Having tried most of the disposables and always ended up having to go back to Mach3 which would only last me three shaves. Stumbled accross Wilkinson Titanium disposables – absolutely brilliant, shaves close and lasts for about 15 shaves. Sainsbury's currently have them on half price @ £2.41 for three.

With out stating the obvious the lending market in general but the mortgage one in particular seems to be in a state of contradiction. Not three months ago (July 09) I fixed @ 3.95 for 5 years with no arrangement fee's and they even paid me £100 to take out a current account with the lender (A&L). Yet now the lowest 5 year fix is around 5.5 with a big fee- yet LIBOR has narrowed a fair bit since then. For my tuppence avail of current SVR and look again in 9-12 months.

Pinches sums it up well but having owned Octavia's with both of these engine's buyer beware if they are on variable schedules. The turbo's on the 2.0 have a much greater potential of going bang due to the extended oil changes – best case scenario is a new turbo and cat, worst case is a complete engine being needed. If you can, try and buy one which has been on a fixed schedule.

Might be the EGR but 1.4d4d of a certain vintage are known for blowing headgaskets – do the normal checks. Brilliant engines and normally bulletproof but when they go wrong it ain’t cheap.

If you have not been using at all there is a good chance the seals on the compressor have dried up meaning it is knackered. The smell is caused by the bugs in the ducting, either crank the heat up to full and run it at full blast to kill them or if this does not work buy something like Comma aircon cleaner which fills the car with a gas that will kill them.
