He was brilliant at the sunny niche he found, and didn’t take things too seriously . Hopefully the dirty dog treatment the producers of Place in the Sun showed him did not hasten his demise

@freeagent + definitely would advise some research on Mazda diesels engines that are ULEZ friendly. Have a great tendency of producing eye watering bills.

Spank do a wider range of Skyscraper bars upto 80mm high. Gave them a whirl a few months back as CRC were doing them for £28 and would be happy to pay the £90 retail they are so good.

Sending back a dead ebike this Thursday for repair which CRC arranged last week. Praying to all the Gods that they stay trading this side of Christmas so,
I)I get my bike back before the administrator pulls the pin and Mike Ashley turns everything to sh!t
II) All the Poor’s sods working there don’t get turfed out before Christmas.

Ernie very surprised you weren’t aware, power suit was very much a key part of recognising women trying to be part of a male dominated world in the 80’s – primary coloured dresses with large cut shoulders, pumped up poodle hair does and a handbag usually big enough to swing with authority usually covered it.

What will be the tipping point, when the Middle England  demographic who are being fed this nasty pathetic rhetoric do wake up to the reality that the current flavour of  Tories are just kunts and they despise you as much as those unfortunates that find themselves without a roof.

Have tried quite a few different cases over the last 16 years , eBay specials to stoopid money versions for a bit of Chinese plastic ( albeit with a bit of engineering built in)- Otterbox always comes out as the safer option.

Not to pee on your chips Sharkey but whilst the Yeti looks like a decent car reasonably priced from a dealer, check that the Haldex has been serviced at least once if not twice. VAG cheaped out and fitted a Haldex5 to this generation of cars which ideally needs serviced every 30k miles (or sooner) including having the built in filter cleaned out (this is rarely if ever done unless it has been serviced by a decent indy) If not cleaned out the Haldex pump burns out and 4wd does not engage, even better it will not flag any warnings on the dash and not until you need it will you find your driving a 2wd car. Good news is a replacement pump is about £230 fitted and 1hr of labour will replace it.

Currently got a mk11 1.8tsi and a mk111 150tdi – unless you are doing over 18k pa I would not recommend a Euro6 diesel In the MK111- too many filters and pumps waiting to be replaced.
The 1.8tsi is a nice engine, decent bit of torque and easy to get 34mpg in average mix of driving. However they have a fundamental design fault on the piston rings and unless its had a warranty replacement walk away. Had a MK11 diesel in the past and overall it was very reliable As long as it has had a full history with regular Haldex (including filter) changes. Apart from that all versions have the common traits of being comfortable, easy to drive and oddles of space in them.

Cheers Tom, I know he has positioned himself as the goto for Bosch motors but I do not believe there is an “open” supply chain for Shimano bits.

Have A 12 speed xtr mech that went bang when the top pulley pulled out of the carbon side, was climbing at the time on a rough stone path with no form of collision or interference from rocks etc. Currently pushi g back to Madison to see if it is warrantable, will be disappointed if it is not as it has do e just over 300 miles in 3 months. Temporarily replaced with Deore flavoured one and barely notice the difference in shift feel.

Currently running a 9000 Aero as a daily except when there is salt on the road. Relatively easy to work on, build quality is amazing on them , easily breathed on to run around 320bhp  and still able to achieve 36mpg on a run. Prices are now starting to rise as the supply of decent rust free cars dry up. Quality and character by the bucketload relative to modern  cars.

Currently up to 521 miles on an E-sommet – using Squirt every ride and up to 20%wear on a Park Tool chain tool in soft muddy conditions.

Dark Peak grit would be a different matter.

Definetly a case of putting a bit of effort into maintaining an ebike drivetrain.

E-sommet is an absolutely stunning bike!!!!!

Was pretty much blind -8.5 with an astigmatism in one eye, got tired of very expensive lenses to stop the milk bottle bottom effect. Got Optimax to do it one eye at a time – the pain was unreal for the first 36 hours but back to being a cycle courier three days later. Best money I ever spent and that was 24 years ago.

Matt try and set as many email alerts as you can for a low mileage 2004-05 Alhambra with the 130pd engine..
Missed one last month with 82k for £1700- they are out there if you are patient.
Experience has shown cars from 2005-2006 onwards started to have designed obsolescence increasingly built into them.
I bought a 2010 Octavia Scout three months ago which had a brand new short engine fitted by Scotlands favourite main dealer shysters at £8074.00!!! last year, this was due to an inherent design fault VAG had failed to see or accept responsibility for – in addition the dealer failed to fit a new auxilliary belt or rear diff service which means I probably need to spend another £2300 on it.
Modern mainstream cars are now merely white goods with short design lives before you need to spend ‘000’s to keep
    them going.
However if you are confident that your Galaxy is a good one, everything you are concerned about is consumables.
As long as the electrics are stable I would pump the money into it.

After 13 years of decent customer service with happy helpful advisors it appears
That decision makers within the business are doing their best to drive things onto
The rocks. The refreshed website is unbelievably bad, unnecessarily complicated and hard to navigate around.
Would have been Cutting edge in 1997 but the numbers of punters they are loosing over this dog breakfast must be big – next stop for me
Is First Direct. It has to be asked htf was this ever signed off.

that will be the disgruntled retiree who walks the dog or grand kids once every other weekend and complains if something doesn’t suit them.

Nail on head, friend of mine was marshalling at the event and was told by disgruntled dog walker he was going to walk up the coarse while riders were coming down and it was the organisers fault if he was hit. Some people have strange ideas.

It appears that she is just young and not very smart – needed the money quickly so she could buy a Note4 as she did not like the 3 week old Iphone I bought from her.
She then sent the money back to me even though she did not keep a note of my number when she handed the phone over to me yesterday but then decided 20 minutes after we did the deal to send the money back to me and then email me to request I send the funds to her bank account. 😯

Ran 120tpi flavoured ones for 6 months tubeless – never had any issue apart from when I fitted a Bluto and punctured within 2 miles of riding on rocky trails as the pressure was too low.

Have an estate FR 150 at the moment and have to say it is poor.
The ride is harsh on 18’s but you could forgive it if it handles – it rolls like a galleon!!!
5K in and it does 45 mpg yet does not pull especially hard.
    Various quirky electric issues.
Heating would be poor if it had not got electric seats
    DAB is good speakers poor.
Seats do not fit me and are very uncomfy.
    Road noise is loud.
Wish I had gone for an Octavia

Something not right though – go to choose the smoothie headset listed at £14.99(bearings are crap but at this price the saving will buy lots of grease)
When you click in to it it changes back to full list at £39.99
