nope, the gear shifter and brake combo just get in the way when using it upside down. I’ve got the same setup and even using a “right hand” lever on the left side it still won’t go. so unfortunately I’m stuck with it in the all to prone upper position…but at least I can reach it easily. on the upshot it does fit quite nicely on top but obviously (like a jimmy saville) a bit exposed

did the other car appear to notice? if it was just a glancing blow and the driver wasn’t aware then, while not excusable, you could forgive them for not knowing. But if the witness suggests otherwise then call the insurance and let them deal with it, drivers who willfully drive around with blinkers on should be taken out back and shot (jmo). of course it would mean you have to report the “non fault” accident upon your renewal for another 5 years at least. don’t forget how it went down for Mr balls recently http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-bradford-west-yorkshire-28658217

yer tricky number that, I think shimano bought shares in a hex key manufacturer and thus proceeded to fit every different size screw to this brake system??? bonkers. I take it you have emailed hope for help? this website may prove helpful? it’s a german mfg of custom made brake/gear adaptors http://www.trickstuff.de/en/products/clapton_KL.php
they don’t mention hope either but the pictures maybe helpful?

try different pads as suggested but formulas run very close to the disc anyway, unlike shimanos, and are temperamental for that reason. great for stopping but should come with free ear plugs

call alan and tell them trailmonkeys uk recommended you. they also advertise in mbr and others. very reasonable prices and good riding, based near malaga so easy pickup from the airport.

if you have a friendly car repairer or garage nearby they should have the tools to take these in and out, although you risk letting a grease monkey on your pride and joy 😆

high street is not an easy ride, or worth it in my opinion, the views are great but the 1hr + hike (and I mean hike!) up the mountain to get to it? nah. from patterdale take the bridleway to the right of the lake heading north all the way upto pooley bridge and get the steamer back? it’s about 10 miles one way, if you don’t take the boat back it’s mainly road on the other side of the lake back
