Try a Vangard base layer if you can find one. I've tried most materials and brands and find the Vangards really reduce the "chilly, sweaty back" syndrome somehow. You can wash them at 80deg too so they dont stink.

Just bought a Hi Gear Mojave 5 from GoOutdoors for 150sniffs – reduced from 280. Loads of room for me, mrs pup and jnr pup. Plenty of standing rom inside the porch and sleeping areas and a quick pitch too. Highly recommended and an upgrade over my Vango Beta 350.

Fenix PD30 is a good balance of battery life, small enough for a helmet light and 220 lumens.
They will be popping up in the bike shops about now because MooreLarge (Kenda, Lake, Haro distributor) have just taken them on.

I had a "Life" 2 years ago but got rid cos i couldn't get on with it even though i really wanted to like it as it looked great, was made from trendy 853 and was a bit unusual. Felt too low and long at the front end even when i changed the Rebas for Revelations and whacked a higher stem on it. Unless you were caning the arse off it the ride was really dead feeling. Wouldn't lift over anything easily and there were a few tight corners on local rides that i always had to really muscle it round – never had it with other bikes so could only be down to the frame really. Got a Whyte 19 instead and its a million times better – nippier, comfier and smilier.

Did anyone hear the Salsa rider going off at his changeover when no-one was there too meet him? The air was blue and we were falling about laughing watching from a safe distance. I think his mates must have left him out there to see what interesting colours his head would go before he exploded.

ps Hope you liked your new Tifosi glasses mrsflash – birthday pressie from all of us in the Kenda tent 🙂

They are a good mob. Early days yet but very professional and teach to a recognised standard which will help you get work in a bike shop should you choose.

    Oceanus are nice.
They are made by Casio with GShock guts but look like a divers watch with solar power, auto time update and titanium case/strap.

Operation Mindcrime was the groundbreaker but i rate Empire as my favourite album of all time – the production is awesome and, being a bass player from back in the day, Eddie Jacksons bass sound is frighteningly good. Songs like Della Brown, Lucidity, Best i Can, Thin Line, Jet City Woman and Empire will never be bettered in my opinion.
Really went off the boil after Empire and De Garmo leaving but the new American Soldier album is a real grower.
Rage for Order is worth a listen – it was quite experimental and was a big step towards Mindcrime being written.

Its an accident waiting to happen – best case scenario is a busted seat tube/top tube weld and worse case is kiddie bouncing down road.

If you go to your LBS, ask them to show you an OK Baby Ergon or 10+ kiddie seat. They can be supplied with a ‘small frame’ specific mounting bar which should sort it out. They are supplied by Moore Large and the product codes are OSCOO1 or OCS010 if the LBS can’t be bothered to look in the catalogue.

Juan – do you think the fork companies produce a ltd run of ‘journo only’ products!!!
There seems to be a lot of analysis and ‘tear it apart and fix it’ advice when all you need to do is take it back to the shop and ask them to warranty it. If you start tinkering with it you will invalidate any potential warranty claim.
    Job done.

Worst – Citroen C3 hire car in Ibiza – gutless, tinny and squeaky
Best – Seat Leon Cupra TDi – Fast, comfy and good value (compared to a Golf)
