There's loads of 'exploratory' stuff. I spent 3 months living up just east of Thurso. I rode with a bunch of lads form Dounreay where I was doing some research. Round Forsinard and Strath Halladale there's some good forest tracks/ landrover trails etc that are VERY remote.

    Love it up there.

The XT500's are now really climbing up in value.
    Always fancied one of them.

RD350LC? the same situation though, either dogs, raced, wanted for racing, or mint restorations (expensive). Mind you the powerband makes up for all that….

    I agree with oddjob,

For a year, it would unlikely be worth it, even if it was for much longer than a year.Have you looked into how much you will actually get for it. esp as you will prob not be part exchanging it. By how much you will get for it, not how much some book says it is, but how much you could actually sell it for cheaply.

I'd stick with the aygo. Seriously. Unless… do you actually need a car?

Chainsuck? on a singlespeed? Mind you I guess previous owner could have run it geared. Not that I'd mentino such things on an internet forum, but have you considered contacting the original owner to see if they can contact Cotic….mind you Cy will have seen this now. Hi Cy!

Seems very harsh to me. Manufacturer's not honouring warranty's because it has changed ownership doesn't promote green antics in a 'I'm not using this I'll pass it on' kind of way. Also, what with Cotic frames being mail order (mostly) the chances of pople buying worng size frame etc then selling them on will be quite common.

If it was me, I'd hassle Cotic, and maybe settle for a 'deal'. If I didn't get any luck out of them, I'd pop pictures of the frame and crack on a popular mtb forum, saying "look everyone, don't buy one of these, they crack"….. oh hang on…..!

Mocha has got chocolate in it.

I thought espresso is where the water moves through the beans as a steam and then recondenses as hot brown liquid: hence how the Stove Top Espresso Machine works.

The Jané matrix that tinkerbelle mentions is what we have but with the wheels. We bought it 2nd hand off ebay.

Etienne used to sleep in it when we were camping as well. Great multipurpose piece of kit.

We looked into this. There was an adavntage in getting the Estate Agent to do it, rather than a company.

But…I can't remember for the life of me what it was. Maybe something to do with actually owning the hip search,r ather than having access to te results, i.e if you take the house off the market, or a limited applicability date or something. Plus I think the estate agents were saying they would have to verify the results of an independent. We looked into this and some fo the freelancers did not seem to be offering them to the accepted industry stadndard…..

For me the 'season' is the racing/ sportive season. I keep on riding through the winter though. Some serious racer types take a break for a month or two around this time.

Something by Jané or similar got our vote as it includes a car bed rather than just the back crippling for the baby on long journey's maxi cosy.

The car bed can also be used in an upright position like a maxi cosy and doubles up as the pram bit that goes onto the wheels. Wheels are good…3. disc brake etc.

Now used in pushchair mode now and again but we mostly use the backpack. When E was a baby we didn't use the pram mode much either just used a baba sling. Car bed works great. Means weekends away with long drives no problemo.

    Happy lifes.

I reckon a cg125 would do a round the world trip Juan.
I reckon one probably actually has.

As for a 125 two sroke race rep, that probably wouldn't do too well on a round the world trip.

Not that there are many (any?) two stroke race rep 125's made any more due to emission regs…

I have often heard Dave Hinde and Ribble mentioned in the same sentence.
I have never bought a bike or frame form them, only components, and have not had a problem. Not the speediest though, i.e. only use Ribble if significantly cheaper than wiggle or crc etc/ have an item that CRC/ wiggle etc don't.

high rise, low rise, flat bars. The only differenc they make is where your hands go in relation to height diff between saddles, reach and distance from the other hand. If the same can be achieved with say a flat bar plus spacers and say a high rise bar with no spacers. Then in terms of comfort and geometry it makes no difference. In terms of engineering: moments etc then yes…

I think it's done the job. Not 100% sure as I'm in the process of building my new frame up and there's some vibrations from the sti's as they are not cabled up, and no bar tape on etc so banging around a bit.

The axle didn't feel loose, but I undid it, took it out, had a look see and put it back and tightened. It feels better but time will tell. Suprised how little there is in the hub! I'm used to (but hate servicing them) cup and cone. Never had to touch a cartridge bearing hub in 3 years of running various models.

    ermmm .

Some very posh totty (judging by the accents on the phone) solicitors in London…ermmmm forgotten the name sorry.
They were very good though, once I'd accepted that my bike was not going to be back on the road courtesy of compensation 1 week after the crash.

Have you checked the CTC website, they're probably mentioned on there.

Oh hang on, big mistake: my solicitors were the ones through British Cycling and they were (after checking the BC website): Leigh Day & Co

    oh cheers mate.

Not even looked at it yet to see what the prob is so you could (hopefully) be right. It really is the slightest play, but sends vibrations all through the bike when gently bouncing it on the floor.

Flaine always reminds me of the nearby village of 'Carroz des Arraches' or similar which, according to Mrs Mugsy used to be 'Arraches des Carreaux' (french grammar letting me down…)which literaly translates as 'Rip off the Tiles' so it got changed to 'Tiles off the Rip'

    But… I digress.

(and someone has already mentioned Flaine)

It's what we did Mr Nutt, only it was a 7.5 tonne self drive truck, it was to the south of France, and I needed to be back in the UK two days after we moved in anyway.
