I remember listening to a discusion on the radio last year. So many people said they were gonna buy a 4×4. Idiots.

So sad to read this. Been in some pretty bad states of mind myself, you always think you’re the only one. Poor bloke.

Guess when you loosen the nut the bolt will be hard to push out if the shock is trying to extend. If it isn’t trying to extend it should come out easily. I’ve always let the air out.

I let the pressure out. After I service the spring it’s impossible to compress it enough again to engage the threads on the sleeve. I have to put it back in the frame and use the whole frame to compress the shock.

My bodge hasn’t slipped, in fact it’s quite a tight fit.

I glued a piece of beer can on to my 26.8 post with araldite and it’s a very good fit. If you wanna raise and lower the post a lot it might be a bad idea though.I cut 3 sections of can to make it a bit more manageable and zip tied them down.

Not listened to “dealing with it” for a long time, but it’s a classic.

Some time around 95 I bought a new bass, an early 70’s gibson eb3. Second gig in southampton I threw it on the floor after someone yelled, “play some punk”. I had drank a lot of cheap dodgy lager. I saw I had broken the wood where the input goes in. Next day we had a gig in leeds, I got it out of the case to look at the input, then I noticed the huge crack in the neck. Got it repaired but must have knocked hundreds of pounds off it’s value. Bought a new bass and now I don’t have to think about it every day.

If you buy drink from system bologet it’s not too expensive and normal strength.

Thanks for the pic. I’m after a flux, think they have changed that too. I’m only 9 1/2 stone so I might be ok.

“re the cracking of 08 DW frames. I have seen two do this now in the same place-at the base of the seat tube, but Turner have changed the design in this area and added a gusset which has fixed this problem.”

Thought DW link was introduced in 09? I’m curious to see what they changed to cure the cracking problem.

Only tried it once with a really big one. Had to abandon the ride after about the 3rd puke.

Sorry for the hijack but if the flux is a medium I might be interested Nuke.

Had a pair of the ones with a cage around. Had trouble clipping in even though I cut half of the sole of my shoes off. Swapped for some original stainless ones and replaced the bushing and bearing. They still wobbled. Gone back to shimano and time. Never again.

I just bought a marshall bass cab from ebay. No one got it the first time so he relisted it. Second time I bought it and was the only bidder. After a couple of days discussing courier costs he is now saying, “I’m sad to sell after having it for 20 years”. Bought it for £100.

A friend who I used to go riding with rode one and he loved it. Forgot how strange they look. He said linkage forks would kill off telescopic forks, he got that one a bit wrong. He cracked fork, swing arm and mainframe.

No matter how much beer I drink or cake I eat I can't seem to put on weight. Always stayed at 9 1/2 stone. Maybe I should cycle less.

Need a closer pic. They are hard to service. Found it impossible to get the oil bladder totally full. After I put it back together the eta didn't work, my favourite bit of the fork. Gave them to a friend after this.

Bought some Ti bolts, my 5mm allen key doesn't quite fit but my pedros 5mm fits fine. Never quite worked it out.

Been tempted to do the same on my on-one. Think I'll leave it though as it's quite an important bit if I ever come to sell it. Turned my other geared on-one into a 1×9 and hacked off cable guides and rack tabs, looks better.

Holly from red dwarf. A soothing Irish accent would be dangerous.
