Good luck it’s awful seeing them in pain/unwell. My 12 year old lab has just bounced back after removal of a tumour of the spleen weighing 1.5kgs. So relieved to see her back to normal.

Re Australia I was rather shocked after a facetime with my sister in law the other day in which I was saying I hoped we could see them before too long and how was vaccination going over there? only for her to say she wasn’t going to be getting a vaccine any time soon because of the blood clots and lack of vaccine testing and that this was quite wide spread thinking within oz because they is no hurry due to levels of covid being non existent. I get where they are coming from to some extent but if she and others don’t get on and get vaccinated how does she expect Australia to open up and for her to ever see her siblings and parents again? I said that our perspective over here is that until the whole world is vaccinated this isn’t over and that it’s a team effort so perhaps she’ll think about it as she’s a sound and intelligent person.

Less on hair, makeup, clothes and shoes and a lot of things tbh.
More hmmm apart from bikes. Perhaps meat (local/free range) though eat it less often so meat bill overall is probably average, milk (organic) and pet medicines(expensive cbd oil and tablets for the dogs arthritis), knifes and other kitchen ware possibly.

I spent 5 months in Portugal last Autumn winter and found the walking very disappointing on the whole. There are some nice bits but we didn’t find a a huge amount of footpaths and a lot of the landscape is very sandy and scrubby. The coast and cliffs around Sagres are stunning though.

We have found Wikilok essential for finding walks and rides in Europe. It is similar to Kamoot and wherever you find yourself you can search for walks that people have uploaded.

Call my agent-not watched a French series before but it’s really enjoyable and funny. The actors are really good and the characters are really varied and interesting. I enjoy listening to the French language also as I’m trying to learn it.

Firefly lane, Behind her eyes, Grand Army (powerful teen drama covering some difficult issues facing young people today), Snow piercer fun but ridiculous.

That’s a shit response from the owner op. Not on at all. Why do so many people have a complete failure of being able to apologise for doing something wrong? I’ve had similar experiences with drivers who have **** up but when you give a little wave or beep to make them aware of you they f and blind and blare their horn back like it was actually you that did something wrong.

Got to say though that Larry’s response has made me feel physically sick and scared for humanity as anyone can make an error in dog training and responsibility from time to time and they shouldn’t need to live in fear of some nutter killing their dog because of their error.

My lab at 11 is now fully trained and doesn’t bother other people or dogs that don’t want her attention but as a puppy I’m sure there was the odd embarrassing moment where she slipped from my control briefly.

The same goes with the training of children to be reasonable human beings. Accidents happen and sometimes a child might annoy or upset a stranger and it wouldn’t be acceptable to pummel them to death in response. If Larry has that big a phobia of dogs that his default response is murder i suggest some therapy is in order to help control these responses.

Thanks for that edukator. As a fit, healthy, low covid risk 39 year old taking oc for medical reasons I’m currently weighing up the risk/benefits. I’m thinking by the time im offered a jab it may well have changed to avoid az anyway but we’ll see.

Yeah that’s nuts. Anyone self employed on 12 per hour will be on less than minimum wage once expenses, holiday and sick are taken into account. It’s this kind of thing that means i never charge by the hour anymore. Look at the job and give a set price so the tight wads can’t pick over your hourly worth.

Never had a set price quote turned down. People always seem happy with the price for the work they see in front of them but they are sometimes suprised by how quickly i complete it and i know some would have declined the quote if I’d given an hourly price. But after spending thousands on the best tools and 15 years honing my skills I can do more work for the same money than uncle pete at £10 an hour cash in hand with his B and q lawn mower.

I love gardening! It’s my job and I still love doing my own garden. Don’t know where you live but weather here looks shite. Gales and freezing cold all weekend. Great excuse to stay inside and be lazy. If she’s that keen maybe she can crack on with it?

Similar to op apart from socks for non sporting use get several days and sheets maybe up to 3 weeks. Neither of us are particularly sweaty, smelly people. Other half doesn’t even need to wear deodorant ever and doesn’t get bo.
I like to think it helps the environment and clothes last longer.

How will the vaccine stop him spreading it? If he touches a surface with covid on, he doesn’t kill the virus. The virus just can’t live on him any longer than an inanimate surface. For example if he shakes hands with 3 people and the first has covid, he could spread it to the other 2.

It might not stop him spreading it 100% and i didn’t suggest such but it’s thought that it will massively reduce the chances of spread mainly because he’s much less likely to catch it and the vast majority of spread is airborne not from surfaces.

46 year old friend of mine was asked to book his last week, no health conditions yet i know plenty in the same town older and not contacted yet. I’m quite irritated actually as he’s very anti mask, lockdown etc and doesn’t follow the rules. He does work on a rich families’ private super yacht in the Med in season so maybe they pulled some strings. I suppose it’s no bad thing if he gets his vac sooner as he is more likely to be a spreader.

St colin Start small and build up the socialisation. Hopefully it will come naturally in time especially as the weather improves. Try to ignore the constant stream of doom and gloom news reports. We live in a very safe part of the world and you really are at very low risk of anything nasty happening. It’s just that every tiny little thing is being picked up and broadcast as soon as it happens rather than us being blissfully unaware of stuff.

I’m quite worried actually about how this is going to affect people with anxiety, depression, OCD etc going forwards. Are the media going to report on every new bug or virus that arises anywhere in the world now and keep people on a constant state of nervous tension…

They always rise as the week progresses. They have fallen each day though compared with the same day last week so actually cases are still falling. This is a good source for keeping track.

Le Crotoy was a lovely spot for a couple of nights this July gone. Lot’s of nice restaurants, fresh fish stalls. If you go for an explore you can forage your own samphire too.

I imagine the cases rising in the last few days is the result of testing millions of schoolkids?

Cases rising where? In the uk They’ve been consistently falling the last week compared with numbers on the same day the previous week.

Good luck. We were in Portugal from early October until a couple of weeks ago. Travelled down the West Coast initially and found a couple of places we really liked Figueira de Foz, best all you can eat sushi for 10e ever, some fun mountain bike trails in the hills above the town and some good surf too, Foz do Arelho was another favourite spot and then we settled in Sagres for 4 months, surf heaven but not much else. We’re in Spain now just making our way back to uk but hope to be back in Portugal next winter.

Gorgeous. my friends just adopted a very similar looking dog from Portugal. He’s super nervous too and sits down against their legs. They got excited the other day as he wagged his for the 1st time.

Back on furlough? Back in lockdown? Back in an upward, uncontrollable mass infection rate spiral. Back of the queue at the testing centre?

Let in a little light now and again eh. You’ll feel much happier. 😘

Martin the point with the beach thing is that cases didn’t rise after these events nothing to do with track and trace really.

Maybe because it’s been depressingly clear from the start that the poor have been and will continue to be much harder hit by this pandemic. It’s partly why I fail to get outraged when I hear about people breaking lockdown rules as we just don’t know their background situation and whilst it’s not too much hardship for the cosy, middle classes with family homes/gardens to stay home there are millions out there dealing with much worse home lives.

If you’re on Facebook join Sussex mtb classifieds for 2nd hand bike stuff and Brighton mtb for hooking up with riders. In normal times there’s a group ride every Thursday evening in Stanmer park. Mellow singletrack mainly.

With the vaccinations we’ve done already when would we hope to see an extra affect on deaths over and above the affect of lockdown?

    myti

I’m not suprised. In a normal day lots of people would get exercise just going about their normal lives, walking about office, out for lunch, popping to the shops, going to meet friends down the pub. People’s steps must be down massively being home based most of the time and getting enthusiastic about doing some physical exercise on your own from your door in winter must be really difficult for most.

It’s scary the amount of long term, side affects there will be from lockdowns.

Big John no it was the website. It’s updated now and won nothing. Not sure why I’m surprised I never win anything but thought as the money was earning nothing anyway I might as well try this.

I agree. Poppy seeds on the outside of bread are a pointless annoying mess. Inside better. I also had an angry squeezy nipple incident yesterday. 1st squeeze of the ketchup aiming at the burger bun and it just spattered all over floor and work top, hardly any on the bun 😖

Also No-one has picked up on ‘should have moved to a 2 acre property by the time pups are ready’ so no guarantee they will even have the lovely big garden if move falls through.

Jonm problem with means testing is the process can cost more than the savings especially for smaller things like tv licenses. Best thing to do if you want to redistribute your unneeded wealth is to do it yourself.

You get to choose who benefits then and will get the positive feelings from having helped people directly rather than having to trust the government to do it.
