Huge loss. Been going for 15 years and never tired of the place. I too am amazed at the general lack of interest at the UK losing the World Cup. Hopefully this will be enough of a push to revitalise the team, track and support and get it back to where it should be.

As above. Had the same with idiot flatmates. Oil filled radiator is the solution. I had 2 one for display that I could demonstrate was off (stopping arguments) and a flat panel type tucked behind my desk that cranked it out.

figuring stuff out just costs money. Used air blowers, bar heaters, gas cylinder fires, loads of options but oil filled was the solution for a damp cold flat

Love the change to a commuter bike as you flip through the images. Clark Kent / superman thing going on.

Future? The pace is so fast on e-bikes that thing will look dated in a couple of years time. Watch as batteries and motors shrink rapidly

We got protective film with the Thule bars. We also got some rubber tubes you shove in the seals at the foot connection that closes the gap. So no leaks

But do take them on and off because they whistle and eat fuel (non aero type)

Gutted. I will be boycotting it in protest. Luckily they have made that really easy

I always check what others are drinking. Bit like never going to a quiet restaurant I never touch anything the locals aren’t drinking. Bit limiting but avoids the cheesy pints

I see nukeproof bikes are appearing back at crc from October. Looks like they ordered a reprint of last years product.

that is going to make some warranty claims interesting if you have a current failed frame (buy new and swap?)

Had same issue in storage but it was slight corrosion on the disc that then gubs/smooths the pads. Now ultra careful bringing bikes out of storage to not use the brakes until everything is cleaned up.

    ‘previous owners’ good one

Must use that line to explain some random sneaky purchases.

standard profiteering. you pay heavily for loyalty these days in every walk of life from bills to pay packets. Seems counterintuitive but it must work and make some evil manager look good at a board meeting.

Wish I hadn’t started this! Think my point was 22bn sounds a lot to a lay person but is relatively insignificant in the scheme of things. Feels like the start of Cameron’s austerity measures that were painful and largely pointless politics. If they wanted a positive agenda they could have said we have 1100bn to spend which is a bit less than before so let’s not go crazy.

Must be a halo product surely. Assume all the cheaper battery groupsets and droppers will appear over the next couple of years.

They are running out of time. Do now or have the chair pulled out from under them when trump wins.

Saw some folks ragging these on the big stuff recently. Obviously very capable

Use revit every week as well as autocad. Revit is just awful over complex software where you lose days of time over modelling. It is way too complex for simple stuff and really struggles with getting decent basic outputs without a serious time investment. That said there is no other way at the moment as it is becoming the expected skill set. I have been on numerous training courses but they are relatively useless. Best is to learn next to someone or use YouTube tutorials doing specific relevant tasks. It is a very long learning process though.

Gone and now the bottom car park is stuffed with folks looking for some easy /fun stuff which now involves a climb. I must stop moaning about how bad it’s all become but my kids now hate the place!

Have both. Swap between them a lot. It is quite noticeable, prefer MX for fun/janky stuff, 29 for all out speed and insulation from what’s happening. If I had to pick it would be MX but I am that annoying 5 10ish height that sits in the middle. Horses for courses as they say.

    Good one

Found a rather industrial looking e-bike on Instagram and an enduro ish looking thing called a satsuma.  The e-bike is next level filing cabinet aesthetic.

Proprietary shock, really expensive and locked into SRAM/ expensive derailleur /  likely unsupported in a few years derailleur.

Not a chance I would touch it. Possibly in a few years when wireless is cheaper and Shimano provide competition. What a miss as otherwise it looks great!

Was told not to put date of birth on CV and you can no longer ask at interview. Slightly crazy when it’s a good indicator of experience

Was up at the weekend. Not impressed at all with the new bits. Endless samey berms with a few mahoosive jumps (which most flat land). Also it’s in really poor condition already- braking bumps and slippy stone shale everywhere.

No way to session parts or close push up path near. Disconnected from the new ‘centre’ and yet close enough to have dog walkers bumbling about.

Shouldn’t complain but it feels like such a missed opportunity

Suspect the result will lie somewhere between those two maps in the telegraph. Can see why swinney has played the independance card to get the voters out in Scotland

Nice to see a frame price starting with a 1.  1400 for the frame feels like the current sale price after the last few years of nonsense

BBC has been a waste of time for a while. Met office is best with accuweather for rain over the next few hours (but even tracking the predicted rainfall radar is often wrong) oh and AccuWeather doesn’t seem to count drizzle as rain, which in Scotland is a major issue.

Aargh I hate affinity stuff as it’s just not as good as photoshop (I use it at work)  but for standalone software at that price I may be getting it anyway.
anyone know when the deal ends?

As said 2. 5-7 and a putter. Perfect for sneaking on the second hole and being nimble / scarpering when caught.

Spent many an hour playing and angling the body or club to get a different pitch on the ball.

That said playing properly about 10

Dandelion wine? When homebrew was the fashion my parents made gallons of the stuff. Win win surely?

So if you are in fort William today only 30 in the mens race come down the hill? It used to be about 60 and a proper day out but it’s now half the action?

Belford and a whole bunch of other major nhs projects were binned recently as well as a massive reduction in social housing (2/3rd cut or thereabouts) so I wouldn’t expect anything for a few years (and the repercussions of those cancellations will soon start hitting the economy)

Never had an issue till I started using muc off. Or at least I had 2 sets get micro leaks while using muc off. Swapped cleaners and never had an issue since. Probably utter coincidence and I know that’s how superstitions are made but there you go.

What makes you think you don’t have a cavity. It was common practice to close the cavity at all openings and stick a bit of dpm in to split the external leaf from the internal (we do the same now but it’s a thicker insulated strip) Beyond this I would expect 100mm gap with 50mm insulation, or 50mm gap minimum. Would be very very surprised if there is dpm splitting the leafs all over.

So as above measure it anything over 200mm suggests a cavity of some form. Would expect 300 at that age

Is that sport pursuit thing a scam? Looks too good to be true.

(Bit wary after being nearly caught out by the jellycat identikit website for my niece)

Logs burners are pretty carbon neutral. I get the move to electricity but the grid is probably decades away from being as carbon neutral. I totally get the pollution aspect and rightly it should (and it looks likely) to be limited but in rural areas this is the clearly the wrong decision at the wrong time. Scottish government trying to do the right thing but mangling the detail as usual.

Had to hacksaw a carbon Santa Cruz. Took seconds worryingly. Very satisfying though

Yes. Just press the plus (or minus) on the other controller/ joy con and player 2 will join.

The switch is a masterwork in console design and interface – even if it’s aging a bit now

Not seen a thing anywhere. Is everyone too scared to offend or is real news too oddball for it even to register
