    Thank you for confirming that.

Same happened to me last year when I had a weekend planned in Afan with some mates. I pulled off the sleeve where the travel reducing bands go but couldn’t get into the rest of the shock so put the sleeve back on. Think I must have blocked the transfer port, I was being careful not to get grease near it. Serviced Fox shocks in the past with no problems. On the trail the shock just slowly sank through it’s travel and didn’t rebound. Had to sit out the first day and second day hired a bike that I kept hitting me knees on the top tube and the dropper hardly worked. So frustrating.
Sent it off to get a proper service and it’s been good since then.

I’ve never got the actuator to actuate out of the frame.

I had the v2 actuator and couldn’t understand why I couldn’t get it to actuate out of the frame while pulling on the cable. If you push the housing instead of pulling the cable it should work.

I later bought the v2 actuator but because of the design of my frame and actuator the cable was at a sharp angle going to the actuator. It was constantly pulling the cable so wouldn’t stay down. I ended up filing part of my frame to straighten it up. This solved that problem but didn’t’t stop the post rotating in the frame or binding when I tightened the clamp. Someone made me a 25mm deep double bolt clamp. Now everything works fine.

Done it. The bearings were not quite in far enough.

There is a small washer that fits between the two small bearings on the chainstay, with a washer either side (so 3 washers in total per side).

I put that one back in.

Was looking at a 2016 diagram before, having looked again at that diagram I’m sure they both go inside the clevis. I wonder if the bearings are not seated correctly not leaving enough room for the spacers, hmmm.

I ordered a helmet from there on 11th June. They then sent me an email saying they don’t have it in stock and have placed an order with their supplier. They expect it on 26th July. I thought about cancelling but as I’m not really riding yet I thought I’d just wait as it was fairly cheap. They kept me informed though.

My jury service consisted of waiting around for 3 days until I was finally called for a fairly straight forward case that lasted a day and a half. On the afternoon of the last day I was called for a trial that they said would last 10 weeks or more. It was a very serious fraud trial. Had to write a letter explaining that I would probably not have a job to go back to if I had to do it. I was excused from the case, felt like I’d escaped jail myself.

I settled on Shimano brakes on my 3 bikes having tried Hope, Formula, Hayes, Magura Louise. Bought a new bike last year that came with Magura MT5’s. They are pretty amazing, ended up going down a rotor size at the back. Just bought the 1 finger levers which were straightforward to fit. Not tried them yet but I think they’re gonna be much better. Magura rotors are 2mm thick and Shimano 1.8mm. Front rotor is Shimano but works ok.

I work as a visa courier. I’m getting made redundant along with many others at my company.

Mate of mine bought a Spindrift frame. Looks like a great bike, very well made and bearings have some extra sealing. It took a bit less than a month to arrive I think.

Oatly barista is my favourite at the moment, it must be others favourite too as the shelf where it sits is often empty. It’s never on offer like the others are.

    “Do bike couriers even exist?”

I have been a bike courier for 11 years, although I did have a year off when I was overloaded with legal documents and injured my back. I am now working for a visa company so don’t have to carry very heavy things for not much money. Also bought a bike rack for shopping. My bars are quite narrow but still wide enough to have some leverage when the front rack is loaded up. I have noticed the trend for wide riser bars over the last few years. Not sure how they manage to be honest, must be very frustrating.

Tried a normal nipple and it looked like it should be ok. The last wheels I built I could’t use the squorx nipples which is why I used DT Swiss’s calculator this time. I’m quite disappointed it didn’t work out again. I will type the readings from the dt Swiss calc and use them in another one to see if I get the same results.

Just tried to build a E-thirteen TRS+ on a DT Swiss 350 hub using squorx nipples. I used the DT Swiss spoke calculator adding an extra mm for the spoke washers. The spokes were miles too short, couldn’t even see the end of the spoke through the nipple. Not sure what went wrong unless the stated rim ERD was wrong. Will have to use standard nipples now.

Thanks, looks like the internal rim bed is flat so can’t use the PHR washers.

I just ordered those E-thirteen trs+ rims. They better be 28h as I bought some 28h dt Swiss 350 boost hubs on eBay at the same time. They are still on CRC as 28h though.

AIUI Turkey’s objective is to provide a home for a huge number of Syrians who are currently living in exile Turkey and prevent a chunk of land being annexed by separatists.

If so and if this was being done peacefully I’d have no problem with it at all

It seems you don’t understand. Erdogan wants to resettle people displaced by war into Kurdish areas therefore displacing them. It’s ethnic cleansing and you have no problem with that? Many of the FSA scum are just re-badged ISIS, what do you think they are gonna do to the Kurds?

I have been using Nukeproof semi-metallic pads for Shimano brakes for a few years. Recently bought a bike with MT5’s and bought the same pads. They seem to work very well and no squealing.

You’ll struggle to get a NW in 30t that isn’t direct mount. I think only SRAM 94BCD will take that

Superstar do a 104 bcd 30t narrow wide chainring.

Bought one of the Braeview engineering presses recently, the press worked very well. The extraction tool was a bit pointless. I ended up having to rest the linkage on a Hope wheel support on still needed to be hit with a hammer. Could have just knocked them out with a socket. I asked them if they could make me a drift for a 61808 bearing which I was having trouble installing but they didn’t reply.

I got a reply from Transition saying I need the ML tune. Rebound being L, so guess L stands for light. Guess already being a light rider I’d have the rebound knob fully open and it would still be too slow.

Might try that way next time. Bit messy though.

The code says it’s from an Orange Alpine. CM (compression medium, I assume), RM (rebound medium) and then rezi mfm whatever that means. Also says 0.6 spacer.

I drilled a few extra holes in a mudhugger FR and it was fine with a 2.35 tyre.

I was given a standard mudhugger. I noticed there are a couple of places where the arch touched it. I tried to cut out a bit of the plastic in these areas. Bit of an experiment and didn’t do a great job, looks like I should have a few extra mm a between tyre and guard though.

If anyone doesn’t want their white decals I’d happily throw them a few quid for spares!

If you still need the large white decal would you like to swap for the silver one?

I bodged a squorx tool by filing down the thread on a disc brake bolt and inserting it into the end of a piece of dowel. It took ages and a few goes to get it in without cracking the dowel. After I built the wheels there was too much thread showing, think the squorx nipples have more thread behind the rim bed. I used normal nipples with the PHR washers and the wheels have been fine.

Silver on my main bike. Don’t mind colours though, apart from purple, yuk.

I remember getting different dust seals on my 34’s as the old ones were not rated for gold oil, not really sure why.

Put it in the lower legs of my Mattocs with no problems. It’s only to lubricate the bushings.

Bought some rims from Starbike recently. Good service and cheap.

After considering Arch mk3’s for a bit I went with XM481’s

Hope they won’t be too wide for my 2.3 tyres.

    XM401’s have been great.
