I spoke to someone else who said they’d had bad weather in the Alps, in the 6 years we have been last year was the worst with 4 days of horrific rain every other year has been awesome.

MMM not much was supposed to be going out for a nice dinner with Mr MC to celebrate some exams we just passed but he’s stuck at work with a “who knows what time I’m going to finish” so it’s chicken kiev and oven chips for me (lazy hurry up food) with a cup of tea and question of sport! Rock and roll on a Friday night!!!

The website doesn’t really tell you much! What time of year did you go, lots of snow? Looks quite cool from the limited info on his website, I’ll send him an e-mail. How much was it?

Silverstone is actually quite pretty as well. OTherwise there are a few small villages but no specific picnic areas.

Evie is a lovely name getting very popular.
Ella, Erin? Unfortunately Annie I just think of the ginger girl with curly hair!!
Euan great name .. other Welsh names, Geraint, Gethin?
    Girls: Seren (welsh for star).

Just some more thoughts for you

However a mate of mine picked 4 names for girls and boys then when he son was born called him something completely different as she said he didn’t look like any of the names they had suggested!!!!!

If you phone NHS direct within 2 hours they’ll have someone around the house in full bio hazard gear taking blood to test. I know someone this has happened to. May be worth calling just for your own piece of mind.

Take a spare bike. .. is that a joke!!!! I just take mine and if I break it that severely you can always hire a whopper for the rest of the week! Definately full face and pads though.

Other piece of advice is when it comes to the end of the day and you think “Shall I do one last run?” answer is normally NO NO NO NO you are bound to crash wait for another day!

I bought my Cube from Cardiff Cyclopaedia, 029 20 377 772 at a very good price definately worth giving them a ring. Or Summertown Cycles in Oxford sell them but I’m unsure on their reputation. I know Cyclopaedia will post them out if you find them else where (and this isn’t a shameless plug either!). Thing i like about cube is they are still quite rare nice bits on my bike and super light too.

But does she like the colour though? Now that IS a key factor!!!!

I’m 5ft 3inches however I have massive stand over height on the Cube and it is just an awesome bike. I don’t agree so much about the comments of “comfort” on a FS. When I first got a FS having spent 13 years on a hard tail (I know it’s slightly different if she’s just getting into it) I hated them. I think HT’s are often better as a starting point. What area are you in? I can give you some details of bike shops that could get you a Cube.
To be fair though now I’m used to FS the Giant is awesome however the Reign is quite heavy on the ups and need to be reasonably fit to lug it up the hills. How about a Trance? Anthem? (not sure on price ranges of them so sorry if they are super expensive!)

CG the holiday was awesome .. another shameless plug and hijack .. go to Morocco MTBing with cycle active was the best holiday EVER!!

All of my bikes are XS and I’ve never had a problem getting them! Guessing I’m lucky as I’ve also always managed to get them at super discount prices as they want to get rid of them as they don’t sell so many! Feel free to e-mail me as well if you want a hand, and I can tell you where I get my hands on my bikes. Good luck!

Oh Santa Cruz Juliana I’d like one of those ….. dreams on ….

Definately get a full face! I wen first year and crashed on my face …. not gone back to Morzine/Les Gets without one ….gives you some extra confidence I think!

Have a look at Giants their XS frame is 14.?? inches. I have a Giant Reign 2 although probably not really a bike for someone getting into it.

I also have a Cube hard tail, this one:
    http://www.cube-bikes.de/xist4c/web/ACCESS-WLS-SL_id_31120_.htm#anker

which goes down to a 13″ frame. I think their full sussers only go down to a 15″ however that may fit you.

    Hope this helps.

peronally I loved and was freaked out by Blair Witch, but I used to do a lot of solo night riding in effectively the same woods so I really empathised with the rising panic.

John Carpenters The Thing is a classic, with fantastic pre-CGI effects and some jet black humour.

Another vote for the original japanese The Ring.

The Descent is the best horror Ive seen in a long while. Very claustrophobic (british film about a bunch of wimmin potholers get lost and things go from bad to worse), a lot of shock/gore and some really dark twists and developments. Very impressed and gutted i didnt see it at the cinema.

28 Days later is good too, love the music as he’s walking around a deserted london.

Have you looked at some of the Cube bikes ? I’ve just bought a Cube WS hardtail and it’s awesome! Have a look at Chainreaction although I have a sneaky suspicion you could buy them cheaper else where.

Area … well we landed in Marrakech and then went up into the Atlas Mountains and did a very large tour. Telouet, Ait-ben-haddou, mmm can’t remember the names of the other places at the moment. But a wide variety around the mountains and staying somewhere different every night.

    Poppy fields everywhere.

Me and Mr M-C on day 1!

Descending into that valley on sweet singletrack!

They have some interesting ways of crossing rivers!!

Must’ve been end of day …. can’t think why else I’d be sat down!!!

End of the week everyone survived!!

there are loads of pics, as I get the best ones I’ll do a second thread in a few weeks once I’ve got through everyone’s pics, as we’ve downloaded everyone’s camera.

If you ever thought about it do it! It’s £860 ish to Cycleactive, then have to pay flights. That is pretty much everything except beer which is cheap so only spent another £100 there between 2 of us. Awesome and well worth it! would love to go back ….

My 1994 Kona Fire Mountain, I save up for 18 months when I was 14 to buy that bike! I have taken it to Morzine and ridden World Cup DH courses, I have been Welsh MTB and cyclo x champion on it, it reminds me of my youth … and I still have it now .. not sure how much longer it’s going to last though!!

No idea about pros/cons of their use, however I do know a lot of people whinge about them being an eyesor on the landscape however I disagree. I find them very relaxing and cool to look at. Look at the ones at Afan as you ride past … brill! would be happy if I had to look at them from my back/front garden.

How about fireman? shift work but at least they can sleep on nights!!
    guide, outdoor pursuits!??
guess as someone already mentioned you need o have a vague idea or at least tell us what you don’t like/want to do/places you don’t want to live!

How about doing one of those bike charity cool trips in South America for a few months? helping build houses in slums or something?
