I have one of those rubber mallets and it is fun but it has to be my bog standard 5mm allen key with ball end.

Your best taking the lowers off and giving everything a clean.
Also take the foam washers out of the seals and soak them in fresh oil.
There is 15ml of 15wt fork oil in each side of the lowers for lubricating the bushings which will need replaced aswell.

You can use a socket to push them through and a square taper bb tool on the other side. Works really well if ur using a vice.

You don’t need rawl plugs when screwing into studs, you could drill a pilot hole with a drill size slightly smaller than the shaft of the screws.
