    as above, the style of training has changed as have the participants,

    1) Some people don't invest quite as much time in diet and nutrition believing chemicals will do the work for them.
    2) Bulking and cutting phases are more defined now, the emphasis being on mass building and then rapid drops in body fat, as opposed to a gradual process, thus you see some tubby people pre cut.

    I have just taken a job as chief execute of Britain, the first thing I will do is give everyone I went to school with senior positions in my organisation.

    The uneducated public won't mind because I will strategically avoid any contentious/pressing issues by not offering solutions, but rather by telling people what I am not going to do.

    No, you suggested that the country should be governed by people with the resources to fund the best education money can buy…

    And about passing the entrance exam, and/or the scholarship exams as well as ensuring that you achieve a sufficiently high level of GCSE grades to remain at the school in the Sixth form.

    What… like any other school?

    The conservative front bench is naturally gifted, and in no way subsidised, I heard they used to beat up the SAS because their cuffs lacked a crisp Guatemalan stretch.

    On another forum I use posting in the classified section is limited to those who have been members for 3 months and have contributed 100 posts on the talk board. There is also a forum for user feedback, one thread per user.

    Superb stage, edge of your seat racing…

    I have been blown away by Lances performance to this point, seven times tour winner, four years off and his is still competing with the best the world has to offer, remarkable. AC was always going to win, and lets face it, he is a class apart from the field, I'd love to have seen 27 year old lance against Contador.

    We should take a step back and appreciate the performance Armstrong is putting in, he has put his reputation on the line and put aside retiring at the top, to ride for what? himself no doubt, but also his charity. Hats off to the man.

    Leave via front door making plenty of noise, walk around block, enter back door/window. Sit in rocking chair sporting a 12 bore with the lights off. Wait.

    Buy a chest freezer.

    I did? Never heard of a 50mm front wheel before.

    Sorry, not clear;

    WTF :?:

    You read it right.

    quentinfarquar – as others have said, you will have to put air in the tubes before each ride, latex naturally leaks air slowly. I have found a bike fit calculator which might help you out (download is safe), just skip to the road bike section;

    Comfort wise I am pretty happy, and I am a fussy sod. I have bought some clip in shoes. The only thing I struggle comfort wise is my nads get a bit numb from leaning forward in the saddle, but I don't really stand up at all.

    er… alright, tubes may be trivial then…

    Start with some positional adjustments and go and look at the Specialized saddle range in your LBS.

    Tires and tubes, go for conti GP4000 and conti supersonic (50g) tubes, avoid latex as they'r irepairable and also weigh 50g so pointless.

    I disagree, latex tubes typically react better to pinching and as such last longer, they also offer significantly lower rolling resistance when combined with a reliable fast tyre like the Corsa CX (arguably the ultimate tyre). An 18-20 latex tube (in a 23mm tyre) is more effective in terms of energy maintained than a 50mm front wheel. Thus, all of the best tubs come with latex liners.

    Rims, tyres, tubes, that's where the time is made.

    Do a search on rouesartisanales for the relevant papers.

    Bang for buck;

    1) SPD-SL
    2) Vittoria Corsa evo CX 23mm Tyres
    3) Latex tubes

    Everything else quickly gets you into diminishing returns.

    4) Wheels – No factory crap, buy some Ultegra/DA or Chorus/Record (if you have any class) laced onto mavic OP's with Sapim lazers or DT somethings.

    Some excellent advice thanks.

    TandemJeremy – Probably good advice and definitely something I will look at.

    colwyn58“carrying on a trade” – Thanks for the pointer <googles>

    I am at the point of discounting aP’s contributions having read his opinions on HRH Lance Armstrong, so I wont address him directly. Needless to say he can keep his cedar clad pavilion and i will raise him a team of Bartlett Postgrads working up a syntax based emergent concept that will only ever work on the computer. :wink:

    HackneyRider – yes, cheers.

    Teetosugars – I agree, it stands a good chance though; within village boundary, fits with LDF, some favourable precedent.

    TandemJeremy – i remember reading something you posted about a listed building…? was that you?

    Not over budget no. It’s as a consequence of Sarah Beeney’s programs (and similar) that people think all building projects run over time and budget, it normally starts at the point they jettison the architect.

    Time not being an issue and no mortgage payments also helps.

    The proper documentation was for the loan – get it drawn up legally.

    It may be easier to call it a gift, from what i have been reading anyway.

    MTT

    Its not a gift if it is over a certain amount IIRC?

    Just googled it;

    There is no limit to gifts, however if you where to die within 7 years of giving it, it would be included in your estate for potential IHT.

    TJ – Oh oracle of all knowledge, please enlighten me? are you suggesting i don’t know how to build a house? would you like to see some examples?

    I’ll admit I know very little about tax, thus the question.

    MTT
    Free Member

    Surely if the ‘loan’ has no documents to go with it the taxman is going to class it as an income for Person A and attempt to tax if they find out aren’t they?

    Thats what i am asking? loan or gift? I assume its only liable as part of inheritance tax should person B die…?

    Thanks for the feedback, I will start again though;

    Building goes way over budget due to unforeseen building problems.

    Not an issue, its a timber frame new build on my own land, pending planning. I am an architect too which helps. build cost should be £60k.

    Housing market falls further when interest rates rise again.

    Built in a National Park, it cant fall below £60k given precedent (£165k average) and if all goes to pot we could just keep it.

    Person A left in negative equity unable to pay original loan back.

    No loan repayments just a final sum as and when it can be paid. There would be no time scale.

    For the record A is me, B is a family member.
