Internet radio isn't the same to me somehow, suppose I want some chat, but it all depends on whom is chatting…

However the problem is that no traffic wardens are allowed out in this weather as they might slip, looks like they will have to get some training to walk in the snow and ice

Like you could have to allow you to travel to the Gym then you wouldn't have lost your space?

Only joking mate – I have a bowling club in my street and during the summer you simply cannot get parked for old duffers in grey slacks. During the winter I genuinely have to plan my vehicular movements on Monday evening{dominoes night}, Tuesdays{Ladies night – no idea what that involves!} and Thursdays{darts} because of the amount of incoming cars. Not to mention streams of cabs/minbuses taking folk to private functions.

Forgot about Nemone – she's annoying too.

Want to listen to decent music, so cannot turn over to R1 as that goes without saying R2 too old and Daily Mail, middle England-centric, and commercial radio can kiss my hoop before I sit through two minutes of adverts for local flooring specialists and the like after every song.

I meant the North Face centre – mate forgot the OS map on a very wet and foggy day so we stuck to the NF marked trail and it was ok, but way too short to justify a trip there on their own.

The cafe was nice though, staffed by some toasty hot young things serving toasty hot Cumberland sausage and mash which there and then became my favourite post ride scran.

Whinlatter is good too, defo worth a visit. Grizedale not so, especially if constrained to the marked trails on a severely overcast day with no map!

Now we're competing over who lives in the coldest bit of Britain? Right I'm setting the alarm for 3am and gonna take the thermometer down the beach!

Postie just been and still no stylus! WHY???????????????

Let's think about this shall we? I'm not 100% sure but I'm vaguely aware of the country being hit by what I'm sure the radio referred to as a severe weather event during the last few days. Now considering we seem to have the infrastructure of a bankrupt, corruption ridden, third world failed state things have been, to say the least, a little fraught.

Many people seem to have been forced not to attend their place of work, for fear of some apocaplyptic meltdown mainly involving lorries jacknifing, cars stuck on slip roads and lots of folk sleeping in hastily prepared community centres or church halls.

So whilst all this post climate change armageddon rages and Britain falls to it's knees, your parcel hasn't arrived? IT'S A **** DISGRACE!!!

Btw I ordered 4x Nokia 5800 stylus pens for £1.45 over a week ago from Ebay and still no sign. I feel your pain. Good Luck.

Can I venture that those who are at pains to point out, though whilst happy to go really fast, and do really, really big drops, can't get the point of this style of riding are, in fact MASSIVE shitebags? But wont admit it? I like Shore but wouldn't have the nuts for that stuff.

The point of riding over stuff like this is illustrated perfectly by the guy in the OP vid after he did that STUPID stall/handclap thing. He was away with it on adrenaline! Is that not the feeling we chase when you blast down through your favourite bit of singletrack, or clean a fecker of a climb. It is for me.

I know that some people use their bikes to get into nature and appreciate the vistas etc without feeling the need for speed{copyright Tom Cruise}{and I'm up for that too} but like the term or not MTB is an "Adrenaline Sport" and as such people find different ways to achieve this.

If you were to ask the chaps in this video to accompany you and 30 other 30/40 year old inept bikers round a bridleway in Northern England do you think they'd see the point? Maybe, maybe not.

Jesus On a Bendy Bus – Nah not at all, it was just I read a profile about the guy before Christmas. It went heavy, heavy on the family side/tee-total/never had a drink in his life kind of thing so I was putting 2 and 2 together, having visions of him sneaking down his local!

Think he's an excellent manager and coach and wish him all the success at a club for whom i don't really care!

Why do you keep saying "in theory"? And why does everyone nowadays always expect things to happen straightaway? There is a reason for the old adage "Patience is a virtue" You'll get your forks and then you'll forget they ever went "missing".

Sorry chaps been away making tea etc.

It is indeed for a Commencal – Meta 6 as it happens. New frame came with Maxle drop outs fitted – my old Chrome 12mm bolt thru fits but it weighs a ton and i thought I'd take this opportunity to update my back wheel.

Thought there was something on here the other day about UKbikestore going bust? I'll take a look…Cheers

Took this at about 10am this morning. We didn't try and ride thru that. Went to Glentress instead. At about 2.30pm my mate got a message to say that the uplift is going ahead tomorrow, so the water must have dropped. Suppose that'll depend on the rain forecast for tonight.

On the same topic, I caught a 10 minute snip of The Revenge of the Sith yeaterday and was a bit taken aback by R2D2's range of skillz. In the old films {set after those three new shit ones} he could barely roll about on flat surfaces. Yet in the clip I saw he was flying, shooting droids, catching stuff and generally being quite cool. Not just rolling about bleeping in a comedic and quite cute fashion.

Is cos he's old and a bit knackered in the good films?
