my better half has just fallen out with me and went to bed in a huff because I said I thought Dua Lipa was miming. Apparently I ‘kept overanalysing everything and ruined it’. I was actually enjoying it ok, just thought it wasn’t a live performance (in traditional sense)

Loads of them around our area on outskirts of Edinburgh. Mega commotion one morning last year with 30-40 jackdaws and magpies circling on the sky screaming like crazy. Found a sparrowhawk in a corner of the garden with a magpie it had caught. The battle to kill it went on a good 15 minutes, with other magpies and jackdaws harrying it in turns. Got it on video.  Punctuated by Mrs M saying repeatedly ‘This is awful, I can’t watch!’

I can’t remember a time when they had a more clueless bunch across the board. I’ve become increasingly disenchanted with it in the last few years and likely would have given up by now if Mrs M wasn’t as interested.
There’s 2 left I wouldn’t rate as complete idiots, but I bet something horrible comes out if their interviews – either crazy unworkable business plans, or a big skeleton in their CV closet.
On the business plan, why on earth isn’t this a criteria to make it on to the show?  In previous years, some people have been immediately rejected once their ‘business plan’ was established to be virtually non-existent or so speculative as to be worthless, meaning being on the show till that stage was a complete waste of time

Live TV is fine, and problem is not with the HDMI port, or the cable, because swapping ports and/or cables doesn’t resolve it – problem stays with Zwift. Obvious conclusion is some kind of phone issue, but it’s a new phone and there are no issues with any other aspect of performance – only Zwift

Hmmm, it is a Sony TV, but everything else about it works fine.

Setup is Zwift on phone, plenty memory, connected by cable to TV HDMI port.
Screen resolution starts off fine, but as ride goes on, it becomes progressively poorer till after a while (30mins +) you can’t read data because digits are so blurry. It’s not due to ‘pain effect’ being enabled.

Any ideas?

5Lab – if I could, I would, because as cinnamon_girl says, these things should last longer than 5-6 years! But no-one can tell me what the problem is beyond the screen needs replaced, and that this will be likely the same cost, if not more, than just replacing it.

Spacemonkey and Dazh, no I did not get it from Richer Sounds, or take out an extended warranty at the time from the shop we did use (Curry’s, I think)  because if I thought it needed it, I wouldn’t have bought it in the first place… that doesn’t sound quite as logical written down as it does in my head

I was just going by that link which said it was the adapter needed for disk brake road bike, and listed it as a ‘135 mm thru axle adapter set’ for this purpose. i think on another trainer I had (wahoo) there was one adapter covering both, you just flipped it rond for one or other. His Defy would be 2018 or 2019, I think

Thermostatic valves do need replaced from time to time. I tried cleaning one without success. Replaced it instead and the flow which had been dropping off slowly over the years before it fell off a cliff, went back to the previous performance.

I’d checked part number for the shower on-line and got a lot of prices. Weirdly though the next price was from the supplier who I had phoned to check something. They were 50% less than anyone else, so I bought 2 to have a spare for next time

As I understand it, as it ages, it lets less hot water through, so to keep temp constant, it lets through less cold water too. If it is the valve and you try only running cold water, the pressure should be fine

I get like this after the first day of swimming in the sea on holiday, and it kind of lasts the whole time we are away. I actually find it quite pleasant, lying on the beach on a lounger but feeling you are in a hammock or still bobbing about in the waves. Helps me sleep.
Also had same thing after long-haul flights when I have been tired. Found that less relaxing. I’d never made any connection between the 2 until reading it above
