My eldest was in a trailer from 8 months on. As soon as we thought he had sufficient neck strength.
He loved it and I used to take him on singletrack and fire roads without problems.

Could you not donate them to charity? Maybe one that helps victims of burglary or something?

I think I’m getting old as I’m starting to prefer Hagar era music as well.
That said, my favourites are 1984 and 5150. “Summer nights” from 5150 never fails to make my toes tap!

This was my weekend toy, pre children! 300BHP in a Mk1 MR2 thanks to a 2 litre turbo engine from an import mk2 turbo. Surprised a good few cars on track days.

    Got a sensible Dad-wagon now, a 205 GTi with a 170bhp Gti-6 engine transplant.

A great album, I got a copy from my sister when she went all pop!

The handlebar mount rotates through 360 degrees. Would it be worth using the handlebar mount to mount it to the seatpost and rotate the camera round till it’s level and film pointing forwards towards the stem?
Haven’t had a spare moment to try fitting mine but the test footage seems ok quality.

I just moved house and the previous owner was a biker. Looking at strava there are loads of routes that begin/end in my garden. Can I report or get them blocked somehow? I’d rather my own bikes didn’t get knocked!

When does it finish? I live 20 mins from contin so might well pop over in the morning and remind myself why I’ll never enter!

I just did the same. Think they take the box back after you cancel so I doubt you could use it as a pvr.

The engineer will fit a new dish/wiring but they won’t go into loft spaces. Often they fit the dish as close to the lounge wall as they can, I’ve seen some in our street at knee height under the lounge window!
They then drill through the wall into the lounge.

I’m a sparky so I pulled all the wiring in for them and basically did most of their job.
Engineer said it was common for people to get sparks in to do the wiring separately as they didn’t want cables clipped round the outside of their house.

We used a moses basket for 6 weeks, then a normal cot and then moved him to a wee bed just in time for his wee brother arriving and taking over the cot.

To all those with a cot bed, what do you do if you have another baby?

I’ve only ever had one issue with using 2 rcd’s. I was called out to a large waste depot that had tt earthing and a 3phase rcd main switch. A fault on a lighting circuit tripped the rcd but even after I fixed the fault the rcd wouldn’t reset.
Turned out that if I disconnected/removed a downstream rcbo on a separate circuit to the faulty lighting one the rcd would hold.
I then reconnected the rcbo after a couple of minutes and everything was fine

Cathkin Braes is worth a trip and there are plenty of trails in Mugdock literally right beside Bearsden.

Did he do a short course teaching him bs7671? Usually about 5 weeks.
If so, how do they learn the practical side of the job?
Have to say, I don’t understand how they can learn in 5 weeks what took me a 4 year apprenticeship to learn.

Having thought about my brush with fame I had a hunt through my backup HDD and lo/behold found a rather shaky copy of Rockface!

So, enjoy one of the worst/cheesiest lines ever to grace our TV screens, you’ll know which line it is when you hear it! Now you know why they only made 2 series and never released a DVD!

If you pause at 38 secs you’ll see me. No. 48 with a purple/turquoise/black Pace top and red shorts. Riding an Orange Mr XC with Bombers, although you can hardly tell.
Fawn at my water splashing skillz!

My wife was an extra in Braveheart as they filmed it near where we live. She got a decent close up too!

I was in bbc super drama Rockface riding my bike, got a decent few seconds on screen too. My mate and I swapped gloves etc to see if the continuity lady would notice, oh to be young and stupid again!

I switched to 1x a couple of days ago, I uses the original bolts but with washers in place of the outer ring.
    Seems ok so far!

Sorry I do not know the exact millisecond for my circuit to trip, but when I press the test button I know its pretty damn fast.

Test button only tests the rcd, not the circuit.
If I fit a worktop and get it wrong I’m not going to fry my kids or burn my house down.

Typing on my phone, Rich explained in the post above about environment factors that require mcb derating.

Oh, and OP, a tester is only as good as the person using it. Maybe get one of the engineers to pop round and do it for you. If your rcd doesn’t trip in time then you are as well not having it. I presume you know the maximum permitted disconnection time?
You can’t also just order mcb’s based on whats already there. Your circuit could require a c or d type mcb and could need de-rated to 20A depending on the building fabric/circuit length etc etc

i’m not surprised the op feels confident if he’s worked on sites and met some electricians..

Remind me to look for weekend work washing dishes in Nick Nairns kitchen, that’ll instantly make me a great chef!

I’ve had hundreds in my life and don’t think twice about working on live stuff.

Maybe you should think twice before you run out of luck. Don’t play down obvious risks, in case someone actually listens to you.

Always hear about dodgy tradesmen but in 15 years I’ve never seen any unsafe work. Untidy, plenty, but nothing unsafe.

    Lol, I love diy experts!
I’m a sparky, spent a 4 years apprenticeship learning the trade. I’ve seen countless bodges over the years and all from people that thought it looked easy.

How are you going to test and therefore verify that your circuit is safe? Earth connection snaps off behind a socket as you screw on the faceplate. Earth fault in your toaster but the mcb doesn’t trip. You just killed your wife/child, congratulations!

Get someone who knows what they are doing!

Cheers, any idea the difference between 9 and 10 speed mechs? It’s a sram X0 thats on it.

I guess the gearing is all subjective. I tend not to spin gears and prefer to stand up and push a bigger gear at lower rpm if I get tired sitting. All riding is in Scottish highland, mostly uppy/downy swoopy singletrack. Might try a 32 as I already have one and see how I get on!

Plug and play = go for it! Make sure the power supply is properly isolated 1st though. Use a proper voltage tester or at a push a multimeter.

Could you use 1×9 and no clutch mech but keep your front mech to keep the chain on?
Considering this as I can’t remember the last time I uses my big ring and I don’t think I’ve ever used my granny ring!

I have a gloworm, would definitely recommend it. After sales support is brilliant. I lost the cable for mine and had a new one (free!) land on my mat within 20 hours of emailing the supplier!

Oh, and I’d get a future proof guitar and keep it forever.
I have an early 90’s Gibson Flying V, plus a a Jackson Dinky and an Epi Les Paul custom. Still not exactly amazing but I can play a bit.
All brilliant for different reasons, if I had to sell one I genuinely don’t know which one I’d choose!

I have an HS33 on the back of my 1996 Cinder Cone. Fitted in 1998 iirc and not touched since other than pad changes. Superb power/modulation and look great. Mine are the John Tomac ltd edition with a carbon fibre booster.

Bought new forks so made sense to fit a disc on the front, better in rain/mud but not that much difference in the dry.

Recommended and good practice but it’s not compulsory. For example, TT earthing systems require an rcd to be used this way to comply with bs 7671 iee wiring regs.

    murf

New regs don’t apply to existing installations.
Rcd’s are worth the effort/expense though and you could fit one between the meter and your consumer unit that will protect the whole installation without having to alter qny circuits.

Briko glasses, a few random tools and a set of decent binoculars in a case and in mint condition!

Off the bike I’ve found an empty purse, £20 note and a fair few pound coins. Weirdest thing was finding a 1960’s purse when renovating a hotel. Was stuffed behind a cistern in the toilet block of the ballroom, we reckon someone had nicked it and emptied the cash out before stashing what was left!

We have re-useables for our 2nd child who is now 3 months. Loads cheaper than disposable nappies and seem much comfier than disposable ones. Cheeky wipes for us too! Thought my wife was becoming a tree hugging hippy when she suggested the whole scheme but it’s working out well.

+1 for Angelcare with breathing monitor pad. It’s well worth it and the breathing sensor definitely works, speaking from personal experience. Now using it for number 2 son, would be without it. Don’t let anyone else tell you not to get one if you think it will give you peace of mind.
