Eyes are killing me. Randomly burst into tears which alarms the kids, and sneezing fits which alarm everyone within 2km radius.

Terry Nutkins shut the door in my face at Tebay services. I was fast approaching a Code Brown the absolute bounder.

There’s one at the shell garage at Musselburgh, so maybe other She’ll places maybe worth a try if that’s too far? Shell at Seafield maybe?

I saw CRC selling the Magnum pro in 29+ off in their sale for £390 around about New Year, ummed and awed and now they’re gone….

Can anyone advise which Yari takes 29+ and would I need a boost hub? (think Pro2 can be converted nowadays maybe??)

I think getting them to bring in the book is a good plan.
If they want to dress up as a character from a book then let’s see the actual book.

And for the kid who lives in a home with no books?

Well a wee lad in my boys nursery today turned and said to me “we’ve no got any books in oor hoose” To which I replied “Have you not?” And he said “haaaaaaa got you, only kidding you”. He’s 4. He saw the middle class angst all over my face and stitched me right up…I like him.

Just another frigging stupid way for shops to make more money….

I am as cynical as they come but I think you’re mistaken here…

It’s about trying to encourage reading books and engaging children’s imaginations. Besides by a quick look around, I seriously doubt anyone at my kid’s nursery/primary has gone out and spent any money on this? Loads of already worn Disney/Marvel costumes being wheeled out again. The best
I spotted was a Cat in the Hat(although I don’t like the books) – it transpires the mum used to be a theatrical make up artist.

Second Talk Photography but the endless amount of sub-forums is the absolute antithesis of STW. Sometimes difficult to keep track of threads as I forget where I read them in the first place(although it’s easy enough to ‘watch’ threads obvs)

That one in Oz looks a bit like a cutaway Millenium Falcon has crashed and been abandoned, which someone has reclaimed and ‘repurposed’ it for family off-grid living. Can see Kev McCloud busting a nut over that…

Usually whatever X is doesn’t need ‘the-imagined’ the attendant pictures of bearded tattooed hipsters or the ludicrous price tag attached…

Not sure Tyndrum can be classed as handy from Edinburgh?

Anyway if a wee bit of travel is doable a couple of colleagues of mine have set up their own events company as an alternative to the big £££ companies – http://www.breakingstrain.co.uk/events/run-the-blades/

If there’s £££ to be spent You can rent my shed for a few nights if you like i, I’ll even provide a sleeping mat – East Lothian is the council…

Oh but you’d need to tidy it out first so you could lie down flat…deal? Nice one!

Same boat and i asked (politely!) via email about it and they wouldnt match the price either as credit to future purchases or as partial refund.

Its not much money (about £15 on a £200 order) but i have to say im not particularly happy about it if others are getting refunded and will make me think again about purchasing in the future

I don’t want anyone getting upset so perhaps I should add more detail – running after a small child so had to be brief earlier – its a credit voucher to the value of the difference as a goodwill gesture cos the order hadn’t arrived yet..still, it’s better than nothing…

Well, in the time it took to do the dishes they’ve replied to my email and offered the difference back. Great customer service! Thank you folks…

My four year old is now convinced Jesus is ‘KING OF THE WORLD’ because the nativity at his nursery and proceeds to shout it whenever we pass anything vaguely relating to the Nativity.(outside a local church on our High Street for example)

However he also has a proper balanced understanding of the true meaning of Christmas by declaring ‘I want that’ at every advert on Ch5 in between epsiodes of Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom and Peppa Pig.

He’ll grow out of both I expect.

Do you really need one? We never bothered, just used slings. Much lighter and more compact – and much, much more practical on public transport and the like.

I always thought that air of superiority I experienced around folk with babies in slings was either my own imagination or me projecting my shortcomings/guilt (for taking a pram on a bus) onto other folk – turns out it actually is a thing!

NINJA EDIT – i dont really do smileys/emojis but this post was intended as light hearted, before I get into trouble…

I’m after just a rear CX/Tourer disc wheel for a future build – can anyone help me pick one off the Clearance List as I’m toiling to decipher the PDF…

Failing that which wheelset should I be looking at?

By the way, MussEd, the recumbent will be much more challenging to ride on that terrain than the old track bike!

Yeah I got that, hence the sarcasm. I should’ve just stuck a smilie on the end…
