Issue seems to be German dealers know how maximise their margins. Have had my dsg serviced twice in a UK VAG dealer – first time was £129 the second time £149 for oil, filter and vat.

Without stating the obvious, if the seller has little or no form and they are selling goods at below market prices you don’t need to be the sharpest tool to realise that there is a very strong chance you will get burnt.

In the late 90’s early 00’s I had three primera’s in a row until I got a brand new P12 estate in 2003 (the version you are thinking of) in two years and 70,000 miles it ate two turbo’s three dmf’s and among the memorable experiences one of the rear doors opened by itself while going round a roundabout. As op above testifies, heavy on the juice not paticuarly pleasant to drive and had too many Renault derived parts in it.

Stick with a mondeo for what you are looking.

Cat among the pigeon time – will be probably putting mine up for sale as after 2 rides I am coming to the conclusion that for the type of riding I do I’m overbiked 80% of the time. I have found that whilst it climbs surprisingly well it only starts to come alive when you start to crank up the speed through fast rocky sections where it feels brilliant, however where i ride is slower speed natural singletrack with a lot of tight switchbacks and if truth be told my old Sovereign made much more sense.

Great bike for up and down natural singletrack but the finish was terrible – after two wet rides rust was dripping everywhere.

This was the second long travel steel hardtail I built in the last 18 months – I then went on to build another eight – I SHOULD HAVE STOPPED AT THIS ONE 😈

Not to pee on your bonfire squire but that platform had a fundemental design issue with its aircon system – were the repairs under warranty? If so they should be still covered under the warranty. Otherwise you will have to accept you will pay for on going aircon costs or wind the windows down when it gets above 15 degrees.

And in descending order of preference I have also built and ridden
soul – all the positive love is true, sov just has more character
alptitude – gorgeous riding bike, finish is dire
pa (mk2) – lovely feel but bit too chunky
p7- rides beautifully but again a bit too much girth
456 – bruiser that loves to point down
pa (mk1)- lovely ride but a bit too lardy
inbred – wee bit too nervous
    chameleon – **** meeee back!!!!

Clarkes shoes for kids used to be an assurance of quality and value for money – not any more, since they upped sticks from the west country and decamped most of their production to Cambodia whilst still maintaining their above average prices we won’t be buying any more from them – bobbing rastards 👿

The Turnip fella would never make it to the diplomatic corps so I would not worry. Definitely different but truely all the better for it -please come back with your thoughts on how it rides.

Having been on the look out for a good tourer for over 6 months that is a brilliant find – that was not listed on the 75 owners club forum where usually the best cars pop up so you did very well to find it. That definitly is the most car you can get for the money, great find!!!!

Have done three pairs my self in my garage and on the street on fabia’s – the first set took about four start to finish by the time I got the knack I have got it down to just over two. Be aware that the cupra bushes do transfer alot of harshness through to the cabin – the standard ones have been upgraded by VAG a few years back and are more durable than they were but do provide much better ride quality. I ended up replacing the Cupra ones myself after 1,500 as they were so harsh. Ideally you need spacers to drift them back in. Have a look here for some pointers.

Got some Powerflex front bushes with only 1500 miles on them if you are interested

You only have to cast your eye two inches up this page at the banner ad. for a clear example of this!

I assume you are talking CRC, last time I was in their shop they were in the UK.
However as it’s you Spongebob you must know better.

    (without the brace thing)

Pray tell why squire? Shirley it was added as the first batch without it was more prone to letting go (though it did look cleaner without)

Hustler’s build up to being cracking bikes to ride and unfortunately in my case also cracking frames – hopefully if you have a warranty issue it will stay with CRC and not be passed on to the UK importer.

Niall what you should be asking is- are things so fecked now Dave and his mates are in control that something as well engineered as RoadieSeans motor is still not sold – can’t see you getting anything better than that for under 12 grand

Don’t hold your breath – same issue as you, changed employers company car was replaced with an allowance and was continued to be taxed for 10 months as if I still had one. Then spent another 8 months trying to get my money back, eventually got a cheque from them for half of what was owed. AND THEN two weeks later had a tax inspector on my doorstep unannounced saying I owed over £7k -still not sorted, **** halfwitts!!!!!

Same as the op I had a current account with A&L, always was trouble free. In steps Santander in September and immediately charges me £5 because I had not put £500 in the account in the previous month, I ring them up and tell them 1) I had lodged over £900 the previous month 2)First I heard of a minimum amount required. Call centre bod apologises blamed it on an IT problem and assured me it would not happen again.
Quelle Surprise the buggers have charged me twice since then.
Thankfully I have a Smile account as well where I have always had no trouble and dealt with friendly bods.

More than anything B&Q mowers are a lesson in you get what you pay for – bought a petrol one from them three years ago for £114, filled it with oil and petrol and started to cut my grass – it cut ok but nothing special but within a few months became increasingly difficult to start due to oiling of the plug, tried to adjust fuel as it seemed to run too rich but everything is made of cheap emmental so there is little you can adjust before it snaps or rounds. By the end of the first year both front weed had cracked so contacted the customer service line to enquire about replacement wheels, was told that this was an obsolete model and parts were no longer stocked. So **** that bit the bullet and bought a Honda at £240 and not one bit of bother since

Much as I resent giving the feckers the business as they seem to be hoovering up the choice Joe Public has on the high street Tesco were by far the cheapest for me too.
