Went round once and I was knackered. Amazing how much has been fitted into a relatively small place. And very nice when you've got the place to yourself and really should be working. I must get down to watch the racing next Wendsday.

Multiple tie wraps to hold the "free" piston in, then pump out using the lever. If you've already taken the caliper off, you can use compressed air to blow it out BUT don't let your fingers get anywhere near the gap when you do it (unless you want to discover the difference between A&E and Minor Injuries Clinics).

If that doesn't work – LBS or motorbike shop – happens all the time on motorbikes ridden through the winter

Go for it. Rings are good – I love wearing my wedding ring although on the wrong hand since bending my ring finger 90 degrees the wrong way :-(

Soak in PlusGas – it's designed exactly for this sort of thing. Make up a funnel with Plastacine to ensure that it gets a good soak and leave the wheel flat over night so that the Plusgas can runn down the skewer.

Her fears are not unusual. My wife felt pretty low in her first pregnancy but now she wouldn't miss the kids for anything. Be clear about your opposition to abortion but be supportive in every otehr way and she may come round. Good luck to you both – I hope it works out for you.

Did mine when I had one. Pretty easy even from the inside. Just keep turning as you push – and always turn the right way so the rods don't unscrew! If they do, a hook made from a coat hanger saved my day 20 years ago.

Nokia N95 8Gb. It's always in my pocket, the quality is acceptable for happy snaps and if I'm riding I'm usually thinking about riding :-)

Even the bogs are starting to dry out. The main problem is areas where the horses have left their hoof marks and they've dried hard.

I've skied between the two – looks like a cracking bike trip.

Report his nuicance calls to the network and the problem ends. Take "revenge" my organising calls and you'll end up in trouble. Your choice, I know what I'd do.

Well done. Have you considered joining your local IAM group? Beard and sandals not compulsory :-)

They're usually pretty good for ride outs and it is a hoot "making progress" with your observer.

If you're flush with cash try Rapid Training – top blokes even if they're (ex) coppers and they're very good riders, very smooth and very fast. You won't believe how they manage to stay with you and make it look easy.

    Well done again.

It's an alcohol (common alcohol is ethanol, meths is an alcohol). You can get it from Maplins or a large chemist.

    Isn't it still under warranty?

I have had success with a track pump rather than a compressor.

My ha'penny – my oldest didn't sleep through until 3 years old and still wakes sometimes. We tried everything and it didn't make a blind bit of difference. She was also a right pain to get to sleep.

Our second is 20 months and stil doesn't sleep through but goes to sleep much more easily. I think if we pushed it we could get number 2 to sleep through but we're now so used to being up in the night (3 times) that we don't bother. We take turns doing nights and go to bed early!

Given the rate the snow's melted overnight in the Chilterns I doubt there's much sluch left n Woburn.

Yes it should be completely dry. The idea is to get the DWR up totemperature. Alternatively air dry it then iron on a low heat with paper between it and the iron.

BTW, soap flakes (available in Sainsburys) do the same job as Grangers cleaner for less.

A flask of hot drink – great morale booster. Plan for bail out routes. Pick easy well drained routes and consider making any climbs by road as the new people may find it hard to find grip.
