do you have random gel type widgets which is what I usually fill my basket up with on min orders??? 💡

I’ve been advised exactly the same, by someone who worked at a well known and reputed outdoor gear shop. He also said that, with care, an iron on a low heat would work too, although I’d not really want to try that, not least because of the risk of getting the iron gunged up.

only going by what’s on the packet 😆 http://www.nikwax.co.uk/en-us/products/productdetail.php?productid=267&itemid=-1&fabricid=-1

using normal washing powder to clean your technical gear will ruin the breath ability of the man made fibres, and clogs up the pores of the waterproof material…it’s a big no no .. http://www.gore-tex.com/remote/Satellite/content/care-center/washing-instructions
this is for goretex but applies to any sports gear. It really doesn’t help when these companies use sports gear to advertise how clean they can make the clothes. that’s a given I would have thought

sometimes detergents can’t be helped (but not conditioners…oooh no). Currently using the gentle wash liquid that’s ment for washing silks and wool but that leaves me smelling of aunties? Already read the mfg stuff, mostly talks about the nikwax etc, but not so much about bulk washing in general. may give the grangers unless something else pops up ❓

as others have said, “bleeding” is very simple and should help. but check the remote connection looks intact – the barb nut
is very delicate and easily damaged after a crash. I’ve managed to pull mine off, not realising it’s broken, then pushed it back on! if it’s second hand who knows whats happened in the past…just make sure it feels secure before bleeding, the barb is easy to fix but not cheap.

anyone used the grangers 2 in 1? it claims to do a full load. https://grangers.co.uk/product/2in1-cleaner-and-proof

If it’s cold and dry outside, and I mean really cold I wear one of these http://www.decathlon.co.uk/bionassay-softshell-mens-hiking-fleece-black-id_8189747.html great in snowy conditions also.

please don’t post links to buying clothing….

Somebody up there said that you really need to go into a shop and go by “feel”. I think that’s the only sensible advice.

hope it’s a lady on that day 😳

used a gore windstopper for 36 miles during one of the Evanscycle ride it events. Worn next to the skin it was very comfortable. I’ve got nothing against gore except they don’t fit me as well as the endura stuff. The temperature for that day was mild (mid november I think) and we didn’t really stop much. I’m sure in colder climates a base layer would help…but as with any layered system it can be awkward to gauge the right clothes for that particular session. I would say the softshell comes out if it’s windy (surprise surprise) or the temp falls below 5′ other than that I just wear a madison long sleeve trail and short sleeve shirt.

the cheaper you go the less insulation…windy proof material you get..hell even a £10 fleece from gooutdoors is described as “windproof”. it’s not until you feel the material you notice it’s no better than a dishwasher cloth. Take a trip to the lbs and start touching up the clothes department 8)

thanks for the videos, yer seen that type of bike although not ridden it myself. am I correct in the whole bike does not tilt only the handle bars. does that detract from the experience? (although not having the wind in yer face makes that difficult to answer!)

where do you live? this time of year the nights are early and the mornings late so time on the bike has to be planned around a short day..not wanting to be out on the trails at night
go abroad for improved weather but most places tend to be out of season now…however try alan at http://www.sierramtb.com/ to see what he can offer round malaga.

are the holy grail of bike clothing?? a one piece suits all occasions garment…luckily you haven’t said “cheap”. However your budget will stretch to something of quality, try anything by endura or madison. I wear these brands because they fit and work. I have the endura convert which works well and the arms can be removed. I also have a lusso windtec for sale if your interested? black in small size. rrp is about £55 to £60 quid yours posted for £32. email for more details.

ride upto a small pheasant lieing in the middle of the track thinking “it will move” only to findout it’s buggered with suicidal thoughts of using your front tyre as a method of decapitcation ….slammed on but the back wheel followed through…ouch the bird was saved for the foxes

I know what your saying, but the knee jerk reaction to sorting the problem from those that abused the already in place policies impacted everyone. Offering “free postage” sounds great until you have someone who wants to return an item…how do you extract out the postage fee from that refund?
they had a policy in place but choose not to enforce, just like most of their policies really.

it wasn’t so bad until they started taking that 10% off the postage charge as well? that’s not fair particularly on auction items where its difficult to gauge an end price and generally I would load up the postage to at least cover the fees, yes your “not supposed” to do that but who are they kidding… tell you what I’ll start everything at 99p then when it sells at 99p and costs £2.60 + £1.10 signed postage you can fleece me for the miniscule amount I’ve just made – and by the way it’s not your item ebay it’s mine and it was worth allot more than that. Don’t forget the paypal fees which ARE NOT cheap – 3% percentage plus 20p??? what for…a load of guff.
remember I’m no business seller, just a muppet trying to sell a few bike bits. which by the way I have a shimano front crankset 38/24 pus a windproof lusso black top for sale if anyones is interested 8) cue shameless plug for my FOS

back to the original OP – this has always been the case with PAYPAL
shame you had to learn the hard way with (assuming) a large amount of money from your bike.
Frankly it is ridiculous that they INSIST you MUST have paypal listed as an option for payment – ANY protection offered is for DELIVERED items only and then items DELIVERED BY COURIER with a tracking reference. There is no option to remove it even if you specify CASH ON COLLECTION which PAYPAL SAY YOU SHOULD ALWAYS DO when you clearly cannot post or intend for it to be collected in person – CONFUSED?? well how about “ar*e” elbow springs to mind. After the latest round of ebay intrusion to the seller buying requirements I’ve ditched it and try to sell direct through here.
just ignore their requests and specify this directly in your listing – their is nothing they can do to stop you doing it becuase of the way they have gone about telling you not to accept paypal (???)
if someone does pay by paypal tell them it’s a deposit until they turn up and pay in cash then refund the money through paypal, or they not getting the item.

if it’s only for commuting then a lightweight “packable” waterproof is sufficient – there are a few cheap ones on ebay. as jameso said it only really becomes an issue if you stop and get cold. if it’s gonna get dirty no point spending a packet

have you been a good person this year? ask father christmas to put something under the tree. no seriously if you want breathable you need to save up some money and get something with either gore / e’vent or similar marketing guff in the title. another trick is to not ride so hard that you sweat in the first instance 😉
this item claims to do all what you want but have no experience of it http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Cycling-Jacket-Waterproof-Windproof-Jacket-Inside-lining-Cycling-Riding-/261324880816?_trksid=p2054897.l4275
