There is the Turing Test – something to do with gayness I think.

it's probably quite good for winter training, from memory its one of those places where you'r always going into a headwind!

Yup – I did a lap of Anglesey and then Holy Island last week in strong winds and rain and it really did seem I was always cycling into the wind!

Yeah it's not so far to Snowdonia just that I think cyclists may as well base themselves out that way – unless they want to combine the holiday with other activities. The water sport market seems a good option.

Sometimes you just have to think about the pay cheque – some people have no choice.

When my manager was changed last year I thought my job, which I liked a fair bit and was paid well, for would become a lot worse. New manager was someone I knew very well and she's difficult to work with. So I thought about leaving and things did get pretty bad for a while and I'm annoyed about that as I get on well with the other people I work with and enjoy what I do. Trouble is not quite sure where else I'd work – quite happy to take a pay cut to move from IT consultancy to an end-user company if close to home as would love more free time but hardly anyone's recruiting in what I do. Unlike BBB it seems I have always planned for a lower income future and have paid off my mortgage so shouldn't feel worried about things really but do feel stuck at the moment.

Given the amount of people I see driving over 70mph on the motorway I'm sure there are a few on here who don't stick to the speed limits…. Anyway, my problem which I need to snap out of is driving at the speed of the traffic I'm in so do find myself going over the limit at times.

I visit my Gran in Holyhead every year and have been told to be careful about my speed – so far so good but I do wonder if I spend too much time watching my speed that I might not spend enough time watching for bad drivers who might cause me problems.

For some reason I seem to have decided that a Panasonic plasma screen is the way to go.

Just got back from a trip to Afan – BTW, W2 is Wall and Whytes so maybe you want to try something else?

It's really not worth the risk of getting it wrong – support your LBS….

We'd be in a better position if all income tax didn't get spent on supporting those with inadequate income…. But for some reason there are more poor people here than ever before?!

My wife's Chinese though I've only been once for a 3 week trip but we travelled about a bit.

There's obviously no point trying to do China in one trip but I'd suggest flying to Shanghai – although that wasn't of much interest to me other than seeing a modern Chinese city in all it's gory – Pudong is worth a look if you like sky scrapers. The main thing is that Suzhou, Nanjing and Hangzhou are nearby and all worth visiting, my favourate place was West Lake at Hangzhou which must be one of China's finest attractions with plenty to see – enough for a long weekend at least.

    This site was very useful:

Once the climb is done are the downhill sections OK or are there tricky rocky sections, tight switchbacks, risk of falling over cliffs…?!

I have a Naim amp and CD and it's great so bu99er off! Perhaps the hicap is a bit OTT but I got it 2nd hand like the rest of the kit.

Obviously if I had a cat I'd not care if it shat in other peoples' gardens as that seems to be part of the mentality of cat ownership, but if I lived next to a python I'd probably make sure it didn't wonder too far.

BTW, is it not a bit mean to keep a creature that never comes into contact with one of it's own kind? Does it not need a bit of like minded company – or just something to shag? Or do owners of snakes take them to meet up somewhere for a bit of company?

Thanks for the advice here. I bought a pair of Specialized BG Pro Road Shoes and went out for a good ride yesterday, not only were my feet more comfortable but I did feel more solidly connected to the pedals.

Used to go out with a girl that woke herself up when she farted – not the smell just the noise. We learnt not to do that 69 thing after she'd had a curry.

People really were rather stupid in the olden days…! 😉

Can we get some pics? Then we can all decide on the best method of repair and then make bets on how long it'll last.

I was hit by a lady when I was stationary – she was looking for the name of the road and not where she was going…. She admitted responsiblity at the time but her insurance company wanted 50/50 so I told mine I wouldn't accept that. They then rang her up and asked he if she was willing to go to court to say it wasn't completely her fault. Her company then paid up 100%. Annoyingly my insurance still went up because of it at the next renewal.

Get the neighbours to play 'Everything I do I do it for you' on repeat at full volume whenever there's a viewing.

I just hope that their achievements are mentioned and there's a bit of a clip of the Tour – I doubt this will happen but if/when Cav gets green he would deserve the prize.

I have VM; had loads of problems getting installation sorted a couple of years ago – would arrange an appointment over the phone then no one come and so I'd call and they'd have no record of the appointment! Happened a few times but I stuck with it and did get some sort of compensation – eventually all installed and OK after about 4 months. I can't think that I've lost the internet – maybe for a few hours once or twice. Currently phone line not working which apparently is due to damage to the cable in the road – not affected the internet connection though for some reason…. Gonna take 3 or so weeks from reporting the problem for blokes to fix in the road which is a pain. Upgraded speed of 10mb seems guenuine when I've tested it – I live in a village in Surrey if that makes any difference.

…Hushovd comes in 6 minutes later than the stage winner then bollocks someone…

Yeah a bit like a footy team struggling to stay up playing a mid-table team and then getting annoyed that team that has nothing to gain actually tries!

I can't see Cav getting green this year but what do I know.

That place has been empty for a while…have thought that a place selling bike consumables would do OK there at the weekend – not sure about the week.
