If you pay now, and they go bust in the next six months….it almost looks like a high risk investment deal, ie too good to be true?

Worth it for the parts even if the frame is mince?

Fresh eggs make a huge difference

Try a 12 second dunking into the boiling water prior to cracking open, it gets them started and keeps them together.

Crack into cup before dropping into water. This allow a more accurate dunk

Expect to screw up many times before getting it right

My matrix shorts are pretty poor, what is with the cheap and sharp closer? It’s like something from cheap school trousers. The set of gloves I got where appalling and lasted about 8 rides before the seams split.

Yet I have dh shorts which are 3 and they take a total kicking and are stIll perfect (apart from the rubber crown bit that fell off…..)

same here, not a huge difference from my 2006 forks even with kashima, FIT etc. i assume the floats are no different?

Daft question, can you use SRAM links on shimano 10 speed chains? If so can you use a SRAM chain on a shimano 10 speed set up (like you could on a 9 speed?)

Sb66 is about 7.5lbs, that would be a deal breaker for me. Nomad, enduro, spicy?

what about a NP mega? anyone compared the two

it has the advantage that you can still buy one (if they have stock)

to redress the balance in the interest of statistical relevance (and the original post) the answer is 30

    28: 44,870 votes
    26: 532,475 votes
    30: 60,095 votes
    0: 800,597 votes

by the way, i read the question to a mathematical type friend and he said the answer was 0. so if its on paper you can get all clever clogs with it. if you process it at each stage you cant.

still sticking with 30 by the way and no you cant see my workings

only changes i am aware of is a change to a large can air shock and different shock tune

according to the internet the frame weight is 3.3kg with shock. my inaccurate bathroom scales puts my frame and rp23 at 3.5kg ish. not terribly heavy, its the 160 forks that will make it 32lbs ish i reckon.

i bought a frame with the intention of building it up because after a demo 2 years ago and despite some obvious flaws (uphills) it has a certain crazy quality i havent quite found in any other bike….

if it is like mine the grease gun head does not loosen and only brute force can remove the gun from the fitting. i see the video from competitive cyclist also just pushes on and off with no loosening…..

anyone else actually manage to loosen the knurled end?

i am in no way slagging chinese manufacturing – they do most high end products these days (all the SC carbon frames are chinese i think?). it is just that they also do the low end stuff too. you just need to know what you are buying into that is all.

when it snaps, and you land on your face, and you are eating your dinner through a straw wouldnt you just wish you paid for something from a reputable and trusted company? how good can it be for that money? its like those cheap chinese 4×4’s which visually are 4×4’s but dont even register with encap safety ratings….

carbon wheelsets at a reasonable price

carbon frames at a reasonable price

those double eccentric pivot things as starting to show on the SB66 and that crazy ibis 29er (imagine a 5 with a single pivot location but non linear swingarm action could solve every suspension set up with barely a linkage in site)

should add that i have never needed repellant at mabie, kirroughtree or dalbeattie. i must have been going fast those days. that said i got loads of bites at GT last weekend, which has never happened before so they must be bad this year or the old legs are not what they used to be

skin so soft, works like a charm

but you need to be greased up like a chipendale – they will bite where you havent used any. didnt remove my watch one time and the wee blighters gave me a red bracelet

truth is it is up to you to get it right, building control are only there to check what they want to check, it is your responsibility to meet the regs – i think you even need to sign something to that effect for the completion certificate

so house at A you where either lucky or unlucky- you decide

    2012 already, its only may!

how come no more blood? i bet they end up the santa cruz 4x of the orange range – ie no-one buys one but then wants one when they arent available!

woh that pretty cheap, how come the europeans seem to get the stuff cheaper (canyon and all that). is it just rip off britain?

    munkyboy

i heard they where better, but you need to keep greasing the nipples, otherwise they fail faster than the old nomad, which from personal experience is PDQ

i cant believe that no-one knows this, lappiere advertise their weights! and most other manufacuturs you can find on the interweb, but orange frames seem to be a mystery. does anyone know? I suspect they must be heavy ish (29-30lbs for a five pro?)

simple, find an architect / architectural student to do it, most architects will work for peanuts at the moment

either that or get out some pencils, a scale rule, a measuring tape, some graph paper and a rubber.

planning will want scale drawings and are very unlikely to accept a kack sketch-up model.

always wondered if it is worth the 200-300 g increase in weight for a slight bit of hassle and the chance to stop and get your breath back. still tempted mind you

no stem cap? 8O i am not sure that is good idea as the stem clamp allows you to load the headset bearings properly, and at the end of the day holds your fork on. if it was a good idea and saved weight then why doesnt anyone else do it?

still good but i preferred the olden days –

put the runway back the way it was with meaningful tabletops and flow, unlike the mini kicker fest it has become

narrow eas dubh back to where it was and let it get a bit rooty/gnarly – see below

let the trails roughen up a bit, its a bit of a gravel driveway

i have had exactly the same, twice, in the past. had never made a CRC link, but they both made o2 prepay things. i guess crc may have a hole? off to check my accounts

anyone used a simple connector type such as innovations AIR CHUCK SL. would these be compatible with generic 12g cartridges. would 2 12g fill a 2.35 tyre. think all the answers are yes but not sure. could be the best cheapest and lightest option as far as i can tell

is this all about ‘having a carbon nomad’ but not needing one? after all it is the envy bike du jour, which probably generates all these lovely comments.

have to say weird build though, mind you i have an old 224 with sids
