    You’ll be fine.

Arm and leg pads and a regular helmet is what I’ve always used.

    Big brakes – deffo.

Tyres depends on whether you ride the terrain or batter through it 😳

The big climbs are planned with the lunch stop after so I wouldn’t worry, P&L know what they’re doing.

I’m always last up the climbs and it never bothers me 😀

try upping your excess – my insurance increased £90 a yr.
my old excess was only £50, now £200 kept the cost right down.

Proper summer bike by the time you paid for all the bits you’d be better off looking for a last years model from one of the big manufacturers……..

Does anyone know how insurance companies view components/

I have 7 ‘built’ bikes many more in storage in bits so technically not a bike just a collection of parts.

Just got my renewal so time to start looking 😥

I had mine done 2 yrs ago. some discomfort but the pain relief
    General anaesthetic.
worked, 6 weeks off work as I work at height and regularly wear a harness.
4 inch cut in groin which is now invisible.
Maybe 16 20 nicks in the legs.
The surgeon was very impressed by the size of some of the vein about the same dia as my thumb and I have big hands. This left a large void in the muscle which has healed well.
All good I’d say. They have you walking around within a few hours.
Do your exercise as prescribed. I was biking before i went back to work – it was July though 😉

Cold air is more dense the warm air…add that to the extra demand from heater, fans, and lights etc

The car is working harder also more fuel is used from a cold start in winter as it takes longer to reach temp>
