Might not work out if you do get the fine though – depends on how honest they are…oh dear.

Flaperon – well I think you're OK if you don't use the TV for broadcasts an are covered by a license at another address which I suppose students will be.

We had a big one used for DVDs, X-Box etc

Still supposed to have a license.

I see; Several times a day my connection goes for a short while so maybe this is them switching around?

Oh, and the person who is liable for the fine is the one who is caught watching the TV.

Really? Just turn it off when they come knocking then.

Whilst you may need one for each person with a TV I wouldn't worry about that but if someone doesn't get one for the house then I've seen on the TV that they'll come to get you.

On a slightly different view point…

My mate's Gran was never a cyclist in the sports sense, just one of these people who thinks that if you're only travelling a mile or 2 you should ride it. So She was still riding into town on her bike with it's basket well into her 70s and only stopped when she had a stroke.

Oh well a touring bike so steel with mudguard and pannier mounts. Would use as a winter bike for road rides.

When I lived in London it was brought in and there was no difference in ease of parking – just had to pay each year. I lived no where near shops/tube so no reason other than to raise cash as far as I could see.

So why don't people make bikes with them anymore?

For speed it's a good idea to rest your forearms on the bars and steer with the cables to get a nice low position. Let us know how you get on.

Not sure how widely known this is but 20p is the legal tender limit for copper coins – might need to take to a bank.

sharkbait – I was wondering where it is; will try to ride over to have a look sometime.

My wife had something similar last year – they gave her 3 months salary tax free I think – severance pay? HR decided that she had done nothing wrong but her manager didn't want her to stay on .

Well it seems to me the obvious answer to all this is to go on holiday in term-time, so getting the cheap prices, and leave the kids at home – best get a relative in to look after them though. Then in the holidays send the kids on some sort of holiday camp. Everyone's a winner….

I've been looking at Skodas and wonder if the Roomster is more practical than the Yeti – just not so good looking? I have the brochures for both and the varioflex seating sounds good, as for space the Roomster seems to have a touch more in the boot.

My M-Part cable guides use zip ties as well as pads – yours aren't the same or you think the zip ties look ugly?

As is the contract (law) relating to attendance at school.

Is it? So a legal as well as a moral issue (well, only for some it seems)?

And if I was to become a pro-cyclist my life would be more to my liking too I'm sure.

My contract is quite clear on my holiday allowance.

You don't need any strength in the teeth (unless the bearings seize), so plastic is cheaper, lighter and quieter.

But as they do get worn more strength would be nice.

I would SO love to do this as we can't afford an overseas family holiday in school holiday times…BUT, blow me, I'm the teacher…no choice.

I'll trade my 2 weeks somewhere nice for your 6 weeks somewhere less nice….

My parents took me out of school like this for the first few years but that stopped when I went to a fee paying school…. I don't think it sends a great message to the kids but no idea if that really matters – parentally supported truancy? Also, we moved house to a different area a month before the end of term when I was 14 which meant I missed exams; obviously didn't mind at the time but these days I really think there's no reason good enough for what they did.

Is this the clip where she says her pyjamas have pictures on penguins on them suggesting that makes it OK?

Anyway, whilst I find it pretty odd that anyone would want to go outside like this and I would sneer I am sure, I'm not entirely comfortable with someone telling someone else how to dress.

I use CVPs when it's in between muddy and dry and think they do well then…but only because I have them and prefer other tyres when it is dry or muddy. Have ripped a knob off now though.

I used to wonder if my slim, short, female martial arts coach could beat me in a real fight.

My wife is a lot smaller than me but like those yappy dogs needs a slap every now and then to keep her in her place….

OK thanks happy now! BTW, it's OK to mix the wheel styles so different ones on the front to the back?

My boy racer days are over…next stop mid-life crisis so some sort of car upgrade no doubt.
