How many know what the red flags mean? There are probably signs about saying what they mean but some people don’t read signs. If you travel a long way to a beach then I suppose some will just want to go in anyway.

Can’t help those types really – so do we let them take their risks?

I get a little bit bothered by accronyms that are followed by ‘s

I pointed this out to my boss who argued so I googled and proved it; he still uses his apostrophe.

Many people also use them when talking about decades – The 80’s?!

A gf of mine years ago had a contamination due to looking after an infected sofa for someone. I used to get covered in bites when I stayed over before it was sorted out. They never made it back to my house though so not sure you need to panic.

Curiously they never bit her – she is black but not sure if that was the reason.

From the pic up there… there’s nothing wrong with Jones’s. Where a word ends with an S, a possessive apostrophe can be used with or without a final S.

Well it’s betterer to include the s if it’s pronounced as it is here, if not pronounced then it’s best left out.

The crux of the biscuit is the apostrophe.

Handball, is it popular in other countries? Seemed to be on telly in France whenever I tried watching the Olympics.

Another shout for the racing puma. They have always held their value and were produced in such small numbers, but at a reasonable launch price,

Well the launch price must have been too high as only half of the 500 were sold but yes a nice car – I had a 1.7 for 9 years.

would have gone for Coupling as my favourite so far, but seems to be largely forgotten about.

I did like that and watched some of it in again last year, the Welsh guy made it really and he left before the end. Green Wing and IT Crowd stand out for me – Still Game too, The Office I suppose but ended up liking the US version best really – after the 1st series that is.

Rather like Man Down at the moment.

I created a spreadsheet for helping people to understand how mortgages work. If interest only you can take the monthly capital amount and invest that or if you have a flexible enough mortgage over pay by that amount and treat it as a repayment mortgage.

With rates so low in my opinion it’s a good time to pay down capital.

Nah it’s a good time to use the cheap money to invest – long-term…. Done me well but I’m borrowing at 0.49% above BR.

A bloke who locks himself in a cubicle just for a pee is not normal. Even worse would be a sit-down-wee-wee type. Freaks!!

    Do you check?

Unfortunately one of the admin staff received a blow up man doll in the Secret Santa distribution of gifts. She is not amused.

Couldn’t she just have asked who wanted to trade their gift for it? Trading gifts is good – less wastage.

I had a number of failed install attempts too and although it stayed in Win 7 it wouldn’t boot properly, fortunately I was able to system restore to a stable install point and then try again and it worked ok. Happy enough with it.

Have many businesses gone to Win 10 yet?

Logically not paying tax on pension contributions is fair as its like deferring your income – you’ll get it as income later in life and pay tax on it then. Gov’t likes this as an incentive to defer income from when we have more than we need(?!) to when we’ll have less.

The 10 weeks I spent in a warehouse unpacking boxes was hard to justify just to get some cash. Once spent a day filing paper but worst was stuffing envelopes – I did a day then didn’t go back.

Made my time working at McDonald’s seemed fine really!

If you are only just a high rate tax payer then even better as you get taxed a very small amount extra but all your pension contributions get 40% relief.

    That needs a reference surely?!

IMO focus on mortgage in earlier years then get more interested in a pension once a higher rate tax payer. Use ISAs as long-term planning as well as pensions.

The pension calculators I’ve seen annoy me as assume you want to earn so much % of your salary rather than what you’d need to be OK – and also don’t consider state pension which we might still get one day….

I thought it was quoted here sky was 35m euro, best paid rider is Sagan at 5m

28m Euros was mentioned on ITV4 IIRC. Interesting:

Fat’s useful for long slow rides but skimmed milk must be better for faster ones. Not that I can imagine drinking it whilst riding, great for recovery though.

I get paid it then pay it back – I prefer to do a tax return as seems easier to make sure I pay and get back the right amounts. I figure I may as well get the payments as could lose my job one day so will want CB then.

Don’t move out, what will presumably have to happen is that the house is sold and 2 new ones bought – is that financially possible? Unless she has assets to buy you out?

I ride on road around there most weeks as working out that way; some decent climbs up Cleeve Hill, including a silly steep one, and nearby Stanway Hill is nice up’n’down.

I’ve met a few leavers – my social circle consists mainly of younger, educated people so mostly remainers fortunately.

The leavers I know were motivated by immigration thinking that reduced immigration will result in higher salaries and reduced house prices. Well we may get lower house prices with a recession so maybe that’s a win for them?!

Hmm not sure that’s right as doesn’t match up with the payment levels I think.

How easy is it to rent out? Yield isn’t too bad really and capital left is low so I think it could be worth keeping – but keep it rented out!

Oh – what’s the mortgage interest rate and how long left to pay off?

    mudshark
    Free Member

How much is left on the mortgage? This is important as if you do have some capital it may be able to earn you more money elsewhere – by reducing your mortgage at least. Also, are house prices in your area likely to change over the coming years? Maybe they’ll stay still or even fall. Keeping the house was probably a mistake IMO us the yield doesn’t sound great from what I gather.

Not selling for the sole reason of not wanting to take the £10k loss is a mistake – mature investors don’t look at it that way.

As a younger/poorer man I often lost out to the big drinkers but didn’t really mind, one day it was pointed out that I’d had a more expensive meal than the others so I should contribute more – was miffed at that.

Once went to Brugges with a largish group and a few of us picked up the bills on our cards on differnt evenings as easiest and everyone would settle up later. One of us was an accountant and she wrote down what everyone drank so everyone could pay their right amount. I was surprised/amused but some didn’t drink much so fair really.

10 miles, was there today. I spent most of my life away before returning to spawn. Wife’s about 5,500 miles – Jingzhou, China.
