DPD faultless here too but sadly you can’t select which courier beings your stuff. Yodel is ok here too, the chap seems to come of an evening thereby maximises his chances of getting people in who are out all day..

I got one stating an hour slot between 11.30am and 12.30pm. Went out for the morning. Returned home at 11am. Wee red card stating they’d been at 11.15am and would attempt redelivery. U.S!

Even sadder now. See loads of destroyed stuff in line of work but wilfully taking from charities then burning them is **** up. They could’ve just dumped them if they were avoiding the polis and at least the charity could’ve recovered their property…arseholes

Correct KCR and Schwalbe Big Apple tyres seem to catch quite well too…

Dicks isn’t my sign off – more a comment on the type of person who’d steal something just to then destroy it.

Quite a few online retailers seemed to have gone to payment after delivery as default with Paypal – no idea why – but I seem to have to actively select payment up front now? So the money wont be taken from your PP until you’ve got the stuff…

Saying that, this wasnt the case when I got something from Alltricks!

Edit – just noticed the ages of yours. Maybe a single and seat does make sense – not sure if you’d need to use a car seat in the trailer for the wee one anyway – easier to put baby on the bike I’d say and the bigger one in the trailer…

It will of course be wider and heavier but if they’re like my two they’ll both want in the trailer (20 months apart)and the insuring hassle that involved meant a double was the only choice!

Cologne is an obvious start but rammed to the gunnels. We kind of stumbled upon Koblenz , a smaller less known city further south. Beatiuful situation. On the concfluence of the Mosel and Rhine rivers, with a massive fort overlooking the compact city centre reached by a cable car over the river. We got up there only to find out there was a Playmobil 40th anniversary exhibition going on…absolutely fascinating for kids and us, even made a pal…

    Anyway Koblenz was delightful…

We all know cheap Cree LEDs will do a job – myriad threads on here about them, but surprised no one mentioned the need to make your presence known to other road users….
    Get yourself illuminated!!!
A 1600Lumen cree light is NOT the right choice for ‘getting yourself seen’ on roads, it just blinds other road users. As has been said a 100Lumen head torch will suffice perfectly fine for seeing and for being seen.

    That’s what I meant?

Talking about the traffic levels seen on urban commuter routes but even quiet unlit country roads see other vehicles – most won’t be expecting bikes at night. Get yourself illuminated!!!

I’ve got the Krampus Ops frameset, in large, got an Apidura framebag in there, no need for extra brake ons, and a good deal less expensive than Revelate stuff.

Great capability loaded for bike packing, silly fun for mucking around on unladen. Love it.

For any bag, it’s worth taping he frame/fork at contact points if you are worried about paint. Or just buy a Ti frame.

Is taping the frame more economical than buying a Ti frame? Asking for a friend…

I’ve been catching myself watching this too of late. Alongside the casual sexism you can’t help but marvel at the sheer sleaziness of Jim’s wandering hands where the female contestants are involved. He just can’t keep his hands to himself.

    Something to consider:
With ‘normal’ drops you can often ride through those annoying cycle-path chav-gates. Flared drops may well mean a dis-mount.
(I’m flare curious, but there are too many of the aforementioned width restrictions on my commute.)

I’ve got salsa cowbell 3s(I think) on my Vaya, they fit through those gate things you mean. Never understood the appeal of this type of bar until I tried them. Absolutely love them now.

I’ve got a Maxxraxx 4 bike rack. It folds down with bikes on to allow access
to the back door on our car…solid, bombproof and a Wee bit more affordable than the likes of Thule etc…

I work at the Fire Station at the roundabout at the foot of Smokey Brae(officially restalrig road south)

So Meadowbank House then? Loads of folk who work there seem to park on Marionville avenue/drive and it’s a 2 min walk up Smokey Brae to their work. As long as you avoid driveways there’s no parking restrictions…
