Has anyone ridden into Glentress Trail center from innerleithen village? I know it’s not far but want to avoid the main road if possible.

okay njee no bother already got the 1:50k. they wouldn’t be any better at 1:25K appearance as the methods used were the same. once you get used to the limitations of the device you overcome them by going back to basics. maybe one day I will give the osm a go for comparison.

the view scale issue with the OS maps vs the Open source is well document and to do with old technology catching up with new, basically the OS maps are scanned paper copies not digital vectors like the OSM.
njee what is the scale of your os maps? if they are the 1:25 version and your looking to get shot of I’d be interested in taking it off your hands.

Garmin should just get into bed with Strava..

I think they did judging by the perfect symmetry between garmin connect screen and strava?? agreed that the garmin interface is not brill both on pc and on device, but hey that’s what you pay big bucks for 😯

the garmins okay and has a long battery life (personally I don’t along with mine as the post above)) and for the extra £50 for the full os map version is well worth it. If you can do without the dedicated cycling features you could consider the memory map adventurer http://www.sportsdirect.com/memory-map-adventurer-2800-gps-787028?colcode=78702899&src=google&gclid=CJiH4OyE-MUCFeHJtAod1BYARg&gclsrc=aw.ds which can usually be found on ebay at reasonable second hand prices.

it would be a seagate and intend using their migration programme, not networked just personal. so when I’ve finished doing this aside from a few niggles all windows and games should be good to go, I’d hate to lose my place in call of duty mw 😕

xt shifters are easy to remove covers – unlike sram which are an integral part of the working mechanism (so never take it apart unless you like repairing clocks?) they are very robust and sounds like you have some dirt in it, but then anything can break under the right circumstances

any good dentman should solve your problem, that’s their bread and butter repair. back to my smashed up bits of plastic this maybe just the ticket “Q bond” but there must be an equivalent?

should be easy fix unless the shifters given up the ghost, but never turn to the darkside

what you need is a good electrician from the 1970’s, like the half wit that managed to install every single one of the sockets in the house with an obvious slant…spirit level?? no mate I use a cup of tea level. either that or done during a blackout

just work it baby, the oil has settled and affected the viscosity – if it’s never been bled from new it maybe time to give it a go if it doesn’t return to normal after a few pushes and normal use. Think of it as your bike telling you ride it more often

complete unit not necessary and expensive! at least £150 for the folding type..and only need the cover that contains the bulb

I thinking glass fibre resin or some other type of filler should suffice, needs to be strong enough to stop it flying off unexpected at speed. the clips are very thin and probably not suited to loctite

unfortunately I can’t find any pictures of the inside of the cover

sorry to highjack the thread, got up yesterday morning to find my door mirror kindly ragged from the car and the coloured coded plastic cover parked on the bonnet. Definite vandalism as they were folded in! luckily the bracket clipped back in to the motor but the cover has lots of thin clips to hold it in place now all smashed off- anyone know who could repair these clips as other than scratches the mirror is salvageable.
