that shouldn't excuse abusing the world we live (points at China)

Why them? The US are the worst polluters by far right? In terms of per capita China have nothing to be ashamed of.

Watch out where the huskies go…

White is rather lovely but deep purple would rock.

I thought the post was clear about the kitchen… 😉

Need to allow for some sort of storage in the room too I think.

I wish I had mittens on strings. I used to love having those…

It really is the perfect idea – solves a problem simply leaving no downside. My wife drops hers too often so will suggest.

My mate's done some of the well known ones including Trans Rockies and only failed to complete the Cape Epic – got fed up with riding in sandy conditions.

Many don't understand thermostats – they think it's like turning on another bar on the fire. I got annoyed with a girl at work who saying it was too cold turned it up to 25 degrees despite me trying to explain; the office then got stupid hot – for me anyway.

I'm working from home tomorrow – hope my boss is OK about that…no way I'm driving from Leatherhead to Rickmansworth – doubt I'll get out of my road as my road won't get gritted. Had to abandon back in Feb when thought I'd make it through the 10 inches we had then.

I thought about what I'd do if I was a manager…and decided that the fairest thing is to say that those that can't get in don't have to take it as holiday but they are expected to make up the time by working late or whatever suits. I think no-one wins or loses this way….

think about reserving some of your 25k for a set of steel wheels and winter tyres.

I am not intending to spend anything like that much but just curious as to what might be considered – the Kuga seems like a practical 4wd car but would need a good reason for going for it over a Focus.

I have Toyo Proxes T1 R on my Puma and found them poor going up a snowey slope – I do like the idea of a spare set of wheels with snow tyres if they make a significant amount of difference.

Hmmm…well I imagine people might be rude about this but 12 years ago I was killing time in The City before an interview and saw a Suits You store and thinking I could do with a suit I went in and chatted with the chap there who seemed to know his stuff. I asked him to show me his best suits and selected two which I bought. Fitted my perfectly and I still where them now but they're too big as I've lost so much weight since then – definitely worth my paying to have them altered though.

Penhydd is the only Afan trail I'd take beginners on though if OK on that then try The Wall expecting a fair amount of bottling.

Nothing in Wales is stronger than Barry's really.

Well I really disagree with that! Potential for pain is worse on most places and def more skill required IMO at both Afan and CyB trails.

I suppose we will go to Afan although I'm told it's a little dull.

I don't think it'll be dull for beginners…or anyone really if they've not been before.

BTW, IIRC the ratings of the routes at CyB don't match what's on the website so red and black do seem a bit interchangeable.

I've got a feeder and drinker that does them for 3 weeks and we've left them for two weeks with just the father in law popping in every other day to collect eggs.

I have a large drinker and feeder but the drinker freezes in this weather; need some sort of battery powered heater to go in the water.

I'm sure it is a fair contract as my new company is rather large and must take advice on these things – I see that if we get a doctor's note then that's fine.

No mention of claiming holiday back if ill when on holiday – does anyone have that?

From the BBC article on this:

The government says it is needed because the republic's 1937 constitution only gives Christians legal protection of their beliefs.

If this is the case then I suppose they should change their constitution but that's a hard thing to do right? So in that case maybe this is quite a bold move for a Christian country.

There should be some people soon telling us prices are far too cheap at the moment…. I just hope my company decides that 25p/mile is a bit mean sometime soon.

Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it's over-rated – you just don't get it…maybe…. I suppose those bands/artists considered to be in the top few of all time must be considered over-rated by many as not everyone can get them.

I saw RHCP before they were big here ('89) so I liked that they later had a few hits but now they're mainstream I suppose which is a shame.

I suppose some can't get past Dylan's voice but for those with less simple tastes there is a lot to admire – obviously really because it's all about his music with him.

As for anyone thinking Zappa is boring, well I assume you haven't listened to much of his stuff – the variety is wider than anyone elses by far so boring doesn't make sense; in terms of musical skill pretty much at the top and comparable to classical composers as well as rock artists.

Is it not illegal to use growth hormone on animals here? We don't import US beef for that reason.

I wonder if someone might want to make animal shaped products out of healthy food – you know, for the kids.
