ok so 3×2 it is. I’m guessing £7.5 for 3m is probably on the toppy end of prices?

It’s going to be in a outbuilding that isn’t going to be heated all year round so whilst shouldn’t be exposed to the elements I figured treated might be safest.

Regularised timber could still be rough sawn? The 2×2 i was initially thinking of getting is advertised as regularised but not as kiln dried.

2×2 will be too flimsy though?

@ernielynch each upright will be secured top and bottom but not in the middle, so needs to have some level of rigidity I think. Can you give a linky for treated battens you have in mind?

    Thanks for the tips

    @tom83
yes they are like cardboard. Presumably the sales blurb will tell me any ones that are ply backed- didn’t even realise they existed.

    @tthew
. Is that vinyl on the wall or floor? If it’s the wall what did you fit; not seen that and might work for my application as need to cover a large area.

I haven’t fully decided on tiles yet but probably these ones

    https://www.panelcompany.co.uk/collections/white-wall-panels/products/abstract-white-8mm

And these or similar backing board (10 or 12mm)
    https://www.thewetroomstore.co.uk/thermopanel-tile-backer-boards-1250-x-600mm/

the recommendation seems to be a “pinkgrip” if surfaces are porous and an “everflex 450” for non porous.
    https://www.panelcompany.co.uk/collections/adhesive-and-sealant/products/solvent-free-pink-grip-adhesive-c3-size

    https://www.panelcompany.co.uk/products/silicone-450-builders-white-c3-size?_pos=6&_sid=f5c30e291&_ss=r

I assume therefore they are suggesting the 450, since the tile and board are non porous, but the 450 is very expensive compared to the pink grip so I wondered what the options might be.

    Context being current asking prices!

Thanks. The number of different variables does make it quite a bit harder to find vans that tick the right boxes which is perhaps why they command a premium, since the result is there aren’t many ‘comparable’ vehicles.

12.5k for a 9 year old van sounds quite ‘cheap’ from what I can see of asking prices!

The temperature of food can change the impact it has on the body. Cold starchy foods for example pasta have a slower release of energy than freshly cooked. Same for potatoes. Cold have lower GI than freshly cooked.

Quick update and thanks to Hugh for his generosity.

I found the combo of the astra blades and razor whichever one it is to work pretty well for me.
Occasionally a bit of razor burn but i think that is more down to lack of prep with softening the hairs and using enough gel as it seems to dry out a bit by the time I get to last areas.

Not sure I’d have made the switch without this as I was a bit scared about cutting my face to bits whilst learning technique but actually found it to be really intuitive with no issues. Get a much closer shave and now have a more kempt MS Teams presence!

    Thanks once again Hugh.

Thanks all. It’s a personal ipad. Set up as a child within our apple ‘family sharing’.

We do get the approval requests for other apps when he tries to install them.

I have a Minecraft Education license but on the pc version there’s no restriction on installing it, but you need the log in to use it. Id assumed the ipad would be the same. Maybe it is the age thing as suggested. It’s minecraft education rather than minecraft if that makes any difference to the age or otherwise.

Ill check the ios. However, i thought it usually told you if it was too out of date – that’s what happened on an old ipad we had that stopped being updated by apple.

Those taking part, did you get any information back on your own health from the results of the tests, if you did what was it? Just cholesterol and bps?

If they are homeless will they survive though?

Similar to post above, we had one in the soffit above the back door, didn’t notice them other than a steady stream in/out of a small hole they’d found.

Would a chop/mitre saw be more suited to cutting 2×4 unless cutting it length ways? You can get cordless ones i believe. Not so compact of course!

Another possible angle is to consider imposter syndrome. This is where you feel that you are in a position but don’t deserve to be and are worried about being found out.

Id be interested if those who have had therapy feel that it has worked. It can be all very well doing the training but then when you are very stressed, you revert to type.

I think it looks like the original coloured PVC or composite weather board is probably the best way to go then.

Very helpful tips thank you. Does the eps/wool need a backer board or can it go straight to battens (i guess issue with no backer is having battens close enough together)

Are there any Downside of rendering the insulation – service life or durability for example?

Will be insulating (and having windows) to make a garden room type space for turbo or office.

@import – thank you for the wisdom!

Is rendering the wool or EPS better than rendering the board and insulating between the battons?

I assume there needs to be a layer of something – OSB perhaps attached to the battons rather than just affixing the insulation to the batton and then rendering that?!

Have you tried opening up the tunnel with some wrist stretches? Might be more successful for a mouse inflicted symptom than other injuries though.

Hard to explain and google will probably have a video but basically open problem hand out, palm up with fingers together. then using the other hand bend the hand attached to the problem wrist back by placing it on the fingers this should stretch the inside bit of your wrist

Ive been thinking about trying one of these for a while so interested. Am i going to lacerate my self though?!

Sorry to hear of your deterioration. It’s an awful disease.

Hmm. I’ll go back to the orangebox which has many set up options, finding the right one is the problem.

What about if there was more than one tall person at the table or do they only eat with short people?

I was actually planning to use the chair as a non moving office chair.

The seat depth being the main thing i was looking for as height could be adjusted more easily diy if needed

If values have fallen then won’t you need less to buy another car that is similar age/spec to your current one?

In a total loss scenario an insurance company might offer to pay a ‘market’ value that is not the same as cars actually on the market. But if this happens then I think others may be able to comment from experience on the ability to present them with market evidence and ask them to reconsider their offer.

Does having armour, whilst thin help to distribute the force at all? Either way if you can find one with say 10mm of padding that will be better than nothing. 10mm isn’t much to decelerate in but it is more than nil. I had some shorts several years ago with hard shell but some sort of semi rigid foam protection pads about 10mm thick in it.

Or what about those inflating horsey coats?! Need to leave the horse (or bike) for it to work so maybe no help in this scenario.

I phrased that badly. I hadn’t meant network speed although that is a good point it is a consideration. I had meant is the processor / RAM (rather than storage) meaty enough for running android and typical apps (he won’t be gaming) without significant lag.

I was referring to performance of the linked phones at 150/105 price point for 5G/4G.

Not The pixel 7 as that’s a lot more expensive

Thanks! How does the thing perform?

In the past when I’ve bought cheap laptops or phones, they run the operating system but are glacial to start with and that goes down hill to pretty much unusable with updates, or very frustratingly slow at best.

Steadyrack are the best wall mounted bike hanger I’ve tried; and I’ve been through a few of them.

They are easy to use and also enable bikes to take up minimal space as you can fold them against the wall.

One of the best bits is how easy and lack of effort it is to hand and unhang the bike. This can’t be said for other methods like pedal hangers, or other wall hanger with tire hooks or simply wall mounted frame hooks.

They do take a bit of positioning to get the optimal layout and not to interface bars / forks when folding.

I have a number of the fatrack version and it works fine for all tire sizes that I’ve tried, with the smallest being a fairly skinny 26er tire. I’ve not tried a roadbike tire but see no reason why it wouldn’t work, the front wheel will just be angled slightly more away from vertical but will still be secure.

@zomg just about to order a set of frames, not sure which yet. I noticed the holbrook’s have a more traditional arm than the usual Oakley arm as it goes over the ear rather than hugging the head. They look quite fixed though; how adjustable are they? I can see this could be an advantage in helmets vs the arms that bend away from your head. However, just wondering if I do go for them, will me ears be in the right place and will they stay on day to day when looking down?!

You can buy extra long straps too I believe. I got some and put them on the Thule tow bar rack and they are ridiculously long and enable a fat bike tire easily. Probably long enough for a car tire.

Not just you. I get it randomly correcting a perfectly spelt and grammatically correct word for a random one that makes no sense in the sentence after I’ve input the next word. Ie it changes a word that isn’t the last one I’ve input.

    Thanks all.

What about one with a loop long enough to go around a diablo and with a clip attachment to release from the thicker, longer lanyard bit ?

I managed to snag the light and this broke the thin fabric, so not ideal as whilst it was tethered this failed at the same time it became detached. On the flip side better than being hung by my helmet!
