we were the only pedestrians around (2 of us brits huh) and thought it was just a faulty set of lights, turns out not the case. It was funny watching the school kids line up on their bikes like some kind of do or die maneuver ..or British bull dog. Pedestrian crossing lights (the red and green men) are changing from a light opposite the pavement that you can see while you’re crossing to one only on the button you press and which can’t be seen from any position apart from when you press the button – once crossing you can’t see the lights at all. This seems to be a backward step – if its a solution to a problems with the old style of lights I’m buggered if I can work it out.

I do like the look of the ST’s but went for a test drive and didn’t compare to the Honda civic (euro gen 8) it would replace. not so long back you would struggle to find real ale in pubs because the brewers, the big ones at least, saw to much hassle and cost in supplying what the punter wanted. then the government saw sense and stepped in, gave a tax relief on small brewers and hey presto..where we are today – no more stale lager but finally real ale even in the big pub chains. it’s not always perfect but it’s better than fruit based drink for the ladies.

bikes have a bit more tactility about them, I don’t usually ride wine but the beer tries to every now and again
