I’m not sure where some of those places are but it’s just off the a96 a few miles before Lahnbryde.

I’ll contact the museum of flight and let them deal with it as I’m not sure who owns the land that it sits on.
I didn’t move or touch it so not sure about the leaves or whether it’s been placed there.
It would be amazing if it ended up in the Flight Museum, I love that place!

I’ve had some random Canadian leave a message on my picture asking if he can buy and ship it to Canada 😂

Just outside Elgin, can’t find any details about crashes involving a Halifax though?

It’s in rural Scotland but very close to several major RAF bases in WW2. I’ll go and Google whether they flew Handley Page Halifax.

What do I do with it? I just left it where it was but do I tell the RAF or the landowners or what?

Good sleuthing though, I knew Singletrack could ID it 😁

I’ve fitted 26in RS Forks to my son’s 24in Hotrock.
From memory they are dual air SID’s. To reduce the travel down I just put more air in the top chamber and the fork sliders got drawn down into the stantions therefore reducing the travel and axle/crown length.

I have a 2008 Trafic van, the 9 seat version with Windows all round.

I feel the brakes in mine are a bit spongy and that there is a fair amount of pedal travel too. My mate drove it and also thought the same.

I’ve had the rear calipers off, changed pads and bled the system but it still feels the same.

Could it be that your dad’s van has a different abs unit or Master cylinder etc and that the brakes just have better feel?

Mine stops fine when you stamp the pedal, the pedal just doesn’t feel that great.

I’ve got a ’96 Cinder Cone that I bought brand new. I still use it often and ride all the same trails that I do on my Stumpjumper.
Currently 1×10 using a Deore thumbshifter, 100mm Rockshox Reba, dropper post and original Shimano SPD pedals.
It handles great on swoopy singletrack and it’s only limitation is the bravery of the person riding it 😁

Some of my mates went a few weeks ago and were fairly impressed.
Worth a visit I’d say, their pics looked pretty cool.

There’s loads of choice round here, what days are you about?

I had a MK1 TT 225 and loved it. Not much to add but the rear bench seat in the coupe is a designated Gp3 child car seat so my kids were able to sit in the back without a bulky annoying car seat…

I’ve still got the Thule roof rack and bike rack for mine if anyone needs one…

    113 rides
    165 hours
    153,000 ft Climbing
    1120 miles Distance

All off road as the trails are on my doorstep. Down from last year but I just MTB because I enjoy it rather than to do a certain distance/keep fit etc etc 🙂

Pete, all the design and development of the new Mini was done by Rover, all BMW did was take the credit!

There’s pictures of early test shells with Rover stamped on the glass.

Have you got a pic of the key? I just sold my 03 Cooper S and I’m sure it had one button to lock and another to unlock…

I’ve a few guitars, some fairly expensive (by my standards) and recently bought a 2nd hand PRS Tremonti SE for £200. I bought it for the active EMG’S that are in it and was going to sell the guitar on. I’ve enjoyed it so much that it’s now one of my favourites. Proof that you can’t link price to sound/feel.

    I really fancy a Revstar too…

As above, most are ok to remove but the double blind bearings on the seatstay pivot are a nightmare. Mine were seized solid and I had to Dremel a slot in them and chisel the remains of the.

I’ve got a ’96 Kona Cinder Cone that I bought brand new. Now running 100mm travel Rockshox, 1×10, dropper post etc and it still rides well enough to do a few hundred singletrack miles a year 😄

A few years ago I was re-wiring a shop as part of a refit and a chap came to the door asking if anyone wanted to buy a flat screen TV. A few people piled out to have a look, the guy showed us a shiny new TV, brand new and boxed. One of my workmates decided to buy it, he was really chuffed with his purchase and opened the box to show everyone on site what he’d bought.

A TV box full of very large potatoes! **** knows how the guy switched the box but he was obviously long gone by then so we didn’t get a chance to ask 😂

Thanks all, I was planning taking a 2l camelbak plus a bottle on my bike. Some pasta, energy bars etc.

Never done a ride over 37 miles before so a bit out of my comfort zone. 4 of us are travelling down from just outside Inverness, hopefully we all survive…

Another hi-jack, will the Marathon course have water stations or anything like that? Trying to gauge how much stuff to take round with me and I’m guessing it’s not like Glentress 7’s where you get free cake at the top of the climb :)

About 7 years ago I helped a chap jump start his car in a petrol station in Glasgow, he had a Corrado and a nice one at that.

Fast forward 4 years and I’d arranged to buy a Specialized Epic frameset. Went to the chaps house to pick it up and noticed a Corrado in the driveway, turned out to be the same guy!

Peavey VYPYR sounds great. Available in 100w, 40w and 15w (from memory)

I’ve got the 100w and had some great sounds from it, very versatile too.

I once saw a Renault 5 flip over onto its roof, it went past me about 6ft away doing around 50mph, spinning like a top! There was 5 people in it & it was concluded the driver had hit the bend in a 40 zone at about 70. The car behind me said he’d thought I was toast.

Car driver behind must have thought you’d end up Brown Bread… ;)

The Inverness one is run by volunteers from Highland Skate Park Association. You’ll find them via google.

“I once had a guy who turned up about 2 hours late, claimed he knocked himself out hitting his head on the bathroom cabinet.”

…And that’s how he came up with the idea for the Flux Capacitor ;)

I’m running 1×10 on my winter hardtail and am using a ’90s Deore DX thumbshifter in friction mode.

It works fine and I often use my palm instead of my thumb when my hands are cold.

DX thumbies must be fairly cheap and worth a shot? They were originally 7 speed but have a “hidden click” to allow use with 8sp cassette’s. This lever travel also seems to be sufficient to use with 9 & 10 speed.

I think there is snow on the hill as my mate went snowboarding yesterday but the trails are all clear, just damp/slidy on the muddy bits.

You’ll be fine, there’s no snow at all at the moment. Just Saturated with rain!

I’ve never been that fussed with high speed, I prefer good handling and acceleration. This was compounded by doing just under 135MPH (GPS indicated) in my “mildly tuned” Mk1 MR2, the front end went all light/floaty and the scenery was going past VERY quickly!

Before the do-gooders jump on me, I was doing a trackday at Knockhill. Very rarely do more than the speed limit and always drive to the conditions, pretty pot-holed at the moment up here…

Can’t really complain then, some things are literally impossible to trace without ripping the place apart. Especially if the MCB was marked but appeared to do nothing, he’d have presumed it was for a lighting circuit not in use anymore.

I’d rather deal with a faulty alarm than grab the open end of a live cable while climbing about the loft or feeling down the inside of a cupboard/under the floor etc etc.

I have a 1994 Gibson Flying V, having a quick look on eBay it’s worth the same as I paid for it in 2006.

I didn’t buy it as an investment, even if it lost me money I’d still have bought it as it’s the awesomest shape of guitar ever created :)

Considering buying a 2008 Robot V to go with it…

If you knew that MCB fed the alarm then why didn’t you mark it on the cover/label?

If you told him clearly what it was then yes, be annoyed.

If you didn’t then it could well be an unused live cable sticking out of a wall somewhere so he was right not to take a chance. Better safe than sorry with electricity, electric shock is no fun, trust me ;)

I’m going to see the Mondays in December, can’t wait!

I saw Metallica live in 2009, they were brilliant. I’ve been a fan since I was 12 and have enjoyed pretty much all their albums (apart from St Anger!) The ’80s albums were definitely their best though I loved Death Magnetic.

Really? What if he choked on a bit of Lego while you were out and you came home to his lifeless body?
I wouldn’t leave my 4 year old home alone for any period of time, even if his very sensible 6 y/o brother was there with him.

The last singletrack part of the descent from Abriachan to Drum on the GGW would be tough going on a tandem!

If you don’t mind hills too much you can go from Drum to Ft Augustus and back on the GGW. Or even just to invermoriston and back.

Apparently George Clooney has a house in Eze, according to one of the locals when we were there.

We stayed in Beaulieu sur mer, just round the corner from Nice. Spent 10 days of our honeymoon there in 2008, can’t remember what hotel it was, Carlton or something like that?
Beautiful wee place, look it up on google earth.
