I'm really liking my sony. after a lot of humming and hawing over what to get decided 4Gb 500Gb HD and i3 processor for about £600 from PC world was pretty decent value and watching the same HD demo vid on it an acer and a packard bell convinced me teh sony had a much better screen.

Sorry 'bout the lack of caps, lazy typing!

Anyone know if they are showing follow me or the collective first at the filmhouse, have plans but might have time for follow me if it's on first…

The Hub in The Forest at Glentress still use it exclusively on their hire bikes – I'd say that's quite high praise as they're getting jet washed and scrubbed after every use.

I liked my freebie and bought a big bottle when I was at the Hub at the weekend. I'll be chucking the Finish Line in the bin and using this on all my bikes from now on.

Freecaster is free again – it wasn't really their fault they were charging, they couldn't afford not to – and Warner is back from the FMX to commentate 8)
I'm going to decide on Saturday morning if I'm going up and will wild camp or sleep in the motor after consuming vast quantities of crap larger at the Nevis Range followed by good beer at the Grog and Gruel 😛
Oh, and I've decided that this year I'll just ignore the midges – maybe!

    Singular Swift

Going to really ruin it with some tri bars for extra hand positions and getting out of the wind – don't tell Sam! 🙂

Planning to spend a month on it in Spain later in the year but haven't decided thought about a route yet, so don't know if it'll be on road or mtb tyres. But hopefully going to get a pair of freeload[/url] racks as I wouldn't want to have to trust the beam rack and don't like the weight being taken by the seatpost either.

The gryphon is designed for off road drop bars and the swift for more traditional mtb bars. You can run drops on the swift with a short steep stem.

The effective top tube of the gryphon is almost 30cm shorter, so wouldn't be ideal running it with flat/riser bars, unless you've short arms?

    That's how I understand it anyway – I got a swift 🙂

[edit] and love it! – haven't even been off road on it yet, but did an ace weeks tour in April with road tyres on.

coastkid – I've a very similar photo of ice cream in North Berwick a couple of months ago, but I get there via road not the beach 🙂

I've developed the lurgy after my not-so-healthy weekend so, as Duncan Banatyne would say, I'm out 🙁 – on the bright side you won't have my skillz holding things up!

I'm up for it, but it will be another best endeavor. Work starts to get a bit hectic at this time of year.

That's if I can get my bike to stop falling apart, and maybe sort those skillzzz! 😆

concretecoronett peak in Queenstown NZ does it every Wed(?) night with flood lights on the snow guns – it was ace and really does improve your riding as you just have to react to the ground under you in a way you don't in daylight.

I would say CCA too, the stuff he did for The Hub looks really good.

There's a sticker printing place on the Westport (a couple of doors either up or down from the Kingfisher, i can't remember which) who might be worth asking too, if you happen to be in the pubic triangle at the weekend!

If I had the cash it'd be the Royce for me, along with a BB for my Middleburn cranks.

Middleburn have some new hubs coming this year according to their site and Royce have some titanium flange hubs coming too…

run two sprockets and two cogs, same total teeth but different ratios 32:18 off road and 34:16 on? don't need to lug about a chain or mess about changing sprockets.

Try Hardies in Cairneyhill, Craig builds a good wheel and uses Sapin spokes.

yep wrong forum metcalf…your not welcome with your road bike ways!

That was a bit out of the blue and uncalled for?

I think there may have been a bit of sarcasm there – click on both their usernames, my guess is metcalf is an employee. 😀

Are the bar end ends of the grip ODI compatible? I need some to go with my cane creek bar ends which can replace the outer clamp of ODI lock ons.

    Cheers!

His ridiculously cringeworthy naivety cracks me up, how did he manage to get to that age without knowing some of the things he obviously knows nothing about? It is a bit of a worrying reflection on the welsh education system!

I've got one on my Hemlock until I get around to buying a post in teh corect size. THe first few uses it stayed put, but then the bike sat unused and unwashed for a couple of weeks after riding in seriously shitty weather and on Sat teh shim lifted with the post, slid back into place easily enough though.

I did consider putting a drop of locking compound between it and the frame but wussed out and slapped loads of grease in instead! 🙄

Think i'll see if I can flare the top a wee bit more so it sits under the collar and gets held in place that way.

You may as well give it a punt if you have teh post alrady as it's only a couple of quid. Think I got a brand x one from crc.

That reminds me, must take clothes to work tomorrow so I can stop making excusses and start commuting on teh fixie again.

14ish each way. Was doing it 3/4 time a week in April/May but with mtbing too my legs were getting burnt out as the muscles weren't getting any recovery time.

Going to re-build and singlespeed the old hardtail so I can mix it up a bit and swap bikes now and again to keep it interesting.

My old barbour (sp?) from Larne has moved out to work at Club La Santa – Paul 'Aggy' Agnew. Sound bloke, but I don't know much more than that other than swimming friends used to go out there for training camps.

That's not very useful is it?!

DeeJay – so it was you?!

I'll see what I can do, maybe at the w/end tho, so at least my garden won't get ridiculed too 😳

Actually, I can mail you a crappy camera phone pic of the frame on my very tidy desk if you like, can't upload it from here though. New stays are suitably industrial looking, although most people are suprised that it doesn't weigh anywhere near as much as it looks like it should!
