Never mind kids – our dog tells lies.  She is rubbish at it though and has so many ‘tells’ we can see through it.  For example, if I have fed her and gone out before my wife gets in, she will make out that she has still to be fed.  I have known other dogs to feign injury to get attention.  This leads me to believe that misleading another person/animal to get what you want (or avoiding getting what you don’t want) must be innate behaviour/hard wired into us and other animals

Passed a Costa yesterday that had someone in a Santa Suit complete with beard going round inside.  Local garden centre has full-on Christmas section going including massive animated Christmas tableau – around 4m x 2m.

    I read

active may be the same, delivery mechanism (excipient formulations, etc.) may be very different.
but some may work faster and be more effective than others

To be sold, generics (ie copy of the original) have to prove that the pharmacokinetics (how quickly absorbed, concentrations achieved and rate of excretion) of their product are the same as the original registered product.  if not, then they are not equivalent and the company responsible would have to do their own clinical trials to get them on the market which would not be cost effective.  So like for like, there should not be a difference in the rate at which they work for the same type of product.

You can of course get different types of formulation (fast absorption, extended release etc) but in every case the above rule applies to the cheaper alternatives to the original. The only way you should get differences is if you are comparing a different kind of product (ie bog standard vs fast acting)

Edit:  What TiRed said – I too work in drug development :)

The release of a long held in pee, eg, when you’ve been wondering how the hell you were going to get home without an incident after too long in the pub and getting stuck on the bus.  Bliss…

Maybe his advisers could get him to explain that what he meant to say was the guy was NOT a pedo?  Then that would explain everything and we could carry on as normal

    From:  https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/724982/The_future_relationship_between_the_United_Kingdom_and_the_European_Union_WEB_VERSION.pdf

In some manufactured goods sectors where more complex products have the potential to pose a higher risk to consumers, patients or environmental safety, a greater level of regulatory control is applied. The European Medicines Agency (EMA), the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) and the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) facilitate part of these regulatory frameworks. In line with the UK’s objective of ensuring that products only go through one approval mechanism to
access both markets, the UK is seeking participation in these EU agencies, as an active participant, albeit without voting rights, which would involve making an appropriate financial contribution. The UK would want to secure access to relevant IT systems, ensuring the timely transfer of data between UK and EU authorities

So to be part of these systems (that we currently are) since this is deemed to be a good idea, the country will have to pay, but will have no influence or voting rights.  Yeh! – go us…..

Don’t do the package tour boat trips – there are local ones leave from the same place for much less cost.

Best genuine fake stuff you can find, but they expect you to haggle.  It was so hot when we bought some stuff that I couldn’t be bothered and was happy to pay the marked price for some t-shorts (which was still a good deal).  The guy felt short-changed by the absence of an argument

I also thought as the rotor was worn, the outer edge of the pads might start to make contact with the inner edge of the non-worn surface because there would always be an overlap, that could explain the noisiness and maybe more wear there would lead to more pressure on the areas in regular contact with the braking surface?

Avoided the whole fawning orgasmic slobberfest from the media all day until the Mrs cracked tonight and had to watch it on the news. Then she fell out with me because I didn’t respond appropriately to the exhortations to look at this, look at that…

Lost count of how many of these I’ve avoided, going  back to Anne and MP, and still nobody gets that I’m just not interested.

Swimming with our dog is a nightmare!  She seems to believe that we can’t swim and need rescued, which since she won’t use her mouth (taught not to bite) leads to extensive ‘clawing’.

I’d also question if a dog could swim far enough or fast enough to make it anything other than some play?  While ours is a great swimmer, I can easily outpace her (I’m no star in the water) and I doubt she could swim the sort of distances I would want to, to make it worthwhile

Two of the kids got chicken pox while I was out of the country, the same day that washing machine flooded the kitchen and the kitchen roof started leaking during a thunderstorm.  To be fair, I think I might have wanted to share the ‘blame’ for some of that around in the same situation.

Also, looking at it, could it have been parked at a coffee stop over a rail (or a square timber such that the force on the edge was concentrated in that area)?  Or transported with the front wheel over a bar like they do on some uplifts?

I snapped a steel frame in exactly that location in a head on collision with a car. It also folded the top tube.  The forks (also steel) were unaffected and the front wheel still ran perfectly true and was undamaged.  My point is therefore that no sign of damage to wheel doesn’t meant that an impact (such as a hard hit on a pothole) couldn’t have been transferred to the frame.

Nobody got an opinion on the suitability or otherwise of Schwalbe G-One Speed (2.35 x 29″)?  I can’t go any smaller because of my rims :(

Of course, always do, its only decent.

That didn’t stop the little shits next door using the pile as an excuse to kick it down again all over the pavement I’d just cleared, even though there’s a whole street full of it to play in

I’ve signed up.  Tyrewise I’m thinking about Schwalbe  G-One Speed 2.35 x 29″ (smallest tyre I can use on my 29+ rims).  Note that Schwalbe do not recommend this for rough forest road or trails – any views or alternatives in 2.35″x29″ flavour?
