Whilst she’s a freecycle addict with a lot of our stuff from there, I’m not sure how Mrs MJ will feel about a used mattress. Will ask her to have a look though.

A quick google didn’t bring up any crazy prices but Is a sub 100 quid mattress going to be rubbish.

We do have an IKEA one on an IKEA bed, which I need to try for size -thanks for the reminder as I was assuming it would be too long.

It’s a pressurised system about 3 years old. Wouldn’t surprise me if more than an ideal amount of flux left in it though.

inside corrosion is a worry. Only bathroom rad though.  At the last service the chap put another bottle of inhibitor in but no other change to the water. It’s a big system though so one bottle unlikely to be enough, equally there wouldn’t have been nil inhibitor in it as I added a few bottles  a few years ago myself.

Like any insurance sometimes you will ‘win’ and sometimes you will ‘lose’. Car repairs can run to several £k.

Follow me tandem is what you need. Brilliant bit of kit – attach and detach the kids bike with no tools in very little time. Goes up to a 20 inch wheel I  think. Mostly used on the school run.  I’ve taken it down a few fairly technical trails too although I doubt it’s officially rated for that!

A question on inverter and battery efficiency.
On the current flux tariff, import cost between 02:00 and 05:00 is marginally cheaper than the export rate (aside from 16:00 to 19:00)

given it’s cheaper to import than export why not charge the battery fully between 02:00 and 05:00 and do any high draw activities form the grid. Then during the day you will export a greater amount

If going gerbrit I’d suggest opting for the larger rectangle flush plate than the smaller round ‘type 01’ remote flush button. The latter is noticeably harder to use.

when selecting the height of the concealed cistern keep in mind where the flush plate will sit. Having the toilet seat hit it is not ideal so  going higher or lower to sit behind the open seat to avoid this might be something to consider

    It’s a T32 xtrail in Tekna spec.

i tried the middle  setting which does the dash vents in your face and fiddling with the open/shut wheel on the vent itself.  but didn’t seem to make any difference.

haha to the other posts. I wondered where that race went…

I think moab probably has it – it’s a Nissan

i do have Floor mats in the rear foot well but I’d have thought blocking that air flow would help the centre console and other vents.

Interesting design those shure ones – the bluetooth driver is a separate plug in unit.

being a glasses wearer on the bike, the fit pro with the in ear wing or the foam tips on my jabra’s looks like the way to go for me, recognising that neither will be secure as over the ear ones.

    Thanks all.
i have the jabra’s too and have the same problem with the tips.

i used to use the shokz ones (basic model) but people complained on teams that they couldn’t hear me very clearly so stopped using them.

The beats fit pro – are they a bit of a halfway house between full over ear loop and stand-alone ear buds. @flaperon- did you get them because simple ear buds fall out of your lug holes?

Quick bit of research on them (one article!) while looking for a shop with jabra ones suggests they have short life  – circa 2 months.

Is that the case, if so I’m not sure that they’ll stack up economically for me!

You’ve hit the nail on the head!

What are memory foam ear buds do they retro fit to existing ear buds like my jabra ones, which stay in when at my desk but on the bike or sometimes wandering around can fall out.

good question. There’s no obvious breather anywhere as both are plumbed directly into the sewer as far as I can tell – the soil pipe with vent is at the back of the house.

however I don’t think it is being sucked out as it happens when the water is running in the sink after it has been left a while even if the toilet hasn’t just been flushed. It has only just started and the sink has been there a couple of years.

It doesn’t smell before running the water only for a short period after.

firstly I declare I have no experience in this area.

talk to her about what you are concerned about, explaining why you aren’t ready (try not to position as she isn’t ready).

One that makes cakes too if you just throw the ingredients in. Ours doesn’t and I’d like it to. No idea how good they are or if I’d use it very often.

the issue with bread makers isn’t so much the making of the bread, it’s the slicing of afterwards. I find this a real PITA.

The problem is if your ears are ringing then this may indicate prior exposure to excessive volume not that the current usage is too high?

@Zilog6128, thanks. My ears have little gremlins in that push ear buds out, what keeps them in for the ergonomically challenged, the ear buds rather than gremlins that is.

It is an iPhone. I did find a setting somewhere which was selected to keep noise down but as you say it’s non-apple kit that is giving the sound so no idea how that works. indeed I’m not sure it does because if I turn the volume up I can get to the sort of level where the rest of the train can enjoy the music too.

Or can you borrow/hire crockery from a supermarket for a nominal fee. Pretty sure I’ve had glasses in the past that way.  This would be more eco, a few dishwasher runs needed being the downside!!

CZ good question  – They seem to fly up and off over the boundary hedge so May have been coming and going for a while – I’ve just not noticed.

    I’ll leave them to it.

    Define sore…

sharp pain in a given point or points on the surface which might point to a corn.

generally aching or more internal pain, could be related to posture / gait too so Given you’ve tried quite a few different sorts of shoes it might be worth a visit to a physio whos a biomechanics specialist.

Did you pay the plumber for a bathroom with tiles on the floor? If you did and they are loose after a few months doesn’t on the face of it sound like things are of satisfactory quality. Ie it’s the plumbers responsibility to make good even if  that is a lot of work. Enforcing them to do so May not be straightforward if they blame your house moving as something they couldn’t legislate for, for example.

Thanks all. I have a new chain, well a few rides old and it’s not playing nicely with the cassette so I think need a new cassette. I do have an xd driver I believe- so I thought either 50 or 52 in gx flavour will fit? But is one xd and the other microspline?!
