Thanks Tired nice to hear a voice of reason rather than the panicked doom mongers who post relentlessly negative comments and go into overdrive around each relaxation phase. So where is the spike that was predicted from the last set of relaxations? Numbers have consistently gone down albeit rather slowly. Yes there will be localised break outs in all countries that have not completely closed down borders and isolated themselves. We are going to live with this thing but hopefully we are getting better at treating it and it may be getting less deadly.

Looks like you got lots of great answers already but if you ever need more specific help and don’t want to spam stw with the endless the questions you’ll no doubt have I’d join the motorhome fun forum. It’s a really well built site and even does fancy things like remembering where you were up to on a thread!

Make sure to ignore all the sub forums on there as it’s full of right wing gammon dross but the motorhome section has been invaluable to us as recent 1st time motorhomers. One very knowledgeable guy even came over to ours to help us out with an issue we had.

I believe your van would be classed a motorhome rather than a campervan with the body type you have. Good luck! We’ll be up to Scotland in ours for some wilding next Spring hopefully but until then we are heading to the continent.

Yes I’ll be visiting but probably outside only and not if it looks too crowded.

Massive attack, zero 7 and Portishead for me this lockdown. Lovely and took me back to uni days.

Bbq and a bonfire in the garden. Already paid tribute to the stones at Avebury a couple of weeks ago.

When are you thinking of going? We’re heading to Bourg in mid July and will be riding around there for a week with Bike Village but will then be spending several weeks guiding ourselves around there but also throughout the alps. If you want to keep in touch and our paths align then drop me a pm.

Not sure why 5lab feels the need to preach at you as you’ve not mentioned a travel date and sorry to break it to you 5lab but non essential journeys in England have been allowed for weeks now! Trips to the beach to sunbath, drive through Mcdonalds anyone?

I’d knock the Frisbee on the head now. I used to do loads of ball throwing for my extremely high energy lab and now she has bad arthritis in her elbows and has medication for it.

Doesn’t sound too bad but depends on size of those meals. Is there half a bottle of mayo in the tuna? How big is the portion of granola or pasta?

I love food and at the moment it is often the highlight of my day apart from riding bikes which I do about 3 times a week and daily dog walks.

I eat 2x home made slice sourdough toast with butter, marmite and cottage cheese. Tea with dash of milk.

Lunch is homemade sourdough pitta with ham or cheese, butter, squirt of mayo and salad, bag of crisps and if riding a cereal bar or a noodle soup bowl with veg and cashews.

Dinner anything you can imagine but favs are stir fry, curry, sausages (3)and mash, salmon, veg and mash, hallumi or mackeral salad with spuds or grains, pizza, pasta pesto and veg, fajitas, bbq etc. A good sized plate full of food and if we’re being good a yogurt pot and glass of squash or bad cheese and crackers with apple and grapes. Booze 3 nights per week about 3 to 4 small cans of cider or half bottle of wine occasionally. If i could reduce portions or cut down on cheese and butter a bit I’d like to lose a couple of kg to be an ideal weight but i like my food too much so it’s a trade off.

Booked on the chunnel for 6th July, bike holiday in Bourg from 18th. After reading about Huttopia on here i think we’ll book up for a few days there if they have space.

3 or 4 times a day? Sounds like maybe too much in these temperatures

Yes the voluntary quarantine will hopefully be dropped when we drop ours in a few weeks fingers crossed and Portugal asked to be left out apparently…

I’m still very hopeful we’ll get to France in July in our motorhome. I’m keeping an eye out for the French opening their borders and as our numbers are continuing in a good direction it’s much more likely they’ll include us as well as their eu neighbours.

Absolutely. I have been riding lots of the Ridgeway recently and so looked up the history. people have been using it to travel for thousands of years and it’s covered in hillforts and earthworks. Today we rode to Avebury stone circle which is 6000 years old. I find it very therapeutic to think about.

It’s been really dry and the lawn will be stressed after that much scarification. Water regularly try some top dressing and reseeding but it can be hard to get going if it stays this dry and hot.

Full time van living myself at the moment. House rented out was meant to be an epic year out round uk, Europe and Morocco but instead many paranoid feelings if we even venture out to get food or gas for the motorhome because of people like op. Not fun.

Well if an ‘unintended consequence’ is holding up wave 2 too long then you might have a point.

Well yeah exactly we don’t want wave 2 in December plus flu do we?!

Not seen any unlockdown madness around here and personally I’m feeling fairly positive about things and believe we needed a bit of extra freedom to combat the unintended consequences of full lockdown.

There will always be some idiots but that will have been taken into account in the planning.

People may exercise outside as many times each day as they wish. For example, this would
include angling and tennis. You will still not be able to use areas like playgrounds, outdoor gyms or
ticketed outdoor leisure venues, where there is a higher risk of close contact and touching
surfaces. You can only exercise with up to one person from outside your household – this means
you should not play team sports, except with members of your own household.
People may drive to outdoor open spaces irrespective of distance, so long as they respect
social distancing guidance while they are there, because this does not involve contact with people
    outside your household.

I thought you could meet one person outside, but stay 2m away not that I could go for a ride with someone?

Just read it in the 50 page document shared above.

So no limit on driving to exercise and you can exercise with one person not in your household.

I would probably just turf it and use a strimmer to cut that bit of lawn. Keep it very well watered till established.

Gower looks promising and appeals to me. Bristol is out lived there for uni and want to be somewhere totally new and much more rural and cheaper! Driving is not an issue as we have the motorhome so could even overnight at good ride spots I’d love to explore North Wales also.

Bike ride? Look on os maps app for a new walk in your local area? Bbq or go all out and do yourself a fakeaway. With time on my hands i looked up how to recreate the kebab shop experience lamb and chicken sheish kebabs with garlic sauce, chilli sauce, all the salad trimmings plus chips. It was fun and delicious. Zoom board game with mates.. We’ve done trivial pursuits and pictionary, or just have a zoom piss up with your pub mates.

I made a nice one a while back which was white cabbage, carrot, caraway and cardomen. Called it my 4 c’s kraut. Dont overdo the spices. You will need a lot of veg to fill your 4 pint jar more than you would think as you don’t want more than an inch of airspace left at the top or more likely to mould. Use a Gu pudding ramekin in the top of the jar to keep the veg pressed below the brine. If on Facebook check out uk fermenting friends for recipes, advice.

They have the potential to be fine with all that but it comes down to training and having plenty of time to invest in the puppy. I have a black lab now 10 and a half she was fine with cat although wanted to play when young but cat is boss now. Not much chewing, a few bins raided in the night was a phase, they hate to be left but will put up with it if well exercised.
