You have to be a bit dim don’t you not to understand that an empty drinks bottle with no liquid in is lighter when it’s empty? Cheers Shirley

Well that was a hell of a lot drier than expected and what a blast it was!

I couldn’t get a pairs team together this year for various reasons so ended up doing a couple of single laps instead, this meant a reduction in traffic on each lap as is was later in the day. Sorry to the poor sods around me on my second lap, I was the one with the vocal front rotor rubbing noise. It was ticking me off a tad and the only way to stop it was to speed up or pull on the brake level a tad.

Anyways a great event to go to. Well done all.

I had a hack round last years course last Saturday before the heavens opened and the unexploded bomb over the other side of the park was dealt with! It was running ok at the time.

I’m on my second T5 nether were brought brand new, just a few months old. Current one as the last one is a work horse (with a half decent spec) to me. But having a van is so bloody handy for transporting Mtb’s and boards. I’m not keen on the fact that they are considered a ‘lifestyle vehicle’ now and it makes me cringe when I get waved at by another T5 owner.

This tread has stopped me whingeing to myself about the fact that I haven’t been able to get out on my bike properly for a while after injuring my elbow and back at work.

    RESPECT to you sir.

You have to laugh. Just noticed the sale banner at the top of this page. boiler fitted from £999….

There are a few variants to be able to get a price on here. Get your 3 quotes and go from there. Every installer has their own preferences. Just don’t go for the cheapest boiler, I just replaced a six year old halstead for a custard which needed loads of work done to it and just add insult their tech phone line charge 80p a minute to talk to them.

I love a natural jump/drop. I surpose I won’t attempt a made up gap jump as I don’t want to crash out spend any amount of time off the bike with an injury. If you can do em then do em.

I do remember myself and a mate age 14-ish (100 odd years ago) jumping 10ft/plus with a springy long board set on a stack of bricks using our ‘scramblers’ a bike built from an old racer with cow horn handle bars on them……

Haven’t watched a soap in 20 odd years. Stumbled across the East of Enders a while ago and thought the sound of our TV was up the swanie as everybody seemed to be whispering and also thought the brightness was buggered too as it was all dark looking…

You can just replace the Synchronous motor on its own if the rest of the valve is in good working order.

Have a look in the wire centre and see what colours you have on the end of the black cable coming out of the Honeywell head, that’s where your be disconnecting it from anyway.

I couple of years ago I couldn’t find my press so in frustration used similar to theses http://www.screwfix.com/p/maypole-ladder-clamps-2-pack/8808r off of the van using big penny washers. Worked a treat. Still haven’t found that bloody press!

So am I’m to assume that they can be easier to ‘find the pedal’ and re-engage after you’ve unclipped on a techie bit?

I not suggesting that we all walk around in hi-viz jackets, just simply wear zummit bright on the road. What has anyone got to lose. As for the bulk the head I’m just a wear that the light emitted into the cab is not as good as a vehicle with more windows on dull days. By the way the above issue is out on the open road not the in town.

Some interesting points of view there. I just think that surely wearing some sort of colour other than a dark colour on a grey day might improve your visibility and possibly be seen sooner rather than later it would be worth it. Regardless of any studies I think if I still rode on the road for long periods of time I wouldn’t dress in black head to toe.

Am I missing some thing here. The OP has called it a ‘trail’. To my understanding this is a Bridleway.

    It’s a trend that’s all. Don’t get me started…..

I saw the original clip too. The reaction from the presenters of the height and length of some of the jumps was hilarious. I could never in my wildest dreams do a jump like these but their reaction just showed how this type of riding is so far off the BBC’s radar. They were opened mouth at the thought of 20 foot plus double headed jumps.

Course the other option is to get a mate to ride in front of you with bar ends…..

My way of thinking is if your looking at an on coming bramble and thinking this might hurt a bit, your not moving fast enough..

Nothing. Just put up with it and get out there. My arms look like I’ve self harming for years :(

It makes this one seem a bit tame as they are clipped in. No bikes involved either.

The beauty of Stanmer park is it is so compact. Just go up on one of the bridleways that run through it, pick off a trail and just ride following your nose. You’ll need to remember that none of the trials (like surrey hills) are sanctioned so beware of walkers and other users.

It was still a good day and we were unlikely to get a top result but it would have been nice to be placed properly. According to Timelap one of us in our team did a lap 26 minutes?! :)

Help! Our timings don’t seem to make any sense to me. We did 7 laps in all but only 4 were recorded, of which were recorded incorrectly. Anyone else noticed this? Am I missing some thing or am I being a bit dim..

Yep a brilliant day, atmosphere with great Marshalls including the ukulele player at the bottom of one of the hills. The timings for us where not recorded probably which was a same though. But hay I’ll be back next year!:)

I know this is a old question but reading through past poosts there is not much concensus. What Alcohol based product to clean a oily disc rotor ? White spirit ? Turps, methylated spirit ? I have been trying to get isotropic alcohol but no joy. Used standard spray disc brake cleaner and it left no back brake for a few days until it burnt off on a big ride so keen to avoid that again.

Just out of interest what are the symptoms of the braking problem?

So how does the start work. What or who decides where you are in the line up?
