there’s a difference between someone having a mortgage in principle and having a load of mortgage money in their (solicitor’s) bank account
Yeah but what would you rather have? A buyer with nothing to sell or a buyer with a chain but no need for a mortgage? Once buyer, who comes across well, who has nothing to sell has invested in a survey they’re a good bet IMO and better than one with a chain.
Surely a cash buyer is only a cash buyer if has nothing to sell? Mortgage aspect is less important – as long as they can prove then can get one in principle.
Depends what you do and who you are and how much money you need/want. I wouldn’t do a job I hated – well I’d do it until I found another one. Current job doesn’t really tax me but it pays me as much as anything would and people are nice so I stick with it for the time being plus it’s fine for my CV. I’ll review the situation later in the year though I do listen to agents when they call.
Easy with the seats out. In my Roomster I take out 2 seats, leaving one for my son, and put in bike in bike bag upright and then get loads of luggage too.
With all seats out I can get a bike in with front wheel off.
You would be relying on the property growth alone.
Just buy a bigger/nicer house to live in; nice way to enjoy your money and benefit from house price rises – as obviously they’re going to carry on going up and up….
Let them believe for as long as you can keep up the game, it’s all part of the fun. Having said that my son’s currently designing a ‘booby trap’ for when he comes next.
Yeah I need to be right next to the windows which are wide open, even on the coldest days, and a fan in front of me. Lucky to have a room I can keep the heating turned off in.
If you are going the offset mortgage route and you’re doing tax returns then don’t forget to declare the interest that you have had offset. One of HMRC’s favourites for querying a return.
Please clarify what you mean here – I don’t follow you at all.
My offset tracker worked well for me – Woolwich/Barclays 0.49% above BR. I did build up cash ISAs though as well but I’ve switched all these to investment ISAs so worked out nicely.
I planned to buy a C-Max but tried a Roomster and liked it so much I bought that – very happy with it and frugal (for a petrol). I hear the C-Max isn’t as good on fuel as official figures suggest.
