(mr M-C posting) chapaking, youre spoiled for choice! Ive been to portes du soleil for 8 years and for the last 4 its been on a 5″ Coiler. I ride with guys on 8″ Glory’s and we’re pretty even on most trails.

If youve got a DH bike take it, it IS a DH mecca, but a reign is 6″ which is hardly under equipped! You might “enjoy” the flat sections and odd climbs more on the reign but most people ride full-on DH bikes.

Mrs M-C did it on a hardtail wih 48mm elastomer forks the first year (which ground to dust and ended up rigid but flexy), then on a 5″ I-drive and the last couple of years on a 6″ Reign.

Harvik gutted for you, me n mrs M-C have deliberately decided not to ride this w/e despite the nice weather so as not to tempt fate.

If they are on your private property you can take what photos you like! I’d go to the head master, I’d also start documenting all these events, however minor you (or others) think they are, then you can always go to the local neighbourhood officer and start getting ASBO’s running (start with an ABC, acceptable behaviour contract) hopefully it will nip it in the bud. I’ve used ABC’s before and on some kids they work a treat if you get them early enough. Good luck it must be a nightmare and I feel for you.

Punk_Drummer I wouldn’t bin it completely. I’m not a postie however my mates husband is he’s 30 has been doing it for 5-6 years and still loves it. I guess often being in a job 27 years is hard as you see what chances, bureaucracy that comes in. Ask Oldfart about it honestly but I’d still consider it (if they are recruiting).

Exactly as Nonsense says. I work in a large city which supposedly has one of THE best facilities for homeless people in the country, people flock to the city to gain access to the homeless facilities, as such deal with this massively in my job. There used to be a big issuer seller who sat with his dog, looked skanky and begged in between, he would catch a black cab to his plot every day!!!

Someone suggested that not giving them money but food instead is saying you don’t trust them and may offend. At the end of the day if someone is genuinely homeless and struggling they will NOT turn down the offer of food and they will be ever so grateful. The majority of homeless people are homeless because they are raging alchoholics and drug addicts and unfortunately they will save your money for drink/drugs.

Okay so if you take the package can you afford to continue without a job for some time? That’s what you have to weigh up. Sounds like you’ve decided that you want to move on but at the same time is it the RIGHT MOMENT. I know people will say there’s never a right moment but you have to have enough income to cover living, even if it is a very basic standard. If you can and you think it’s what you want to do, I’d say go for it, sounds to me like you certainly need a change. Good luck and if you can go for it.

From Cwmcarn you could go over the sirhowy valley back towards Cardiff, Rhydry, ridgeway loads of stuff around there, I would’ve thought with a map you could even find a lot of it quite easily.

Nonsense you have said exactly what I’ve been thinking and I’m in the same situation as you, agree completely. I often don’t bother posting anymore as the minute you try to explain you get slated/shot down in flames etc etc. I’ll keep doing the job to the best of my ability treating everyone the same and trying not to get disillusioned by general sweeping criticsms like some on here.

I have not commented personally about my thoughts on this incident however I think Mildred has written a very informative and open response getting people to think about things they may not have. This is the reason that I don’t comment personally anymore either about these things. I think NickC has the right attitude and I certainly do not stick up for all coppers. There are a resonable amount out there that use to much force and need to be sacked however it doesn’t help with videos like this and people jumping to conclusions.

Orange are decent bikes but personally I don’t like the look of them!! Mr MC has a Kona Coiler and loves it, it’s old now 2004 but problem is it’s quite heavy. Have you looked at a Giant Trance?? Santa Cruz??? I’m sure there will be millions of suggestions coming along soon!!
