To use the patch kit you need to remove the tyre, clean, abrade and stick the patch then add liquid and re-seat the tyre with a mini pump? Am I missing something but that does not sound do-able at speed and in the mud and rain?

Hipsters are so funny. They all try so hard to be different yet look identical with beards, sweepy hair and tattoo sleeves. My boss has just grown the beard and developed swoopy hair so that means the look must now be culturally bankrupt (think david Brent’s leather jacket)

Have the previous version and having demoed the alpine 160 for three days I would say they are at least comparable, but the nomad will be lighter, probably 2lbs (my nomad2c was 30lbs without pedals with a normal build and no dropper) The carbon c version full build must still be at least 30lbs though? So maybe saving 1lb or so over an alpine? I am sure someone will come along and says this is nonsense soon. So not a huge difference.

Personally think it makes a huge difference, but everyone is different.

There is lots of shortcuts but you don’t need them. Everything is an icon or in the pulldown menus. Just mess around and you will learn it.

It is not your fault as it really is not that intuitive.

What does Bplus do? Heavier and draggier with less damped suspension, or did I miss something? Or is it a fat bike love child thing?

They should think about making them lighter and accepting a few more failures… :-)

Yep fluid is quieter. Mine is silent as I have found it so utterly tedious I will find any excuse to find another form of exercise and not use it.

You have no comeback as you haven’t paid for a professional unfortunately. This is pretty common when people look to pay minimal fees for this type of work. You should have had a contingency of at least 5 percent, but as others have stated you can fashion your costs for the later elements of the bill to counter any of the out of the ground costs. Just be wary that some builders may also use this type of thing as a cash cow or an excuse to delay. They often test just test how much additional work they can squeeze out of a client…good luck and play hard ball with the builder – they will be used to it.

Score an x in the stalky end and simmer in a little vegetable stock till cooked. Fantastic. Also only eat them after the first frosts of the year or they taste much more bitter.

Did vpp not make a lot of sense when shocks where far more basic? I think that generated the appeal of the original blur (which rode way better than a single pivot superlight with a similar shock)

    I was tempted. £40?

What’s the problem with a counter rotating link specifically and what is the best of the suspension designs theoretically? Difficult to answer

I agree a composite single pivot could be super light and super simple and no-one seems to make one?

The delonghi machines for about £45 are excellent. Just get some decent ground coffee. Way way better than any of that nespreso/ tassimo nonsense and unlimited choice. You will get the usual stovetop, cafetiere and aero press advice around here though….

Just add up the overall cost for 2 years of ownership. You will find they are pretty much all the same. Slightly cheaper for the older models, slightly cheaper for low call and data quantities. Only thing I would recommend is going for a low data plan as most places have wifi or the 3G connection is so bad it’s not worth using.

What is scary is how much it does add up to.

Scotland or whatever it is is very dark at the moment. I hate to say it but everyone is getting a bit too emotional and I think this will lead to people getting hurt on Friday. I have heard of people reporting both sides to the police for aggressive behaviour….

The architect is being a bit dumb as you can’t practically set out a true ellipse

Get the architect to draw it again using 2 or more part circles with centres placed on the preceding circles radius. This can be set out properly, will be close enough and everyone will be happy

This is what I had to do after setting out something with an ellipse and asking someone to build it….

Bim/ revit is big money now as the recession is over and everyone needs it. Just remember that everyone working is now learning it on the job so in five years it will be a standard skill and probably pretty badly paid. I don’t know this but I have 50 people sitting around me learning revit after using cad for the past 15 years…

It’s like the end of a marriage, you don’t both decide that one of you is leaving for someone else. It tends to be one sided and rather messy.
