Marina, Aqua Marina, what are these strange enchantments that start, whenever you’re near?

Going to resist the need to rip the piss out of Agressive XC and recommend High Rollers too.

I came from the Meta 5.5 to 666. Can’t see the hoo-ha about the angles personally. Can ride it all day, happily climb anything tackled on the smaller bike and much better on descents. A great bike and som bargains to be had. Mine is medium{I’m 6ft1in} but I do like my bikes to be on the small side. Fox 36 float rc2 up front and RP23 at back.

Ton – I’ve got a spare manual on disk you can have, if you can’t be arsed to look on Fox’s website?

Did mine through work. Just rigid though, did a four day intensive course with test on Friday. Loads of training agencies about.

No, it’s not like whole areas close down. Just one or two lifts dotted around that are only used for the weekend of the passportes. In the main the whole Portes du Soleil is open from then…

And you can definately get back from Morgins via lifts after PassPortes, definately.

Chakaping : Re the toast and getting every part perfect – I’d fail on that, My missus is always complaining that I don’t spread the butter evenly. I like big blobs of it here and there?

I tagged him as Ming when he was on too. Think he’s a standout, though missed it all this week cos of night shift but will sit down to enjoy it tonight.

And as if it isn’t tough enough for the cooks, they have to stand and watch as their lovingly prepared grub is shovelled{and I mean Shovelled!} into the Aussie guys gaping maw! It’s like watching a grouper feed! My wife tries to defend him by saying he needs to get all the flavours but he could several smaller forkfuls. Bloody animal…

Nah, nah the quote of choice from the contestants POV is usually “I’m passionate about food!” or “Cooking is my life, it’s all I think about”.

They all say the same sh1t. Oh and when they get booted off for burning the toast or somesh1t they usually blurt out “This isn’t the end for me, this is just the beginning” or “I’m not going to stop cooking”

    ****.

Oh but there are some lifts that are only used for this event and then closed for the season.

Passportes is the official opening for the season. Usually from start July{think it’s 4th} until last weekend in August?

Terrahawk – the other centres nearer Dumfries are worth a visit if you’re in the area for few days, Dalbeattie especially. Probably about 45 mins from Newton Stewart/Kirroughtree?

I love all these macho posturings that emerge once someone says a particular climb is difficult. That Heartbreak Hill climb is a right ****, gears or not.

I’m not even going to respond to this classic STW “it-takes-a-hell-of-a-lot-to-impress-me” remark.

And as for the condescending “fair play” you can ram that too!

I’m off to work. Nowt overly exciting I hope.

I’m not a northerner in the technical sense.

And that must the first time anyone has suggested Rudeboy has used “reasoned arguments” on here!

    MussEd

Easy Fred, no-one is starting that argument here. Oh – you are!

Though I’d argue that it dos not affct me if London gets ashit load of snow. It might amuse me to watch folk slipping about and generally being more miserable as they travel to/from work in our mighty metropolis but it dosn’t affect me. So that’s not the whole nation. Make sense?

ps my “e” key is sticking and I cannot be bothered looking for all missed “e”s.

aP – yes it dos explain where you’re coming from with regards to rail system, but not the roads. What would you have in it’s place? And how would it cope better with snow?

    MussEd

Edwardian? What would be your alternatives then aP? Hovercars? Skyways? Underground Supermotorways?

Succssive posters have just said that Norway and Chicago can’t cope until people get back into the swing of things so surly Britain has no right to expect to either?

I mean proper, “army called in to distribute food to pensioners – people found dead after abandoning their car and trying to walk” snow.

Life went on pretty much as normal though and it barely made the news outside Scotland.

Yeah, cos that’s just like normal life. Army distribute food all the time round here, people abandon their cars very day then die too.

Ad probably the only reason it “barely made the news” was that folk in London{where the UK news is controlled} couldn’t give a **** about us up here. Thought that much would be clear by now.

    Agree with OP’s point btw.

I’m just arguing ‘cos I find it funny you seem to claim som brilliant militirastic history and mock the French’s efforts. Not cos I’m PC gone mad or anything.

Anyway what about Hastings 1066? Oh yes…

Lost. In a war whose ending foreshadows the next 2000 years of French history, France is conquered by of all things, an Italian.

A battle whose ending forshadows the next 1000 years of English/British history. England/Britain is conquered by of all things, a Frenchman.

    Not forgetting the Roman invasion of Britain 1000 years prior, an invasion whose ending foreshadows the next 1000 years….{you get the picture}

If you’re in Morzine and near the main streets or just in cramped shared accomodation, wearing one as a noise muffler in bed is a good investment. I’m sure mine afforded me an extra couple of hours of sleep over the week, and that my friends is priceless!

Don’t bother with the goggles though!
