Sci fi as it’s set in Nigeria.

I’m there at the moment halfway through a 3 week trip. Gatwick-dubai-Perth is not too bad actually we are based in Fremantle near Perth with family but are currently on a week trip 13 hours drive north in Exmouth. World heratige site, national park Ningaloo reef has blown me away. Stunning beaches, warm aquamarine water and the most amazing snorkeling ever. I didn’t know which way to turn my head once I got under just thousands of multicoloured, all shapes and sizes of fish, turtles, octopus, stunning coral formations all just a few feet from the beach. You’ll need a car for this though as lots of driving about is involved. We also seen wild kangaroos and Emu’s which visited our holiday house.3 years ago on a similar visit we went South instead and stayed in Margaret River which was a lovely quirky place and again awesome beaches, more surf down there and heaps of vineyards and lovely restaurants if you’re a foodie. I’ve not seen the other side of Australia so can’t comment on that but yes in WA there are long distances between things.

Pub no restaurant yes. Some of my favourite pubs are very old, quirky places and drunk people tend to destroy a toilet pretty quickly. A nice restaurant on the other hand should be able to manage to keep there loos and their customers in line.

Enjoy. I’ve done 4 day week for the last year so started same age as you. One great thing I find is that you can save some of the money you lose in pay by having the time to do stuff that saves you money. In my case DIY such as painting my house, growing my own veg, making my own sourdough, time to shop well and cook from scratch, not needing the dog walker as much the list goes on. I think it’s a great way to have a more balanced, healthy life.
