    Hmmm… strange.

I use a GoPro HD and with MSWMM I convert to avi and then edit. Can get a HD res movie of say 8 minutes which is about 350mb.

Just experimenting with Adobe Premiere Elements at the moment and that seems to save even larger files.

But to answer your question, if you want widescreen (which you do to make the perspective correct) then you will get large file sizes although on that settings page there is one other 16:9 setting which isnt HD so may save smaller files but I’ve never used this so it may be worth trying it to see the difference.

which version of WMM are you using? Is it the one you get with XP and Vista (same version) or the newer one that you get with Windows 7?

And what file format does your camera shoot in? and can you import it directly or do you convert to avi and then import?

    Bob, when you go to save it on movie maker (publish movie) and you come to the movie settings screen click on;

    – more settings button and then
    – select WMV – HD – 1280 x 720

That should sort out the perspective issues.

Nice one Ginge, great pics as usual.

It's Richard from diaryofamountainbiker here, I'm heading there on Friday for the weekend what would you say are the must do trails?

I have also heard that the Cli-Machx trail at Maccywhatsisname is worth doing and is circa 25 miles away. Is it worth the drive or should i stick at Coed?

I have two pairs of vanillas that have the same issue. I carried on using them without any noticeable decline in performance.

I now put fork oil on the stantions before use. Cycle the forks a few times to get the oil around the seals and ride

After use I make sure I am thorough about getting all the crap out from that hidden bit behind the brace section which is where the wear occurs.

Hose with water and then use a cloth/rag which i wrap around the stantion and pull each end of the cloth back and forwards to clean it then lube again.

Been doing this for circa 3 years since I discovered the wear.

As you say, it's oil and spring so less issues about the tolerances.

It would all be resolved if we all wore helmets.

SERIOUSLY, what is wrong with wearing a lid?

Very little, but that’s not the point is it? It’s all about personal freedom. This is the UK, it’s not yet some Police State where we are forced to do what we don’t want to because the state forces it upon us (even if Gollum Brown is trying to make it that way).

I think you are confusing a work commute with an official competition. If you dont want them to draft you then don’t overtake them or just ride faster.

I commute and tend not to draft but if i see someone go past that clearly just wants to get past me to make himself feel good cos of his inferiority complex then yes, I will draft him deliberately.

I can’t be bothered to read all the replies but the best response i ever saw on this subject was from mrmichaelwright of this ‘ere forum who wrote something along the lines of:

“I bought some bananas in Tesco the other day for two quid. turns out he had bought them off some bloke in the windies for 10p”.

    Get over it.

aggressive XC is when you go out riding with Jason of ACC fame as he yells ‘fooooooook off!’ at anyone and everything thing in his booming north western accent.

    Hora can no doubt confirm.

drop in down the local hospital and ask to do some voluntary work on the ward where they have all the smoking related illnesses.

As above, if you smoke you stink so your g/f will know anyway

So its not really what camera but what helmet mount? The helmet mounted Go pro vids on vimeo look pretty good, would it be easier to change your helmet/mount or ask go pro what they suggest? They seem pretty good people and are keen to spread the word on their cams
