I have both (tripster & pickenflick) amd much prefer the Pick…

You’ll get hung for heresy man!

Anyway I really like that bike Daffy. I don’t like your garden though. Carry on.

Oops – bit remiss of me here. Now think the frame can be salvaged. Problem is a seized and now rounded Allen bolt* (securing the broken mudguard I was trying to replace when the bolt gave in!) Anyway a pal reckons we can drill it out then he can retthread the mudguard eye…

So new frame requirement is on the back burner for the time being. But in the interim I seemed to convict myself the budget could drift out to £300ish and was toying with a Genesis Equilibrium 725 or Surly Pacer….

*tried banging in an old torq head and also hacksawing a groove for a big screwdriver but the bolt is distinctly fromage-like in its toughness…

Dunno what size you’re after but Alpine Bikes sale just started – they had a basic CDF for £600 ish and ‘Dale CAADX 105 for £700 this morning…

So this is another Tripster thread now? Brilliant.

Bike sold itself, it knew it had picked the wrong rider and was getting bored!

Quick picture of it when we were still talking (and a preview of what it looks like with brown tape, just for MussEd)

Well so far, it’s making me take longer rides to and from work so that must be a sign!

I seem to have acquired one of these by accident on Thursday. Bit of crossover between this and other 2 bikes I have but 13thFloorMonk was a slick salesman and it couldn’t resist. First ride tomorrow.

Pizza on a bbq? That’s just wrong.

Been shopping at Aldi since waaaaay before it was acceptable. Agree about the ketchup, they’ve got work to do on that one.

Venison meatballs and steaks are absolutely delicious and very cheap! With regards to cheese, their Vintage Scottish cheddar cannot be beaten!

Oh and Toro Loco Tempranillo wine is a favourite. As is the ridiculously cheap Taurus cider. I could go on…

I’ve got a Krampus, which I’ve been using the same way as you describe…love it. I’d love that Enduro you’re selling but decided to give no frills no suspension thing a go, and the Krampus as my only MTB is giving me smiles for miles. Highly recommended.

Oh, there’s a locked room type challenge venue somewhere a mate went to. You need to solve puzzles within an hour to get out(obvs they let you out anyway) could be good for team morale I suppose? Can’t remember it’s name though

I’d just go for the meal and drink, nothing worse than forced fun or camaraderie(IMO)

I’m afraid Transgression is an empty shell now, with broken up timber ramps lying outside which the local darlings set alight with painful regularity. Tonight for example when I am on night shift no doubt…

What about that trampoline place, only app 60% of attendees will need a trip to A&E so more budget for the rest?

CTK – that’s along the right lines but out of stock. Thanks!

Dunno what Toast is apart from the worlds tastiest snack or the UKs 2nd best high wind actor…will check Old Town old though.

“The iOS one is unrelated but if the tech bods are listening: latest iOS (8.3), if you hit the IMG or URL buttons it crashes Safari pretty much every time. Seems to be a newish problem as it worked with older iOS versions. Oddly the quote button works so I’d guess it is related to the pop-up”

Same for me iOS 8.3 iPhone 5

What about The Capital Trail route?- 250kmish route from Edinburgh, down through East Lothian, over the Lammermuirs to Lauder, Melrose, Tweed Valley then over to Pentlands via the Meldons and back to Edinburgh…A LOT of climbing but a real challenge.. Theres an organised event in June but you see the route HERE and ride it whenever suits you…

It is much, much, much shorter. And you need to ride uphill to get there…other than that there are certain similarities…

P.S Did I mention the Black at Laggan is shorter?

I’ve visited their premises – they don’t actually keep much of anything in stock…they process orders as and when they receive them…don’t think they hide this so if you were after next day delivery I’d say you were onto a loser from the off…

Nothing special here, but it’s been good. Looking after the kids, swimming, trying to stop them killing one another, work has been a good laugh, obsessing about bikepacking gear, now ready just myself for a Stag weekend in Munich. Apart from commuting not been out on bike in the lovely weather but it’s been a grat week so far…

First stump done – feel my power!

Is the Beta version available to plebs like me? I’m no guru Meta Beta Getamap guy like you mate!

With regards to Basecamp – i really meant if the OS maps from Getamap could be stored permanently on my Mac(or am I misunderstanding this?) as my Edge has to upload the maps every time I plug into the computer which then takes ages to appear in basecamp…was hoping to use it for route creation etc (and to print off paper back ups to GPS which I’ll have with me)

If you google/eBay search “bakfiets” you’ll get cheaper Dutch ideas. Fair bit heavier though. And not as cool.
