Update – he’s now the proud owner of a Dean 3/4 Stratocaster via ebay for 50 sniffs and a Fender Mustang combo from Gig Gear in Harlow (great shop btw, really helpful). I cant believe how good that little amp is!

Trouble is i saw a Spector bass while i was looking on ebay and bought it along with a Cubee 20XL bass combo to play it thru – doh 🙂

    Thats a joke!
If you get over 50mph on the M25 you’re really moving.

The CX170 is a great shoe but if you can stretch to a CX236 you will get a massive improvement for a few quid more – full carbon sole instead of glass fibre, leather upper instead of synthetic upper, Outlast inner etc… They are much stiffer and sooooo comfy.

The new 2012 range will be showing at the Bike Show this weekend. There is a new inbetween 170/236 shoe using a Sidi buckle instead of a Boa system.

I have some of the Merlin ones – probably the nicest brakes i’ve used (mind you, i’ve only ever had Hopes in the past). Just left my 180/160 rotors on the bike and will probably sell the 200’s that came with the brakes. More than enuff power. Had to shorten the hoses and the bleed was really easy too.

Funny that, looked at exactly that at GigGear this afternoon – may stretch to a cube20XL so i can put my bass thru it.
Saw a lovely 2/3 Ibanez guitar to go with it too.

    Yup thinking about acoustic too.
Wont go too cheap – buy cheap buy twice lessons learned!
3/4 sounds like a good option, they werent about when i was gigging so its all a bit new to me.
Ibanez might be good – he’ll match daddies bass when we get the band going 🙂

Fitted by local guy (had to wait 8 months for him to start though – always a good sign if they are in demand!). He was brilliant and worth the wait. Took him just under 7 weeks working alone Mon – Fri.

Cabinets and worktop from DIY Kitchens (fitters recommendation). All new Bosch appliances from Benq. New boiler relocated in loft. Water softener fitted. Loads of background plumbing and electrical work including new ceiling.

Came in just under £14k all in.

I’ve had the MX140’s for a couple of years. Comfy, functional and the eVent fabric is very breathable so ok when its warm and wet – just wear a merino woolly walking sock when its really cold. If you clump your feet on rocks regularly they may be a bit too lightweight for you but i find them great in the muddy south east.
They have also stopped making them earlier this year so snap them up if you find some.

Are you near London by any chance?
Bikeworks on Cambridge Heath Rd have a lot of experience in teaching kids with learning difficulties (including autism) how to ride bikes.
I believe they have some specially modded trikes that they use. Could be worth a call even if you arent nearby – mail me if you need any details for them.

    Getting really tedious now!!
    Get back on BikeMagic.
    Or buy a Pivot.
Just a thought – can you list how much you’ve spent on this since you bought it?

And you dont have a cats chance of selling it on this forum now 😉

Saw Van Halen in 1978 at the Finsbury Park Rainbow for my first ever gig experience – probably one of the best gigs i have ever seen thru 30 years. Ticket cost £3.50! St Paradise supported (most of Ted Nugents band).

chriswilk – you need to call them. Get a total best price for all the appliances you need and phone them. Dont just do the shopping basket thing. I would have had to buy the things i needed (we were very specific with what we wanted) from about 4 different places to get the best prices. Benk got the lot for the same combined price in one single delivery.

Just went thru the exact same dilemma. Ended up with a kitchen full of mainly Bosch best buys (Pyrolitic oven, induction hob, extractor, dishwasher and washing machine) supplied by these guys Benk
They price matched all the internet guys – i called them up with a total amount for all the appliances that they needed to beat and they came up trumps.

Always found Pearl Izumis are pretty good – last for ages and really comfy. People have said they are as good as Assos (although i’ve never tried Assos) but a lot cheaper.

M6TTF has it nailed – bet you left the bike upright. You have to leave the wheels on their sides for a good while over the 1st 24hrs or so.

Its useful to change the direction every couple of rides so the rim sidewalls wear evenly.

    Its not stiction.
I bet you greased it and that tends to soften the epoxy which then glues itself to the inside of the seat tube. Its effectively superglued in.
The coke should work (use fat coke and not diet btw)- pop the bb out and tip it in thru the hole. Try to keep the frame flat on its side and rotate it 45degrees every day so it gets down each side of the post.
Keep doing it for a few days then do the breaker bar/ saddle nose thing.
    Good luck.

Never ever fit them to the seat post – too much stress in places that arent designed to take it. Just get the correct bar to lift it away from the wheel.
And those Leco top tube ones are an accident waiting to happen – they dont pass any of the UK safety standards. My company stopped distributing them a few years ago before we got potentially whacked by a lawsuit.

And dont forget its scary when giants start talking to you.

I always found it more rewarding when you get down to their height to talk with them – they seem to open up a lot easier. My little one used to love it when i lay on the floor to play with his toys with him.
